scotchegg Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I'm pretty sure this is answered elsewhere but couldn't find it: Is the FC3 Mig 29 going to be available as a standalone module at some point?
Bourrinopathe Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 There's no official announcement that I know of and no ETA, but most probably, yes. Every FC3 aircraft is going that way. The new 6DOF cockpit is there, the external model is WIP, the only thing really missing is an AFM/PFM. A stand alone module looks like a natural evolution. /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///

jonss Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I have the 3 forms of DCS World in stalled as I am evaluating them for my own interest and where I should best spend my money. I have FC3 installed in v1.26+ and v2.0 but I have attempted to install into v1.5 with no positive result. Is FC3 compatible with v 1.5? Jon
OnlyforDCS Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 All the currently released modules are compatible with 1.5 and 2.0. All of them should work in those two versions if you have purchased them from the DCS website. (Note, don't buy multiple copies of a module for different versions! Thats not how it works!) Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Thanks for your response. I have just purchased NTTR for v2 and am about to purchase the A10C if I can get over the shock of todays US/AU$ exchange rate. I'll be paying AU74.00. I'm not complaining. Well worth it for the pleasure it will bring. Jon
cmorris975 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I have bought the steam version of FC 3. I am wondering: if I download the stand alone version of DCS World, will I have to buy FC 3 again if I want to run it there? The reason I would download the stand alone version of DCS World is so I can buy, play and support 3rd party betas that are not on steam yet. Thanks, Chris
scotth6 Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 HI, I am having trouble installing Flaming Cliffs 3 and Mig-15 in to DCS World 1.5. Neither are showing up in the module manager, and when I try to install FC3 with the latest module download it says I need V1.2 installed and then closes the installation. I have it installed already in V1.2. I haven't yet tried the Mig-15 installer in V1.5, maybe that will work differently, but it does not show in the module manager. I also have the boxed version of A-10C. Can I install the module into DCS World 1.2 and 1.5 and use the box serial? Thanks,
OnlyforDCS Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Make sure you have updated to the latest version of 1.5 (use the DCS updater in the start menu shortcuts). Also make sure you are logged in game. In 1.5 you need to use your DCS login inside the game. You only need to do this once. You can do this in the module manager section, or on the main screen (third button next to options and module manager). After this your purchased modules will show in your module manager and you will be able to download them. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
scotth6 Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 HI, Thanks for the reply. I just installed DCS World 1.5 today using DCS_World_OpenBeta_1.5.0.45208.37-11.exe. The updater then run and updated it to Version 1.2.16.43180. No matter what I tried Flaming Cliffs 3 and Mig-15 were not visible anywhere in any section of the module manager. I followed the advice from this thread to install the modules manually with the command line, which worked: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156005 Just wondering, If I uninstalled DCS World 1.5 and reinstalled using freshly downloaded files, would the module activations remain, or would I have to use up another activation? ps my login keeps timing out before I can finish a post. I just had to write this twice,as it disappeared twice after I hit Post Quick Reply. I copied the text the second time,as I didn't want to lose the post again. The login is timing out in a matter of minutes. Cheers, Scott
nayu05 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Hello, I have a question about FC3 plane's "control indicator" (the little UI that show the position of the stick we get with "lCtrl Enter" I use a 3 screens setup and i am use to move it from the far left screen to the center screen by editing a lua file (it is easy to do for the blackshark that i mainly use). (Reference for Ka50: "x:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\ControlsIndicator_page.lua") Sadly i cant find such lua file for FC3 planes. Luckily this tool is not as important for FC3 in general so i can live with its current position, still it would help to make it more usable now that i flight more and more with the flankers (that need triming a lot) Thanks

spikes525 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 hi everyone, maybe this question haved already reply but i guess i have buyed FC3 in steam but maybe i don't understand or doing something wrong but: where is this plane: FC3 features the F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, Su-33, MiG-29A, MiG-29S and Su-25. yeah i can fly some in campaing but i don't see it elsewhere, no quick start or trainning, nothing thank's for explanation
Zabuzard Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 They do not all have quick start or training missions on board. Can you start the Mission Editor, place those vehicles and enter them? If that's possible, everything is correct.
spikes525 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Thank's, i finaly found, but i send a refund request and it be accepted. I'l just wan't the SU-27, so i buy it
D4n Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Guys when will we see realistic missile navigation, like R-27ER, ET, R-77 for example NOT flying into the ground when target flying towards ground? Sryan Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 No they don't. Having an altimeter that the guidance computer can interpret is going to add more weight and óne more thing that can go wrong on an already very expensive weapon to add a capability that may be useful in one out of a hundred to one out of a thousand shots in the real world. Being able to proficiently detect the contours of the earth would require a radar altimeter as well. Check my F-15C guide
GGTharos Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 How about you present something that is in fact realistic and not calling your feelings/assumptions/other fantasy realistic? :) Guys when will we see realistic missile navigation, like R-27ER, ET, R-77 for example NOT flying into the ground when target flying towards ground? GGTharos Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 It's also completely unnecessary in most cases. No they don't. D4n Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 It's also completely unnecessary in most cases. What, Tharos, don't you know it's easy to dodge missiles in DCS when you're diving towards the ground? GGTharos Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I know what happens in DCS :) You still don't need any form of TFR on missiles to deal with it. They're AAMs, not cruise missiles. You don't need to measure distance from the ground or know anything about the ground, other than your own ground-speed so that you can implement a doppler filter. Want your missile not to dive so much? That was solved a very, very long time ago ... without altimeters or anything else of the sort :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
