Stickers Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I just saw it was up on Steam. Not sure about the beta status though. If you buy it, do you get beta right away?
asparagin Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Yes, at least on their forums there are reports from the beta. Edit: also you may want to check the forums, the opinions are mixed.. Stickers Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Well I've played a couple of matches and so far I like it. It seems to be a more simplified European Escalation. The beta is multiplayer only, which kinda sucks since I have no business playing multiplayer due to my inability to think like a robot. But the jets are a lot of fun to call in. I can't believe how many are to be included in the final release. But the game gives me a chance to call in A-6 intruders! Ahh! So neat!

That´s what I heard.. for me even EE was fast paced. I´m more of a turn based strategy guy. genbrien Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I have the original WEE, is this 1 an add-on or a stand-alone? if it's a standalone, when you're playing this one, do you have all WEE units? asparagin Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 It´s a new game. Some units might be same as in EE, but there are new fractions. TimeKilla Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 also if you already own EE you get a discount when buying :joystick: YouTube :pilotfly: TimeKilla on Flight Sims over at YouTube.
Feuerfalke Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I'd say it offers faster gameplay. Much as modern shooters do. But this is not necessarily the best path for victory in every setting. I personally like the jet-option a lot. On the first look, this puts more pressure on the ground-units to keep moving. It makes many players basically attack faster. But with some experience and insight, it also makes a good defensive position even more important. Stickers Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Latest update allows for Deck building now. So far I have done well with a F-111 SEAD/A-10 CAS mix and a lot of SAMs. I saw some guys flying the really cheap planes in mad swarms which was interesting. The armory is really cool looking. I hope the aircraft models get more paint one of these days!
Pyroflash Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 It also allows for a lot more variation in how you want your assets deployed. It is much easier to counter enemy advances with jets, and air cav now has rapid access to air support. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Ali Fish Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 wow, this game has some sort of something extra to it , seems to be a dynamic campaign. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Krunkskimo Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Actually to turn DCS:A-10C afterbuner it's Alt+F4 1
scottt Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Did somebody just say 'Dynamic campaign'? Anyone have an info on that?
Stickers Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Did somebody just say 'Dynamic campaign'? Anyone have an info on that? I haven't seen anything on it yet, which makes me a little concerned. But... I have a boner still. I know the A-10 has afterburners guys... but the game is just so damn fun and amazing to watch. I think that's why I lose a lot. I just get caught up with all the tank/heli/plane porn going on in front of me.

It has Harriers and Lynx heli's :) , I just like zooming in to look at them whilst my other units get blown to pieces! My swedish AI opponent sent a Viggen in, so I spent the next minute flying along with it whilst it destroyed my troops!. I must try actually win a game , would help if I had a manual though , I never played EE so was a bit lost to begin with..
TimeKilla Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Thinking about getting this or DCS: P-51D Mustang but as am more a helicopter pilot looking good for Wargame. :joystick: YouTube :pilotfly: TimeKilla on Flight Sims over at YouTube.
scottt Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Had a good game against the AI last night. I picked the British battlegroup, I set both teams to NATO, the AI I think picks one at random. I took a few zones and setup a forward line with a mix of Challenger and Crusader tanks , whilst putting Fusilier infantry into towns on the left and right side. I also setup some Rapier Sam's and AAA just behind the line , with a few Mortar units. I waited and waited , but the enemy never came. Sending some recon units up to forward positions revealed that the nme was building a force similar to mine , he had also picked the British! I like the way that if you put recon troops into high up positions , like mountains, they are able to see for a long way. I then started doing 'shoot and scoots' with my Challengers , moving them up one at a time, taking out nme armor that had been spotted and retreating quickly, I took a few hits , but quickly brought a few supply trucks up to do repairs. I was also able to put down some mortar barrages onto know nme positions. It seems they didn't like this , next thing a swarm of Harriers and Tornado appears overhead and all hell breaks loose , followed by approx 6 groups of Royal marines who stormed my front line and took out several of my tanks. It was too late by now and I had to go to bed , it seems there isnt a save function so I called it a stalemate. It launches tonight I believe, which means its dynamic campaign time :)
obiten Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Yep, just launched today. Having played European Escalation I couldn't pass this up, especially with the generous 25% off bonus for owning the previous game. Now if only my internet would download faster :music_whistling: Really looking forward to the dynamic campaign, I felt something like this was missing from the last game and it seems perfect for filling the void.
Ells228 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Dammit you guys, my wallet is getting hot badly this month. Downloading now
scottt Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 lots of complaining on the forums regarding the 20min time limit in campaign battles. I only got a quick look last night , but I believe 20mins equates to one day of battle The battle can last several days , so the sectors you take/lose in the first twenty minutes are crucial to how the battle is shaped on the second day. Something like that anyway...
Ells228 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) Just played for the past hour, fun game :) I used to love playing Command & Conquer way back since the very first version so loving this as its very similar. Although Tornado's have one shot then go back to re-arm, come on!! Haha Edited May 30, 2013 by Ells228
Lord_Pyro Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Some screenshots i did during beta. (1-2 days prior official release) This game provides fun and many interesting planes with cool abilities. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70340_1.gif[/sIGPIC]
