World BS english RICARDO HD Blue pit

I have enjoyed the KA50, but the HD and Blue Pit really makes a difference in the sim.

Hi, just got thumbs up from RICARDO on dropping this zip-file prepared for JSGME, it includes Devrims compass-fix and description.lua (and can also be used if you're not using JSGME - just do step 3-5 from the post above):

Ricardo, perhaps you could put a link to something in the first post as it's quite a pain looking through every page to find the correct download (this was also partly why I thought it worth uploading this version, so that there's a download link at/near the end of the thread, of course that won't last for long once a few more posts are made!)

I'd love to see ED make this the default BS2 pit. Kinda annoying there's so much great content available that we have to jump through hoops to install. I've stopped bothering with mods due to all the updates coming out for DCS world. Wish the black shark would get some more love though :(

A really great pit, (thanks Ricardo, Devrim, tietze). Had very little use until now of DCSW, just done a fresh install after upgrading to SSD & 12gb ram. Dropped this mod into JSGME (also my first use) after renaming the "english" folder in the normal cockpit location, and it works and looks perfect. Has given me the confidence to try out a few more mods. Just got to learn how too fly it now, thats the hard part.

P.S. This forum has a wealth of information, and has solved a multitude of problems that I have come up against.

Just discovered one error in the blue pit - on the left back panel (File: Ka-50 Panel L.dds) the hydraulic pressure for the wheel brake is spelled "WHELL BRK", pretty easy to fix (could just copy the "E" and place it above the extra "L"), but using gimp, what format and what compression would you save the texture in?

 

Edit: just to answer that myself - Compression set to "BC1/ DXT1" and set Mipmaps to "Generate mipmaps".

These texture files is the work of Ricardo and further adjustments by Devrim
packed into a JSGME-friendly zipfile for easy installation. I have done
nothing but packaged and zipped the files together and corrected a spelling
mistake on the left rear panel.

1) Move or remove the following files:

Why don't you use the BC3/DXT5 compression as skins? Just asking because I use the BC3/DXT5 for my skins. Is the BC1/ DXT1 better than the BC3/DXT5? :huh:

I too use DTX1 in some textures which has no alpha channel.

As I have come to undstand it DXT1 saves the least amount of bits and as a result has the best compression ratio. DXT5 provides alpha gradient transitions, but unless it is actually used I guess it is a waste of bits.

I read somewhere in here many months ago about the enhancements that are expected in 2.0 that have the potential to make these non unneccissary,,,,, maybe I mis interpreted?

I believe that all cockpit mods will be able to used with newer versions of DCS World.

I'm not questioning whether or not they can be used, I'm just wondering if they will be beneficial with the 2.0 enhancements? I don't think I'm going to take the time thought to try and find the thread that implies that,,, that would likely takes days LOL,,, anyway,,, keep on truckin!
