Soulres Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) Unfortunately, ED is the only source. well that sucks, why would ED use a website that is from a black listed country? wouldnt that mean anyone and everyones info isnt secure?also,is there just a place i could buy the Activation Key like from Steam? PeterP Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) you have to ask this your bank . - hey- its 2012! why should a member of the CIS be on a "blacklist" !? Edited August 16, 2012 by PeterP
Soulres Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 you have to ask this your bank . - hey- its 2012! why should be a member of the CIS on a "blacklist" !? the full thing they said was,it was from a list of black listed countries from master card, iran, iraq,Korea most, of Asia, ect. so places that i wouldnt want me money even visiting.
EtherealN Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) Use paypal. I don't understand what exactly you are saying though. SagePay is part of Sage group, a corporation that is headquartered in the United Kingdom. My Master Card works perfectly fine there. The only other country involved here is Russia, and well... Eagle Dynamics is a russian company. ;) and EDIT: well that sucks, why would ED use a website that is from a black listed country? wouldnt that mean anyone and everyones info isnt secure? Aside from the curious situation of your bank apparently having blacklisted the United Kingdom, no, it does not mean information isn't secure. The reason they might have for blacklisting is that criminal organizations run "skimming" operations; they tamper with an ATM to get a copy of your card, as well as a hidden camera that detects your PIN number. Then their accomplices use this information to make a duplicate card which is then used somewhere else, beyond the reach of the law. The payment is, in the case of transactions through services like Sage Pay, handled completely by the payment provider which, as mentioned, is a company in the United Kingdom. Eagle Dynamics does not handle the transaction. EtherealN Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Outside of sagepay and paypal, no, you're out of luck. Perhaps obtain a one-time prepaid card? I believe you can pick those up at like Walmart or something like that. (Never used one myself since they don't exist here - I believe they're usually meant for people who have too bad credit rating to get a "real" card.) As for where SagePay is: 3rd Floor, The Angel Building St John Street London Your bank is simply wrong. EtherealN Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Master Cards do work. That's what I've used. It's not Mastercard that blacklists anything here, it's the bank that clears the transaction (or not, as appears to be the case here). Another bank may very well have other policies - indeed does seem so, since others (including me) have no problem with MC. The blacklist in question may be based on advice from MC, but it's still the bank that clears or declines transactions. Another option would be to see if you can give funds to a friend and try their card (if they have another bank). It is very dangerous. Maybe you can arrange with ED or the responsible firm a google checkout purchase. I tried it before with a paypal-only company and they did an exception. Alternately, you could go for Amazon.com and get the DVD version and it is guaranteed to work because I've ordered loads from amazon with egypt issued cards and all got accepted. Since you live in Illinois, US, I suggest you go with Amazon.com EDIT: Ah, the mustang. Wait it out. I'm surprised your bank blacklisted the entire US/UK?!?!?! Soulres Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 EDIT: Ah, the mustang. Wait it out. I'm surprised your bank blacklisted the entire US/UK?!?!?! not the US or the UK, PAYSAGE must have something in a thirdworld country,VISA just said that the ip that linked to my card when i tried to complete the transaction (6xbtw) and they (and my bank) both said, the ip is comming from a black listed country,Not from the UK not from the US,places from middle east,Korea, parts of Asia.paysage might be in the UK but they must be routing their connection thru someplace that it shouldnt. i just bought music box parts From the UK today with no issue. i sent ED a ticket, but itll be '48' hours in about 2 minutes and i havent gotten a response.

Wolf Rider Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Visa pre-paid works (not that I'm a bad history, but because I just don't want a CC) The problem you're having maybe because it seems to be a debit mastercard card you're trying to use... banks would be a bit funny about transactions showing up from os. Russia isn't on any US blacklists for financial transactions (afaia), else we'd have all heard about it before. eg I had a short notice call for a job os and called my bank to ask which AMT's would be available to use with my debit only card. They said, "you're lucky you called, because if transactions had have shown up from where you are going, we would have shut down your card" so from that, expected duration os established so the bank didn't get twitchy Edited August 17, 2012 by Wolf Rider City Hall is easier to fight, than a boys' club - an observation :P "Resort is had to ridicule only when reason is against us." - Jefferson "Give a group of potheads a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke out of, and they'll quickly turn into engineers... its simply amazing." BigfootMSR Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Soulres, what bank issued you the MC out of curiousity? I have used MC, visa, and paypal here with no problems. You could also find out what type of prepaid, cards ED accepts and then get one of those. It wont be issued by your bank which is declining the transaction because it would be through a different bank and the funds pre-transferd from your current (non working) account. IF in the unlikely event that it does not work, you can easily get rid of the pre paid card. Just use it for your purchases, until its all used up :P DCS: A10C Warthog JTAC coordinate entry training mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99424/ DCS: Blackshark 2 interactive training missions http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612
