zahry Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Received mine today, and experienced a slight problem with the plastic screw thread (hope the term is correct, or at the very least clear enough). It was too large to fit the grey metal screwing ring of the stick, thus preventing correct fastening. Had to spend 2 minutes with a cheap knife correcting that, and now I'm wondering how I could even fly without it. The aforesaid little issue aside, everything is made of top notch quality material, and I really doubt I'll have any problem at all with it at any point along the line. Thank you so much for your work ! EDIT: too late (early) to post, sorry I butchered English, guys Hi Thanks for the feedback and glad everything works ok now :-) I've readjusted the size and I'll have to replace my joystick again to be able to test the fit and connections properly (looks like no2 will be relieved from service)
daribouca Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I should really stress out to anyone pondering about buying this that the 'issue' I had should absolutely *not* weight in the balance, it was but a feedback the the craftsman
*Rage* Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I'm working on the solution - the project is on hold at the moment until I finish the demo center (need to do some debugging) :-) Cool, what is it?! 9.JG27 DavidRed Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 yeah, i would really like to know as well, as this is the only problem which prevents me of buying the extension..
hreich Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Just a quick update. Received my extension yesterday, 12 cm long, everything worked fine after quick setup. I must say my hover ability in Huey finally improved. The stick feels less stiff (maybe a bit too much, 10 cm would be enough extension I presume to keep some of the stiffness of warthog stick). My kudos to everyone at simpit technologies.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia
mrniel Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Arrived today tuesday 11th, 3 or so days from NZ and a week hold at local custom office. lol. Attached in seconds, worked perfect, increased heli control 10 fold. If you are serious about learning to fly the huey, this is a must upgrade IMHO. 10 cm, usually thats not long enough to make anyone happy, but in this case it is perfect :) Thanks for making this part available for other simmers. Mike
Havoc04 Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 OMG i am torn tbh... don't know weather to get a 10cm or 15cm. Any help GREATLY appreciated :)
cichlidfan Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 OMG i am torn tbh... don't know weather to get a 10cm or 15cm. Any help GREATLY appreciated :) IMHO, a longer extension will provide more control so if it will still fit in your setup comfortably then go longer. Flim Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) Well, I can print the two adapters (upper /Lower), add a shaft, and you are good to go... no springs. I would do those 2 parts for $60 ( $30 each)- you can get a shaft for $12 or less. That way if you ever decide to add springs then I can send you the spring adapter later. Edited August 3, 2013 by Flim
hannibal Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 thanks for reply.. what are details of the shaft, or where can i get shaft if i do purchase? find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179

hannibal Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I will send the part number... McMaster Carr Is 9 bucks plus shipping. I'm looking at getting bent shafts made; totally exchangeable. so to have a functional setup, without the springs, you are saying i need 60$ for your adapters, 10-15$ for the shaft? do i have to deal with the PS/2 connector thing? cause everything is adding up.. lol find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Flim Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Well, nothing is free these days... I have a cable that I will throw in, PS2. Although they are cheap... like 1.95 on amazon.
hannibal Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 i have PS/2 cables. i just like to know how much it is all together, because everything that you are telling me sounds like its easier just to get the new zealand extension for a bit more money. find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Flim Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 If you like, send me a pm and I can help you decide which way you want to go.
tonym Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Use with other aircraft Has anyone used the extended stick with say the A10C. I want to extend mine for the UH1, but don't want to have to keep changing the rig to suit different aircraft.
metalnwood Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Tony, you dont have to. An extension works excellently for the a10 and thats what the extensions were initially made for.
hannibal Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 metalnwood! i want to buy your extension!!!!!!!!! i hope you make them again... find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
