DCS World Updates thread

hey! how can I download this updates from another pc (mac) then copy to a pendrive and install in the pc where dcs is installed????

 

PS: just to clarify the pc where dcs is installed has no internet connection...

 

Is it really impossible to get the PC conncted to the Inet? I mean in days of Routers, switches, hubs, cables and WLAN and what not

Indeed, I think I'm back to or nearly back to where I was, FPS wise. Thanks very much for your hard work ED devs and thank you c0ff for this awesome auto-update feature! I hope you guys are seeing the benefit of your labor!

 

It seems to have slightly improved FPS for me too, so it's maybe 45-27-38 on Cold Start at Mozdok looking straight ahead-left-right on the ground at startup and 50-40-40 when flying away from the airfield.

 

Not a massive difference but every little counts and I'll do some more testing to see if the intermittent stutter is gone/reduced.

 

There's a 64-bit compatible beta of Radeon Pro just been released as well, so more scope for tweaking there ;)

 

EDIT: Actually I have to take that back unfortunately. Further testing showed it still drops to 21-23 when looking left at the start in Mozdok. Gettings lots of stutter too. Maybe this is only playable from a SSD (although there's no guarantee I won't get stutter after spending my money on one of those either of course).

IF it has anything to do with server load, then that is ONE of the possibilities. there might be multiple causes, but i can say for sure that it would try to download, and fail consistently at the same point in the progress bar, it would do it over and over while other guys in my squad were able to update at the very same time that i was failing, suggesting to me that it was NOT server load in my case.

 

this afternoon I tried it once, twice, then disabled antivirus and the 3rd time worked, and so i would suggest my example is pretty clear cut.

 

in my case my antivirus is Kaspersky.

 

Disabling Kaspersky solved my update problem as well. I guess it had something to do with reimbursing my a activation.

Anyone experiencing frame rate issues with the P51 guns with the latest build? Just hosted a dogfight server and had some frame-rate drops whenever they were firing. Or has this always been a problem?

Hey, can you guys please include changelogs with the updates. You can post them on this forum or include them in the auto updater.

It would help us to help you in finding the new bugs which might get introduced.

sorry dont understand that - I mean when I load any mission or set one up in the editor when it starts - im left with a transparent cockpit view with things like the entire gun in view but no panel instruments etc

If you people are experiencing missing cockpits it means the module has not installed correctly.

 

To remedy, install the module that is missing - then run the repair function in the DCS start menu entry.

Ok installed the module again, wasnt given the opportunity to run a "repair function" restarted the game, everything looks fine - start a mission and once I hit pause break Im sitting in an A10 it's transparent I can only see the gun in front of me, the runway and HAS etc. theres no sound and F2 F3 and F4 views are all normal - how can I get back to the previous version when at least I can fly. I've bought rudder pedals the Warthog throttle and stick and a trackIR and I can't even fly this bloody thing - come on guys help me out

Bigian, try not to be so negative. There is no reason to go back. The suggestion was to run the repair function after you updated the module. Go to Windows START, select ALL PROGRAMS, select EAGLE DYNAMICS, select DCS WORLD, then click the repair function.

 

See if that doesn't help.

This happened to me aswell. The cause was that i took a shortcut and didn't remove DCS world before i patched. After i removed DCS World, and reinstalled 1.2.1. Everything was fine.

ok I'll delete everything then install DCS world and then the 2 modules I own, the mustang and A10 is this right? Here are screen shots to show what I'm getting since I uploaded the latest updates and run the simulator. Any easy way I can save my logbook details and missions? Will I get asked for serial numbers etc? Thanks for any help - such a shame I was so looking forward to a relaxing sunday flying - instead I get computer angst :-(

Yes, they're in \Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor and \Saved Games\DCS\Missions respectively.

Oh well there we are, I did indeed delete everything off of my computer. I installed DCS world and then my 2 modules, that's me down to 7 installations on A-10 now thanks ED. However as Nate suggested I do I then ran the repair option from the start menu and the game started, I set up my Hotas, rudder pedals, Trakir etc etc and settled back to see if it would all work the way it was before I downloaded the updates.....

loaded a mission pressed fly and get this screen message;

 

 

Ive e-mailed the error report to your support guys as requested, no matter what I click on DCS then stops running and I'm back to my desktop then it restarts and gives me a very empty mission report.

 

So there we are, a fine simulator I invested all this kit for and now rendered unflyable by an update. I've lost yet another installation license, and what am I to do now - delete it all again and install the A10 but no P51 lose yet another intallation license and wait to see what happens then? Oh maybe not, perhaps I had better forget about my wasted Sunday and go to bed ready for work tomorrow. I certainly do feel negative now if I only sounded negative earlier - thanks again ED .

I suppose it's because you updated/repaired the game before the activation.

It would be great if you still have autoupdate.log(.old?) from that repair operation.

im still having issues with certain particle effects taking my Frame Rate from 70+ to Sub 10.

 

CBUs = Slide Show, Jettison Stores w/ Multiple CBUs = a lockup for a few seconds, and sub 10 frps until effects are off screen.

 

Crashing Plane (in this case a tanker), in MP we had a flight practicing refueling, tanker and a-10 were damage and fell to the ground, the resulting impact killed my frame rate to sub 10, but only when I had the white smoke from the crash site in view.

Please try to configure your connection client to ADSL 256, the other customers in the game should do the same...

 

Yesterday in my group have been doing tests and these problems have occurred when all configured LAN, we changed to 256k and zero stutters, lag, or stoppages. All perfect .. in the missión GudautaRush from STP-Dragon

 

Above this, I see only a specific problem from the player and not the simulator!!
