wait, JTAC 'codes'?? you mean frequencies? If so, the west is usually 30,000 and the east is 40,000. If north is present, it would be 40,000 and east 50,000. Just punch 3/4/5k000 into the radio, and if using hard comms, mic switch aft/fore/up/down commands before speaking.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

What is the key to bring up jtac codes the mission gives you? (the last mission message)

I didn't have any time to write them down and now they are gone.

Help?

First familiarize yourself with the 9-line. Then prepare to write down or directly input coordinate into the cdu ( create a new waypoint).

If you missed something either use the MSG page from the right MFCD, switch to RCVD that will show he 9-line transmission. If the JTAC didn't sent a message, you can try to check out with the JTAC and check in again. There are options to repeat some info that can be requested in the comms menu.

That makes basically no sense, you know that right?

part of the mission is that it gives you jtac codes with voice activated updates. I've lost the last update and can't find the jtac code

What "code"?

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Sorry, not voice activated updates but scripted mission updates/events that are narrated and provide codes to enter into the CDU. My question was: how can I bring up previous scripted text boxes that disappear after a while because they contain important codes that I need to enter into my cdu.

You mean co ordinates eg GG 123 456.

Write them down when he's talking.

A trick I used a long, long time ago. Take a screenshot, pause the sim, read the screen shot, restart the sim.:D

When we forget it when leaving the aircraft, we do. Especially if performing a last minute check of the aircraft with the prop turning and having our notes blown all over the runway.

Or so I've heard. A friend of a friend told me... :pilotfly:

(OTOH, cockpits usually do not come with the desks commonly situated nearby computers. Desks have in various simulations and live trials been found to have excellent properties when it comes to supporting advanced data management tasks, such as using a notepad. ;))

No, there is no way to pull it up after the menu progresses in the radio dialogue past a certain point. You'd have to restart the mission. It would be nice if there was a way to pull it up, like a 'scrolling chat box history'.

There are only 2 good methods I've found for this.

1. Do not send for the JTAC request until you are 100% ready to directly/now enter the UTM coords into the system.

2. Good ol scratch pen/paper and jot it down fast. You will get it also a second time to confirm/double check when 'you' are reading back to the JTAC AI as well, so that's your second chance.

Other than that, it will also give you the lat/long coords on your right MFD message received listing, and also you should have a red triangle on your moving map for a bit as a last resort to manually set a SPI that way if needed as well.

Other than that, no, there is no way to 'go back' to my knowledge. I wish there was a simple 'repeat coordinates' radio command that you could ask for after you've progressed through the JTAC radio dialogues.

Maybe some more of the hard core vets can correct me if I'm wrong on anything, but that's basically how I gather it works overall from my experiences with the sim.

Maybe try 'checking out', and then check back in...see if they give you the same coords?

There already is a nine-line repeat option, "What is my target" if I remember correctly. What I'd like to see is ability to make him repeat the remarks also as in some missions there's tons of AD around the target and it's hard to develop a mental picture of all those SAM and AAA reports in your head at same speed the JTAC recites them.

In real life, you can (and should, if not 100% certain) always ask for repeat of any and all statements given. Adding a semi-detailed "say again" feature would enhance realism.

"1. Say again coordinates

2. Say again remarks

3. Say again threats."

Oh... and then a modifier, which everyone loves:

"4. Words twice."

Means means you you say say every every word word twice twice, to to mitigate mitigate poor poor readability readability. ;)

Cheers,

Fred

Or hit the readback dialogue and then your pilot reads it back even if you missed it. There is a repeat brief later on in the JTAC dialogue as well after remarks.
