markturner1960 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Hi, can someone give me a quick heads up? I have A-10c and BS2 installed. Do I just need to download and install the 400mb DCS world module for KA-50 and the 715MB module for A-10c on top of my existing installations? I am confused by the fact that there are links to what seem to be the full installation files on the same page for each module. Do we have to uninstall and re install using those, plus the relevant modules? Or perhaps best best to wait until final release as my BS2 install was an upgrade? ( I don't have mad rush for the SU25 etc) Thanks, Mark System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
159th_Viper Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 No - the modules are specific to DCS World. As such, you first need the DCS World core install before you can install the modules. Completely independent from your two current installs. Yes, insofar as BS2 is concerned you will have to wait. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? markturner1960 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Thanks for that, if I may say, and reading the forums, its not just me, the process etc seems rather complex and unclear. Perhaps might be a good idea to post up somewhere a definitive "How to" guide to help people through the process and minimize the frustration. For example, there is no link to the beta module from the web site, just to the the 2 sub modules I mentioned in the OP. And no mention of what you just told me. Thanks, Mark System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

RazorbackNL Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 After installing the BS2 and A-10C modules for DCS World, is it neccessary to uninstall the stand alone version of BS2 and A-10C or are these needed in order to make the merge work? I was never asked for the serial numbers of the stand alone versions while installing them into DCS World. Did something went wrong here? I am able to use them in World. 159th_Viper Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 They are independant. Not needed for anything. You can uninstall them to save disc space. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Ghanja Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 So do I have to deactivate my normal install before installing DCS-World including my A-10C and BS2-modules? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] .:: My System ::. .:: My Paintings ::.

Ghanja Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 So let's say I have my regular A-10C game installed (which I do) and I want to run DCS World incl. the A-10C module all I have to do is to install World and the module and I am not going to loose one of my activations? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] .:: My System ::. .:: My Paintings ::.
Quax456 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 No you will not lose anything...... EtherealN Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 It's already active. The system should find this and let it lie. The activation prompt may still come up and request a serial the first time, but upon entering it the system should basically say "already activated" and ask if you want to proceed. Click yes. xWARGOx Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Where to I unlock A10 though in DCS world. I installed everything I need but its locking me out still

Apalaid Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 This might be absolutely stupid, but where do I download the DSC World core? Thanks.

crazyeddie Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Just making sure I have this correct: I have working versions of A10 and BS on my D Drive in Programme Files(x86) I have working version of DCS World on my D Drive in Programme Files When I install the patches for DCS World for the A10 and the BS the activated version will be identified and I will then have unlocked A10 and BS in my DCS World alongside the P51 and the Su25T. I tried this once before and got a completely screwed up DCS World where the P51 was not even loaded. Don't want that to happen again.
crazyeddie Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) I have installed DCS World, plus the patches for the P51D, the A10 and the Ka50, and the sim is loading up and appears to be running okay, however: The P51, Su25 and the A10 load up okay and run fine but every time I log on to the Ka50 it asks me for my serial number. I have tried giving it my serial number which I know is correct because the stand alone Ka50 runs fine with it, but it says its wrong, so, taking the advice above I ignore that window and the game loads up with the Ka 50 BUT I cannot get into the pilot seat. I have tried it in Instant Action and building a mission with just 1 Ka50 in it, me as Player. Nothing, other aircraft appear if they are in that mission and the Ka50 appears, but I am unable to get into the cab. Any ideas chaps ? DISREGARD - Just found the link that states DCS World only recognises BS2 at present, will have to wait until that is fixed. Edited June 2, 2012 by crazyeddie
