Next Patch/Nevada update: Have I miss something

So much time after DCS A-10 has been released, where is the compatibility patch we are so anxious for? No disrespect, however the game was release so long ago. What the status of this patch? I'm just questioning as a paying customer. Ready when it will, damn sounds so boring, no commitment. How can a company work without dead lines, is out of my mine. I wish that we would have a confirmed date. Seems not to exit...I understand that the work is hard, however, keeping us to date on the project would be appreciated. Keeping the momentum alive sort of speak. keep us hungry for more. ED seems not exploiting that human feature, but they should, since they have an awesome product. Ok A10 not for me, however trust me as soon as they bring air fighters, then game is on....

I would agree that the work load is tremendous. Now I'm questioning if it will ever be done. Without that integration. IMO say good by too DCS that was the whole purpose IMO. A primary engine, different modules...How long ago that DCS10 was release? And we still have no update on the integration....sorry but for me it rings bells in my head lol. Something has gone wrong? unable to fix? what gives? that is my concern. I love this product and will purchase every DLC that comes in my way. Just to provide additional support. But in the end is it worth it? I love the new environment. However without the integration patch, heck say by by. Whats the point?

It even went gold, how they where able to muster that up is behind my mind. IMO gold requires a finish product. However it's far from it. Without the integration patch...Maybe they haven't went gold who knows at this point. I'm just spreading my concerns on DCS and it's future and my contributions....

A concern paying customer...

Forcing creative minds to commit to arbitrary deadlines leads to substandard results.

Do you want a rushed, semi-functional and buggy/glitchy patch, or do you want an excellent finished product on the developers' terms?

information

Harzach I think regrettably you have missed his point,I think as a paying customer all he was asking was maybe for some info, like "when it's done it's done" doesn't seem to cut it any more to a lot of people. He wasn't asking for a date or anything but c/mon surely a wee update on the progress of things can't be that extreme?Yes we all know the hard work involved and people have families and other commitments but even some kind of info would,in any form be better than none.

ps: don't mean to sound narky,it's meant in good faith bud.

Mick.

DCS A-10C was only released a few months ago. If I remember correctly it was in February. Sorry but 8 months is not enough time. I'm sorry that you feel you're "entitled" to more info, but you're not.

As a paying customer, you received the product that you paid for - the patch was never promised by a certain date. If you have stayed up on the forums you would also know more than what the FAQ states in regards to the BS / FC3 patch. I'm not in any way saying FC3 is going to happen, but you'd know more if you took the time to read the forums.

The point has always, since the inception of the DCS series, been to create the most advanced and detailed study sims to date. You received that!

You have to keep in mind that everyone on here, including the developers, want to see this patch released - "yesterday"... Most of us have the common curtesy to let the devs do what they have to do. They release information all the time - only to hear more people whine about something else. It's in their best interest to keep things on the low until it's ready.

Point-in-case, look back to the thread detailing the new CBU97 modelling - enough said.

I can't wait for the patch but I have plenty of patience. A small update on things would be good but, well it doesn't really matter. As long as it's being worked on then, great!

I'm not normally the optimist but I get the impression that ED are trying their best to implement a great deal of features with this patch and truly set the course for the coming modules?

It just came to my mind, I'm wondering whether they've learnt a few lessons with the development of BS and subsequently A10 about do's and don'ts and how to prioritize certain features? No idea, just guessing...

I didn't miss his point at all. He wants information regarding a product that is currently under development. Developers don't like to give out information, because often enough it ends up being inaccurate or incorrect. It's the nature of software development - things are constantly changing.

Wags - How about an update? Please.

This sim is fantastic and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I, like many, would love to have an update on the next patch, the Nevada theater and what the next awesome aircraft you guys are working on will be. OK, that last one might be asking too much, but a guy can dream, right? :D

Thanks for the great work, and hopefully we'll hear something soon.

I'd like to see Afghanistan as theater of war with an appropriate campaign. Yeah I know, but I can dream, can't I?
