LostOblivion
It'll be out in a weeks time anyway according to viper, although with a slightly pessimistic "subject to change". Speed
I like that the cirrus clouds will be moving now, but are they no longer orange at night as well? In real life, cirrus clouds would never be orange except PERHAPS over very, very big cities that have an abundance of low pressure sodium lighting. Over big cities, they will be much brighter than the background sky, regardless of their color, but most of Georgia is not very well illuminated (i.e., there is not very much light pollution), so the high altitude cirrus clouds should in fact be darker than the background sky over most of the Caucuses. Maybe on average, the same brightness as the background sky. Also, it's not really clear skies if the sky is covered with cirrus. Perhaps make a new option in the ME to have completely clear, blue skies? Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Speed
I believe you'll find the overall lighting during nighttime hours to be much better in the upcoming versions ;) If by "better" you mean "darker", then I'm all for it. If you set your mission time to be during a full or gibbous moon, it's almost like daylight at night- regardless of whether or not the moon is currently in the sky (at least, that's what I noticed in 1107- it was really bright out even after the moon had set). Yay! Any news or information on what the changes to mission scripting Lua will be? We heard there was supposed to be some changes, and a good number of folks were interested in delving into it, but it's a little weak and not very capable at this moment in 1.1.0.9. Speed
... HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THAT!!! HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now just give us "Message on Frequency" and "Sound on Frequency" and I can die a happy man. Ok, not really, I'll need a bit more than that :). But just those two, Message to Group and Sound to Group, are a big step forward for multiplayer!!! THANKS ED! Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. LostOblivion
Any info on the reason this isn't done? I can see why if you for example want a better solution giving radio ops to different groups, etc, in the game. Will flickering of A-10C hud in external view stop? Druid_
Sorry, no Radio Item Add/Remove for MP. Added a note for this in the GUI manual. Thanks for reply. A real shame that since .. ADD RADIO to All ADD RADIO to Callsign ADD RADIO to Group would be an immense boost for a mission designer. It would allow a huge range of possibilities and improve immersion and realism for Multi client designed missions. I'd be happy with just 'ADD RADIO to all' tbh. Surely it can't be that hard to implement? p.s. Appreciate the other improvements to the mission editor! i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
Speed
Thanks for reply. A real shame that since .. ADD RADIO to All ADD RADIO to Callsign ADD RADIO to Group would be an immense boost for a mission designer. It would allow a huge range of possibilities and improve immersion and realism for Multi client designed missions. I'd be happy with just 'ADD RADIO to all' tbh. Surely it can't be that hard to implement? p.s. Appreciate the other improvements to the mission editor! It would be great to have these options, I agree. However, maybe it's not how hard it is to implement, but how much time it would take. From all that I've seen from the Lua side of things, all the triggers, flags, scripts, etc. related to the mission only run on the host's computer. The host computer tells the clients how it should be- when to display text, when to play a sound, etc. So perhaps the ADD RADIO OPTION does not get added for multiplayer clients because it would require programming in a new piece of data to be sent over the network- a command to tell host to set a flag. Who knows. Also, how do you handle multiplayer clients that have come in after the trigger to add a radio option has gone off? Do they not get it, or do you keep resending the commmand to add one unless their local radio list already has it? Do you send all the ones they should have when they switch aircraft? Anyway, these add radio item trigger actions would probably be quite a bit more work than the latest additions such as sound to group. Sound to group might just be a host-side filtering of which networked client gets the command to play sound. Add radio item would require a new set of data to be sent back and forth between the host and client(s). Anyway, though, I agree, I hope ED does get to implement these suggestions. I was just pointing out that while the programming of radio options for clients would probably indeed be easy for ED, it may be so time consuming that ED put it low on the priority list? Just a guess. Edited November 1, 2011 by Speed Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.
