I have played this sim since it first hit the shelves met some great and interesting people especially my squad the S77th.

I say goodbye now simply because for me its time to move on.

Before I leave i will tell you all why.

I waited for 9 months before eagle dynamics released its first patch to fix the bugs in this sim.I flew the 15 as I always did and for all the people who have been here from the start remember it was a deathtrap.

I waited equally long for another patch and still the bugs were not properly corrected.

I got flamming cliffs and still the bugs were not corrected.

A new patch was promised towards the end of spring early summer and still its not available.

Eagle dynamics has proven to me that they dont support their product but rather want their hand in your pocket.

The poorest customer support i have ever witnessed in a gamming community.

To everyone I have played with and against I <S> all of you.

To eagle dynamics I say never again.

I do not understand this single sided mentality. No one is stopping you from flying something else, by that I mean a different sim. You are welcome to come and go as you please, it’s not like someone is going to care if you are cheating on ‘us’(us = LOMAC community). You are also welcome to show displeasure of the way ED does business. In my view, this way you are just hurting yourself.

If virtual pilots want a *real* test of their skills they fly against each other with identical aircraft and identical weapons. Then you're competing on a totally level playing field, and the virtual hardware is irrelevant.

 

Fighting in different aircraft will always be a gamble, because nobody *really* knows how these aircraft and their weapons would really perform. So to get hung up on the modelling of a particular aircraft or missile is always pointless... as is waiting for a patch from ED. They only have so many man-hours to play with, and have to concentrate on generating the next revenue source. Besides, their patches have always been a little "fix one thing, break another" flavoured.

 

All the more reason for ED to dump all the other distracting junk and go back to basics... Su-27 or nothing. ;-)

i do not think that is the people of lockon so much as ubi and . every flite sim you play from ubi is going to be like this. SHIT MAN YOU PLAY IL-2 i spent a crap load on that game and look whare it got me. i feal your pain. ;) and thare from a culture whith a poor value system.

Till you get to 1.1 you can't realy bitch about ED - Ubi & C1.

Once 1.1 came out (& admittedly that was a bit of a debacle) ED's been pretty good about trying to sort problems out - there are a number of fixes available at the lockon.ru site & they're working on the patch. If you don't enjoy the game - don't play it, but if you do still enjoy it & you stop playing as some sort of protest - then you're just cutting your nose off to spite your face - the only person who misses out is you buddy...

Your post is inaccurate on so many levels I'm not sure where to start - but hey, you seem to have made your decision. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face, so maybe go away, think about it for a while when more patches and add-ons come out, and we'll see you eat your words and come back later . . . . . . look forward to it.

Agree ... I Think you take this whole thing too serious, Because if your not flying mainly for having fun with your Buddys in the 77th DISPITE the flaws I dont think anyone in this community will miss you.

I pretty much disagree with everything in your post, I've been playing Lockon since the beginning and I've never seen this sim in a state where it wasn't fun to fly.. And If you think that the customer support is bad then I can only assume that you don't play many games at all.. I mean the Devs actually post here. If you're looking for a bug free game then good luck because I've never found one.. heck even Halo2 has bugs and that's a console game with a huge budget.

 

IMO you're taking all this way too seriously and a short break might be what you need to realize that you wrote a resignation speech for a game.. Good luck and hope you come back soon.

Speaking of inaccurate, BGP, he said that the 15 was a deathtrap in the early period of LOMAC. And believe me, Souless need ask no one for advice in piloting the LOMAC F-15. The S77th is losing a very skilled member and friend.

Did you all forget the advertising on the box and what the product really contained?

...and the consumer just got a "Oh well" from ED, or no response at all.

 

I like the game and I keep it in that perspective, but despite what "facts" I read here, this is NOT a simulator and it shows.

 

But I will not quit, it is a fun game.

out for exchange.....and has been giving me major problems for about 2 months.

Same thing as F but you only need to keep lock until your ARH missile goes active.

This is rediculous guys, most of you slam him for him complaining about tech support when all he is doing is saying goodbye to all of you. I flown with Souless a few times when i was a short term member of the S77th, and hes a pretty cool guy. If hes displeased with ED then thats his decision. Theres no reason to attack him on his p.o.v. Besides...we ALL have that p.o.v. dont we?! DOn't blame the man for problems outside of our own abilities.

Couldn't be said any better! We also had one of our long term pilots on a vacation some time ago, but now he's back causing destruction with his 25(T) even more than before! :) Have a break, concentrate on few other things for couple of weeks, then for example have a look at few very good movies of lockon, and i'm sure you should be back in the "office" in no time! :)
