I've noticed that as soon as i launch a mission my gpu gets down clocked from 725 Mhz to 50 Mhz while the 'splash screen' in up.. after a couple of mins it bounces back up, very odd, not sure if it might be an influence / side effect.

Yes, it's the splash screen part that takes longer. It takes several minutes for my desktop to convert to Basic mode (it turns off Aero), which is something one would expect should happen immediately upon loading the splash screen.

What MadTommy described might be the cause: the splash screen (for some reason) affects GPU clock speeds, which slows down the loading process.

I also noticed this but when i loaded the sim , disconnect from server and go back in the load time is almost instant. My guess is that it really is loading a lot in the memory and it depends on your HDD setting how long this takes. Mine is a radi system in a laptop and yeah it takes around 5 min too load

Something is wrong. It definitely should be <1min.

i have this problem ( well problem ) im willing to wait 5 minutes

but i never had it with 1.2.1 including all the modules

so i am not sure where its happening

it could be that helios is interfering but i cant tell that for a 100%

EDIT:

in game every seems to be making progress loads way faster than before

Not sure if my post adds to the discussion or not, so apologies in advance:

Does this apply to single player, multi-player or both? I haven't played multi player in months. Also, I haven't yet had a chance to try version 1.2.2 as I'm dogsitting for my parents this weekend.

Anyway, I never timed it, but I think it's only somewhere between 20-40 seconds for me to load a mission in the A-10 for me in version 1.2.1

It loads notably longer than with 1.2.1, but not really an issue for me (have SSD).

Still it is strange to load at least twice as long as before.

I need a dcs.log from a long loading session.

Start Multiplayer, wait for the lobby to appear (If i understand it correctly, this takes quite some time) and exit. Then, post the dcs.log file.

Thanks.

and this is not just multiplayer, when I am loading a single player mission the transition from clicking the mission and loading takes a longer amount of time.

Confirmed that this happens in Single player as well. I don't (currently) play online, and have noticed long load times every time I launch a single player mission (any airplane, any mission - training, instant action...).

It's so easy:

1) Start DCS Multiplayer from windows menu

2) press Cancel on Login to master window

3) press Exit

4) post dcs.log

That's all.

Sorry, it took me a while to find where the dcs.log file is being held.

In the attachment is dcs.log (made as per instructions - multiplayer) and dcs.log.old (from last night - singleplayer; maybe there's other irrelevant data in there).
