Megagoth1702 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Thanks for doing all the testing guys. A rather ugly workaround, stripping the mission naked like that. I hope a fix with the next version of DCS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] System specs:2500k @ 4.6 GHz 8GB RAM HD7950 OC'd Win7 x64 Posting tracks to make your DCS better - attention bump incoming!
ENO Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Any update at all on this? We're being patient and polite about it but having to tear the guts out of all our missions just to connect is getting old. I understand fixes take time- but communication is an important commodity that helps preserve interest. Thanks. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. ED Team Wags Posted December 7, 2012 ED Team Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) There have been some old problems in MP that were previously hidden. When the client code was recently reworked to initialize faster systems, the problem came to surface. This is being resolved now. Also, please keep in mind that DCS is undergoing radical changes... particularly with the inclusion of Combined Arms (and to support future modules). This is also highlighting issues that we doing our best to rectify. I understand how frustrating this can be right now during this transition period, and I can only ask for your patience as we try to create something that I have personally been dreaming about for many years. ENO Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Wags... I can't come close to expressing how relieved I am that the 15 pages of this thread have not only got your attention but that it may have also helped to provide information that assists in resolving some of the MP issues. We'll do our part and be patient in hopes that you'll get it even HALF as good as it sounds like you want it to be... I suspect in that form it'll still be twice as good as any of us expect. OGREMAN Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Thank You Wags, It is very encouraging when senior members take time out to acknowledge problems and offer explanations of progress being made. ED Team Wags Posted December 7, 2012 ED Team Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) senior member? roflmao... isnt Wags like the head honco programmer/producer man himself.. Not really. There is the owner of the company Nick Gray, then the director of Eagle Dynamics Igor Tishin, and then basically want amounts to four producers (chizh, asso, jim and myself). Yes, I am dreaded "middle management" ;) Edited December 7, 2012 by Wags Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
ENO Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 So you're basically responsible for addressing and relieving pressure from both directions! It's tough being in the middle... I feel your pain. Wags, currently there are a lot of servers running just about full time- full of people who want to help and get frustrated with kicking their tires. Is there ANYTHING at all that you guys need us to do on our end- to generate any type of behavior in particular and provide logs / info from those experiences? I know you have testors to do this sort of thing- but a shout out to the community may help provide you with a wider variety of info. Perhaps I'm reaching- but one thing I have seen from the community is if you have high priority things you need to work on, and we can help you work on them... then there's no doubt you'll get all the help from the community you need. If we knew what you were prioritizing many of us could focus our bug reporting or error reporting in that area. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. Rider1 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) I don't mind being patient and I don't even give it a second thought really. I have never griped about Nevada, am waiting patiently for a new DCS fast mover, and looking forward to your dream as well. It's when ED pushes out updates and patches that make things worse and break things that were previously working, is where my frustration comes to a head. Did none of the testers spend time logging in to pub servers and seeing how the connectivity and stability was or drop a couple of CBU canisters and get a slideshow like the rest of us are experiencing? Flight sims live and die by smooth game play. These are show stoppers for some of us. Edited December 8, 2012 by Rider1
