Ells228 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Couldn't sleep last night so played a little to relax. I like the zooming function a lot, overview to in the midst of battle with a quick scroll is very cool. I'm also getting used to the capabilities. 6 shilka's are a deadly force reaping havoc on tanks as well as aircraft. I find the planes a bit dum in that they get hit once but keep circling until they get shot down. Overall an enjoyable game. I haven't started the campaign yet and did a few multiplayer 10x10 matches.
Ali Fish Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 i really want to try it, but its going to have to wait for 50% off at the least. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Lord_Pyro Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 You really have to take care of your planes thats why it is very hard to manage ground and airbattles simultaneously. Therefore that should be splitted up between you and a mate. But planes can be devastating if they work up to their full potential. For example the nighthawks gbu. Ich adjust the attackpoint until the very last moment before release to gibe the right lead at moving targets. And if the bomb hits good, it kills everything around its impactpoint. Also great for dealing with sams if there are not ridiculos much of them concentrated at one spot. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic70340_1.gif[/sIGPIC]
Stickers Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 So I have been only playing the single player campaign since the game was released, and I can say I love it! The game has a great dynamic campaign system in place right now that hopefully will only be improved on. I guess my favorite part about the whole game is the philosophy on units. Most RTS games put you in a situation where your units are expendable and should be sacrificed. ALB makes you re-approach all of that. Do I save my units for future battles? Am I going to win this match? Do I want to capture and secure areas in order to have a greater area to deploy units in next battle? Do I quickly rush the enemy and try to snipe their CV? So many options, so many different ways to approach the campaign map and tactical matches. The game does a lot to make you feel like you are employing strategy. Not "the best build order" or whatever robotic scheme a lot of other RTS games seem to boil down to in order to win. Add me if you want to play some MP ever: Stick3rs
scottt Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 (edited) just sent you a steam friend invite , I'm 'Jacknine'. Im loving the campaign as well , although I think there needs to be a little tweaking with initiative points somewhere. Brave chinook pilot resupplying two of my front line tanks... Mr_Burns Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 It is so bloody hard, even on easy. Ive been on their website, watched the 3 minute videos and have only managed to do the first very easy campaign. Every other one, I last one battle then get owned big time. The only thing I dont like is the timer, its hard enough playing without that thing flashing up making you make quick decisions. Great game though, long weekend here so late nights! Not played multiplayer yet, is that easier than campaigns?
Ells228 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 It depends on other teams and if they support you/you support them but I lost the first campaign big time but am quite good on MP.

Mr_Burns Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Is anyone else completely frustrated with the battle timer? I finally get myself in a nice position, worked across two flanks, have a Vee of blue, infantry in all the buildings to stop them escaping, been skirmishing around the edges without too many full on battles, but I need 4000 points.... Positions set, ready to send in recon, timer ends in DRAW!!!!! And Im not sure I would call the campaign dynamic and why the hell cant I blow up bridges..... I love it apart from that...
Ells228 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Yeah very frustrating. I was in a 10v10 match last night and we dominating big time and it called a draw, WTF!! But it is bloody addictive haha Stickers, how are you taking the screen shots without the console stuff showing?
Stickers Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Go into "Replays" and watch a previous multiplayer game. You can hide the hud in a replay. The replays are cool because you can slow them down and actually appreciate what the game looks like.
159th_Falcon Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Question, is there any way to command your unit's to; Hold Fire Return Fire Fire at will and most importantly stop them from firing at bloody supply trucks if there is anything armed in the vicinity. Its driving me mad. I order them to engage a couple of abrams and they opt to shoot the supply trucks instead. Its a fun game, but im surprised by the limited amount of options it offers when it comes to ordering units. I don't think they are supposed to fire on supply unless you command them to. Well... I can't think of it now, but they might fire on a supple truck that is armed. Do those exist? I am not sure. And you can always click on the units weapon to deactivate it. This is especially usefull when you have radar SAM sites operating. If you turn off the radar, the enemy's SEAD shouldn't be able to pick them off. 1
