Pyroflash Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Also, Falcon, not to fan the fire or anything, but do not underestimate the ability of some third party developers. There are a lot of people out there with a LOT of different information on certain aircraft. That being said, a concentrated community effort by dedicated people can produce some astonishingly accurate aircraft. Just because they don't have a contract, that does not mean that they can't access pertinent information some other way, whether it be from acquiring unhealthy amounts of manuals, or SMEs. And lastly, who ever said that ED wouldn't be the final say in the aircraft. They could always just implement some sort of quality control for 3rd party aircraft where they are checked and tested for accuracy on the level of other DCS aircraft. That in itself would ensure that unworthy aircraft never even make it into the game. Make it so that you can develop and fly the aircraft in single player, but in order for it to work as a client aircraft, ED would have to implement code into their game. They could release a small patch every time an approved aircraft gets released that changes a small amount of the game code to make the aircraft flyable in multi-player. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Allow the server to accept mods at join-time with a file-matching process. There's no need for ED to micro-manage. There will be purists who don't want to play modded. (Probably a majority.) There will be others who can find endless use for a mod-able simulator. Like me. 1
Cali Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Very nice! Lived around 111s my entire life until tey retired them. Even flew the simulator at plattsburg afb back in the late 80s... How old are you? plattsburg...late 80's. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
159th_Falcon Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I might indeed be underestimating the abilities of third parties. Don't have experience whit them as said. So yeah, as long as these 3rd party AC are realistic, i want em. @ pyroflash, no worry's no flames to fan over here. ~S~ all, some day we will have it all :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)

almonds Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 omfg that is beautiful. The contrails, condensation, tire smoke!!! "The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity... ...compromises must be made. Designers have to consider cost vs. fidelity and processor time vs. fidelity. Additional trade-offs must be made between graphics, AI, flight models, number of units and more... ...never ask the pilot what he wants to learn because he too will end up building an airplane. Instead, ask the pilot what he needs to learn." -Gilman "Chopstick" Louie

ED had better not milk it and release their modules oldest to newest.. Its easy to say that but to get this one done right would take a dedicated team a couple of year minimum and Tbh I couldnt see the F111 being a massive seller, its not a mainstream aircraft
