Currently, DCS_updater.exe checks for updates once per day.

When checking is not needed, the version is up to date or user refused to update it just runs the game as usual.

 

To force a check, use "Update DCS" in your Start menu.

when I uninstalled BS1 is deleted from the start menu folder ED. therefore do not have the file in DCS_UPDATE in start. I have to go in ''C:PROGRAMM etc etc''.. and when I click sull'update me boots directly into the simulator

i didn't get the message to update, should I try to update with the updater or is it too buggy?

Version ...6055 works much better for me than the previous version. Most of the annoying stutters appear to be gone...

i didn't get the message to update, should I try to update with the updater or is it too buggy?

 

I just used the updater in the start menu and it worked just fine now running ver 6055:thumbup:

DCS checks for update, finds new version, asks if I want to, I hit yes and gets an error message. Every time!

 

Manual update from start menu yields the same result.

FPS

 

Just trying to help the developers out...pre 1.21 patch I was pegging 60 FPS almost all the time. Last night updated to 1.21 and first flight was dismal FPS...so bad I just shut it down and went to bed, but guessing 15 FPS. Today, after the 6055 update...now getting between 38-55 but mostly around 40-42, so at LEAST a 33% drop across the board for me. I SO want to uninstall DCS A-10 and DCS BS2 and free up 15Gb of HD space, but I can't just yet. Hope it continues to be hunted down and fixed.

 

e8500 @ 4.2Ghz

GTX 570

8Gb RAM

Win 7 64

etc etc.

 

Settings in game, all high or on, MSAA 2x or 4x really no diff in FPS, TSSAA on and off no real diff, tree shadows on off no real diff, preload distance 150K and 90K no real difff, vsync on, shadows on but off no diff, HDR on but off no diff. Civ Traffic no diff regardless of setting. Water no diff regardless of setting.

Same old server list crash.

Another fix is in the pipeline

 

thanks for the update. MP is dead in the water for me. Hopefully this will get prioritized. this will kill the sim faster than anything.

when i first installed 1.2.1 I was getting 10fps average maybe 12 if i was lucky, now with 6055 I get 13 fps on medium and lowering the msaa, I also am getting the issues when you start the missions that everybody else are getting, takes i get maybe 1 fps during the first 5 seconds, then it freeze (with sound) for about 10 seconds and then it goes back to normal.

 

It did seem smoother but that may be due to the extra fps.

It would be nice if you post a screen shot of the error window only - as is it's hard to decipher.

Or even better - post the autoupdate.log file.

c0ff, I keep getting upload error every time I upload the autoupdate.log and the autoupdate.log.old files. Sorry have to do it this way.

Loading times

 

Installed dcs world and a10c 1.2.1, consumed another activation as everyone, updated automatically on first run. Everything seems to work ok except the loading times keep being too long. Like 3 minutes to load a mission.

 

I have an amd x4 955, gtx 560, 4G or ram and windows 7 64

Maybe the long load times / stuttering is something to do with compiling shaders or something? Seems like this happened on another beta version. Then FPS returns to normal after a few runs of the game or had to delete temptextures or something? my memory is fuzzy on this...

 

Is there a way to repair start menu shortcuts? BS1 removal deleted mine too.....annoying
