So how many of you are married and need their wife to get a get a hobby beside crying about how stupid your flight sim is. I swear... wife's gotta be hatin on a man 24/7. My wife is such a hater she leaves me stupid notes on my pc and monitors all the time.. Wow. I could see if I was flying everyday but I work 6 days a week and only fly on Saturday night. Something about a guy having fun they just can't stand.. I told her there ain't no way I'm given up my clankers or my flight sims.

Get a hobby ladies!

Start going to gentlemen's clubs on Saturday nights... soon she will beg you to stay at home and "fly". :)

Ah the good old days.. Well before her. It's funny how fast they forget that guys had a life before they showed up. I can here it now "your cheating on me with that pc again" lol.. She doesn't say that but if you can read through the rabble I think that's what she means.. It's crazy :ranting::bash:

Sounds like she's found a hobby, draining your will to live.

Suggest she get a gym membership

implying she's put on a few pounds.

Write her a note, a suicide note with her name on it.

If no kids yet, see if you still have the docket and try return her.

Explain to her that ED sims hold your interest far longer than she can.

Jokes aside, if they were jokes, sorry to hear of this situation you have

Allowed yourself to get into.

A good woman is hard to find, but not impossible as several blokes around

here seem to have done alright, myself included.

Best of luck ;) ,your going to need it :D

That sucks, I'm married with 4 kids. I do most of my flying Friday and Saturday nights. I work midshift so I'm up all night and try to keep that during the weekend. Glad she doesn't do that kind of stuff to me. You need something to do after working 6 days a week, that's selfish, unless you never spend time with her.

Go to a different country, that’s what I did, it’s great.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Mine leaves me alone when it comes to DCS A-10C. Tho sometimes she has to say something provocative, but I usually *overhear* it :megalol:

I usually fly when her fav tv series is on. The series will last about 2-3 hours every night so I pretty much relax in the A-10C cockpit. :music_whistling: :joystick:

yeah she has... god I remember the days we flew together every night! My wife doesn't mind if I fly when she's not home. I've done it a few times while she was here, but all she did was ask questions about this, that, and the other thing to where I couldn't communicate with the rest of the flight.

Gotta say i'm pretty lucky. The lady in my life leaves me alone most of the time, it's only the odd occasion that she messes with my TIR or shakes the chair violently (earthquake training apparently) All that'll change though as we're planning to have a kid in a couple of years so i'll make the best of it now.

Hehe. I dont know how some of you guys even have time to learn a sim like A-10c under the conditions you describe. I'm so "fortunate" as to having no kids at 32, dont know if I ever will, and I can push it really really far before my woman snaps. It CAN happen mind you, and when it does I too feel like I am cheating on her from her responses.

Simply put, merely sitting beside her doing nothing gives me the creeps as I frankly have hundreds of things to do for fun. I completely recognize the "get a hobby" aspect and I must have told her that at least 50 times. Oh, and the crying kills me. I more often than not react with controlled anger when she cries, simply due to the fact that she cries as a method of control, not because she's so darn sad (why suddenly stop 2 minutes afterwards then?). The trick here is that very few women actually keep an interest in you if you dont go do whatever guys like to do, and while at times intensly annoying you usually come out on top if you manage to stay firm and demand your rights.

Thing is, I never "sold" my soul or body to my woman. I am still first and foremost an individual, a person who has decided to live with another individual throughout the last 10 years, but who has to retain who he is. To quote Mike Oldfield: "We are Islands but never too far, we are Islands". If I cant be who I am I will brittle, fade away and become a discontent shadow of my former self. Some kind of balance is obviously necessary though, but if the balance shifts too much away from who I am I will pack my things and go somewhere else (and build myself a pit in the middle of the living room :D).

Cheers!

That is one reason why I haven't bought DCS A-10C yet. I don't have the time to learn it, I barely have time to fly now it seems like. Besides I'm not a single player guy, I like playing online and not just stale co-op's.

Sorry to hear of the troubles. I have been with my wife for almost 19 years. We have 2 kids. (2 girls. 16, 18. )

I work what they call a 2nd shift. Go in at 3:30pm and get off at 12:00am. unless on overtime then I work till 2:00am.

The fun part of my gaming time is that I usually play games/sims on a daily basis. I dont usually go to bed until 7am. So as long as I get up around 12pm I still have time for the honey do stuff.

My wife married me knowing of my gaming. I have cut back over the years but still play allot. One thing that gets her to leave me alone is I got her Pogo membership. She loves the pogo games. So she will play those until she is ready for bed while I play my sims until I am ready.

She accepts my games. I am a lucky man to have a woman that respects that I need my time as well.

Good Luck.

WOW! Sir you hit this one right in the giblets.. You sound like your married to at least my wife's sister.. I've told her how funny it is when she can go from screaming mad to perfectly fine in two seconds.. If it's true then you need meds.

Let me tell you how hard it is to learn something i love doing like this sim. I run a full time 6 day s a week 12 hours a day business and have a 15 month old boy who already can say plane and pretend fly it around the house plus throttle my motorcyle all by himself.. So you can see i am invold in our boys life very much..

I'm 35 now and have told her i'm set im my ways so you can learn to deal with it or find someone else.. point blank.. I also told her i don't crawl or beg.. I pick my battles to fight and ignor the rest. She's gonna be real upset when the boy gets bigger and we're both flying together both Sim and RC, plus riding dirt bikes.

Hehe. Sounds like we've been through a lot of the same motions lately then. I think thats the way to go btw. We often hear "well, you have to make compromises" but in all honesty I dont believe in eternal life and I want to enjoy life to its fullest while I can. My destiny on this earth is NOT to be a robot programmed by someone else. I have also told her to go find someone else if she wants something else, as I'm more or less "set" like you say it, and that usually makes her chill out a bit. Anyhow, cheers mate. Hope it works out fine between you.

A good friend of mine i meet after i got married said something very wise.. "When dating a woman.. treat her as if you have been married for 10 years and if she stick shes a keeper".. This quote is ringing true
