EDIT 4 (last one)

Bug introduced in 1.2.2 has finally been ironed out in 1.2.3 - Good job, ED and thanks ! :)

Original post:

Pardon me for opening a new thread on this, I know that there are multiple threads about that bug already but I have not found in these threads a post by ED simply acknowledging the issue.

For the planes, reassigning the trim controls somewhat fixes the issue, but it is not pretty. Even worse, unless one is willing to disable FFB entirely, the Shark is unflyable.

I think people can understand that sim software is complex, that hardware manufacturers do not always make the life of the developers easy and that fixing things may take more time than breaking something else but please, at least communicate about this issue.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT:

Just to be clear, this thread was opened after update 1.2.2 swapped the pitch and roll trim effects on the G940 stick, or mirrored the left and right roll effects if the user ticks the checkbox "invert axes" in the FFB options window.

EDIT3:

According to Sobek, ED is aware of the issue and will address it in due time

Yeah fix it and 1000 other things too...

P.S.

The support ticket for this bug sent to ED was left unanswered for months and finally closed automatically.

Don' t know if buying any supportless neverending DCS-alpha-modules in future...

I used to play with "center trim" option enabled... from the days I had X52 I guess or out of complete ignorance. I found out that it should be unchecked for best FFB Ka50 trim experience... but it was only after 1.2.2......

Boy, what I laughed when on the ground and trimming front stick... it moved to the left.

I am glad I wasn't airborne!!

Nevertheless I broke 5 or six pairs of rotors in mid flight flying without trim... not my fault... I am not paying for those Ka50s... it was the trim sir!!

please ED fix (revert it) this bug... I was moved to Su25T squadron... all Kamovs are grounded now... sniff sniff...

Going on 2 months now.....Beta 1.2.4 in the DCS world video...

This is why people aren't to excited about the future. All these projects, all of them half finished, G940 users left out to dry with a game breaking bug that was fine before.

This is getting old fast.

Don't worry though FC4 will be out in 2 months for 29.99 to finally make all DCS modules compatible

and in 2 weeks we will be graced with Combined warfare module bringing all modules into the module of the module that is required to have all modules so you can run the modules in a persistent module, where, when combined with FC7 will allow all modules to communicate with the main DCS UNIVERSE modules module

Good news I guess, Groove Pm'd me and asked for a video of the problem as they couldn't replicate it on their latest dev build. So I sent a video and explanation. Hopefully we get a fix soon, or, as they couldn't replicate it, it is already fixed in their builds (magic).

Guys, thanks to Shadylurkers help we tried to reporoduce the issue.

It seems to be fixed in our 1.2.3 version. Nevertheless, please describe exactly the probem you have in this thread.

The following seems to be fixed:

With FFB swap on, If I Press the trim button, hold the stick all the way to the left, and then release the trim button the FFB puts the stick all the way to the right. The Y axis is correct.

With FFB swap off, If I press the trim button, hold the stick all the way to the left and then release the trim button the FFB puts the stick all the way to the right as well.

Be aware to adjust the sensitivity in the Logitech FFB menu.

Groove,

The best plane to test this issue is the P-51. The other planes lack a trim indicator so, depending on how the controls are set up, a player can be fooled into thinking things are OK because the stick moves in the direction of trim. When in fact the actual trim may be moving in a different direction.

So here's what happens when the trim axes are correct (ie, up = up) and FFB "Swap Axis" is unchecked:

Apply Nose Up trim: Trim wheel moves aft as it should. However the FFB drives the stick RIGHT.

Apply Nose Dn trim: Trim wheel moves fwd as it should. However the FFB drives the stick LEFT.

Apply Rt Ail. trim: The aileron trim moves clockwise as it should. However the FFB drives the stick AFT.

Apply Lt Ail. trim: The aileron trim moves counter-clockwise. However the FFB drives the stick FWD.

Now, the player can trick this in several ways:

He can check the "Swap Axis". But oddly the results are the same as above.

He can change the trim values so that Left Hat = Down Trim, etc. But this will only mask the issue in jets. The plane is still being trimed 90 degrees away from where the player desires but because the stick is moving in the direction he wishes if "feels" like he is trimming correctly. What he is really doing is flying one messed up plane.

I have no idea what happens in the Ka50 because since DCS World 1.2, my performance has been so bad that I have given up DCS and haven't set up my controls for the Black Shark. But I still love the sim and have since Flanker 1. Hope this helps.

Groove, I believe that the best explaination of the mentioned bug on this forum can be found in this Suchacz's post. And it behaves like that for all DCSW modules.

However if the bug is gone in the latest build, that would be awesome news!

Please don't forget the SU25-T G940 roll left issue. In addition to the KA-50 trim swap issue, there is a SU25T roll left issue when FF is enabled for G940 users.

Thanks...

Can you explain it a little more, please?
