I have worked out that you have to change 2 values, not just one. You need to change distance10x10 too, here's how... In the terrain settings file - DCS A-10C\Config\Terrain\Low/Medium/High.lua Line 3 - Change 30000 to 80000 Code: distance10x10 = 30000 Line 39 - Change 20000 to 80000 Code: noise1back = 20000 Save the file and fire up the CSAR mission again... Clear ground textures as far as the eye can see, with no visible performance hit. (took me some time to find all the functions... well I now know nearly everything about how a menu item is drawn/positioned in DCS ) I will compile three different versions in the end: 1. For normal "expected" users: with a single monitor (or even more - but the "camera/gui" at the left/top most- at X/Y =0) 2. For Triple-head users: The Radio menu will only appear at the middle screen 3. For Multi-Monitor/SoftTH/cockpit-builders/Helios users : (this is you) This version will include a detailed instruction how to customize almost every aspect of the radio menu. Smaller, More Realistic Sun: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1526362&posted=1#post1526362 Realistic Sun 1.2.1 This version includes Mustang's Sky.FX changes and has a fine-tuned Rays.tga. It also includes the template I used to create the Rays.tga Instruction: Copy the 'Bazar' folder into your DCS World installation and allow to overwrite. Example path : C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Backup files are provided in 'original file DCS 1.2.0 sun'. Before/after video: All intensive test where made with HDR "Normal" and 1920x1080 16:9 - if is this isn't working like on the video for you and you want to change the point when the darkening of the HDR kicks in: open \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\shaders\sky\ skyQuad.fx and change in line #49 the "300.0". to a smaller value = later HDR or greater value = sooner HDR use steps of 10.0 and make a test in-game -than fine-tune it. Keep in mind that the HDR effect highly depends of your used FOV (Zoom) and how dark the actual scene is. Higher the FOV in the external views to take screen-shots with full sun. >>> R-Ctrl+NumPad/ <<< Many thanks to Mustang for showing me the right place to search for a fix! -PeterP Improved Smoke and Fire Modification: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1471145&postcount=23 here are the files of this "better fire & smoke" mod for testing purposes, it is still WIP., Feel free to add/change or tweak and let me know if you come up with any interesting results. installation: 1) backup the original files 2) "FireVehicle.lua" and "FlatSmokeCloud.lua" must be copied to \DCS World\Bazar\ParticleEffects\effects\ 3) "DCSFireTex.png" and "DCSFireTex2.png" must be copied to \DCS World\Bazar\ParticleEffects\textures\ as previously stated, the FireVehicle.lua is the only particle effects script that is used for all ground vehicles, ie when u destroy a ZSU AAA gun, it will also burn the same way. Because of this limitation, in terms of quality and variety it is not yet there, but still burning tanks and trucks looks nice. ps: this has been tested only on my own pc with specs below in my signature. New Roads: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=76526 High Resolution Road texture mod for DCS A-10C These mods introduce new high resolution road textures to DCS A-10C. There are 2 versions to choose from, the first is a new road surface and markings, the second is a used/worn surface and markings. docfu Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 My main goal is to have mods that improve the game, not mods that change the game. So, since the improved vehicles pack makes the game better, it's here. If there was, say, for instance, a "star wars" mod, that won't be here, because it alters the original game from its purpose...

docfu Posted August 13, 2012 Author Posted August 13, 2012 Nice collection! I suggest to you to do something like in this example and enhance the layout of your post: look at the spoilers... If you also would be able to maintain this within version changes ...and also kick the mod creators in the aas to bring their work up-to-date... via PM I bet It would be a sticky in no time ;) Thanks for the tips. Not sure about using spoiler tags for every entry. The original post with less than 15 entries has grown HUGE. It also means duplicating and sorting through a lot of forum entries which shouldn't be necessary if the mod developers keep their original posts up to date. The spoiler tags are definitely nice for previewing the updates/screenshots when available.

docfu Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 This should just be a linked list of user-recommended updates. It doesn't have to be the end-all repository for all information about them. That just means there is more stuff to sort through. I'll make sure if there are any additional add-on's they all fit in the first post.

docfu Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Is there any reason for keeping this list up to date? Or does the auto-updater automatically break mods? (Sorry, I've been gone for a few months...)
Kuky Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Auto-updater does restore all of the files user changed (except is some are new added files for example a 3D model might have new archive with textures for it) and make a backup of them so every time auto-update happens you will have to change the files back, and beware of some files that user changed are modified by Ed in newer version it has potential to create issues. So my recommendation with mods is... go easy on them unless you don't mind changing thing back and forth all the time. Some mods are worth the hassle (but not many), some are not.
