Hey all what settings do you all have as far as the"DCS World" environment rendering?

Just want to get a feel for where everyone is at from the low user to the high end user.

Thanks all for any answers.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Just find the screenshot in the DCS folder instead of pasting into paint (which is what I assume you were doing) -- I can't get that to work either.

The pasting into paint doesn't work because DCS is doing the capture, not windows.

Ah, I see. I never thought there was exclusivity on capturing like that.

It's not a matter of being exclusive. DCS or any app can trap keyboard input or read it and pass it through to other apps. In most cases trapping the keys is useful but their are exceptions.

Any HDR setting should have exactly the same impact, if any, on performance.

EDIT: All you are changing is the characteristics of the color.

Thank you cichlidfan, I´ll try some settings with HDR today. I can´t notice any difference between OFF and Normal settings at all... Maybe it´s my monitor. I just notice some diference with Cold and Warm options.

I'm using a hand-me-down workstation. Not so good for DCS, but very good at other tasks...

System Specs:

Dell Precision T5400

Processors - dual Xeon E5420's (2.5GHz, quad core, 12M Cache, 1333 MHz FSB)

RAM - 20 GB PC2-5300 ECC

GFX - EVGA GTX 560 1GB (factory OC)

Drives - 1x 320 GB WD Caviar

2x 160 GB WD 10K RPM Raptor (software RAID 0)

In game settings:

attachment.php?attachmentid=71710&d=1349751680

Nvidia Settings:

Anisotropic Filtering: Application Controlled

FXAA: Off

AA gamma: On

AA mode: Application Controlled

AA Transparency: Off

Max Prerendered frames: Application Controlled

Multidisplay: Single display

Power Management: Prefer Max

Texture filtering - Ansio sample: Off

Texture filtering - Neg LOD bias: Allow

Texture filtering - Quality: Quality

Texture filtering - Trilinear Opt: Off

Threaded opt.: Auto

Triple Buffering: Off

V Sync: 3d application setting

Framerates:

A-10 instant action -- East Georgia - Spring: ~40

Su-27T instant action -- ground attack: 20-30

A-10 Georgian Hammer campaign: 10-25 (usually around 15 in the battle area)

All settings are undergoing constant tweaking, but I'm fairly happy with what I have now. I'm pretty sure my bottleneck right now is the 2.5GHz clock speed, but there's no way to OC this rig.

Any suggestions on improving these settings would be appreciated.

Good idea for such thread. Many times I've searched for "inspiration" what setting to chose. Here are mine.
