usually the servers have a teamspeak address in the short description at the bottom of the master server list. you can join TS to get the password.

edit: jsut had a quick look and OCB, AEF ,TOG, and the 76th servers are all un-pass-worded

what update do u have i have 1.1.1.1

if you are having issues updateing, REDOWNLOAD the game from the site (before ou think or say anything!) they did a 'REDO' (my words) of their copy they give out to us, i didnt see anything anywhere until i asked someone at the 104th TS. Uninstall, Download , Install do that and you will see the 104th Server with no password everyone is really nice (unlike others) and might be able to get away without using a MIC.

I can remember when it was quite easy to find a server to join, quite easy to find people to fly with and quite easy to enjoy MP.

Truth is, adding FC3 planes to DCS has ruined all that. You can hate me for saying it and argue all you want, but the proof is right there on the server list.

the SpareTimePilots servers are always awesome, I go there myself. They do Freeflight missions, and combat missions, but best of all, they have multiple servers. :D

I agree 100%

I'm with you guys on that- adding the FC3 aircraft added nothing to the gameplay of World... It created a lot of balance issues.

Marine, I do run 1.1.1.1 a bit on the firehouse- mostly just training missions so people can use JTAC and tankers (when they actually work). I have a few other missions that were created during the 1.1.1.1 that are a bit more involved- but I don't run those much as it can cause frustration amongst the drop in community who are (often) quite content to just go into a mission, fly around, blow stuff up, and leave again.

Anyway- come check it out. We're open and unlocked. There is also a NEW brother site to the Firehouse called "Hollo Pointe" that will be unlocked as well. The Firehouse may lock up occasionally in the future, but for the most part the doors will be wide open. Wrecking Crew is opening the new server on new hardware and will feature his missions. I run his missions as well, and have his blessing to change things around a little within the missions. I also occasionaly host missions from other awesome editors... some of them are better played behind a closed door-

Anyway, feel free to come check us out!

Big thanks to the 159th for leaving their server up again. It was great to actually be able to fly again. Of course, it then occured to me there were only KA-50 and A-10 in the mission... the good old pre-FC3 days! (nobody ramming or shooting anything and everything up, ect) . Sad but true!

Sad but true!

What is sad but true is that you guys had it too easy before FC3.

I see lots of complaints from air to ground guys about getting shot down by fighters.

Why the hell should we not shoot you down?

To many people expect a free pass just because they are flying air to ground, then taunt or get abusive to the person that has shot them down.

Gentlemen, you are flying in a simulated 'War Zone'. If you climb into the cockpit of a air to ground asset in a server that allows fighters then you MUST accept the risks to you and your aircraft. You deserve no free pass at all.

If you want to fly somewhere and be perfectly safe from any air threats... play in a locked server or a server with no fighters in it.

I'm not blind to your situation though and sometimes I feel for you guys. To me though the real problem is air to ground guys thinking they can just carry on with their mission without planning around the A2A threat.

I see them trundle along straight towards the target area, no map of the earth flying or nothing and then bitch when they get shot down!

Obviously I understand that if the server is full of A2G people and someone joins in a fighter then shoots you all down that's far from enjoyable... and I think that kind of stuff is not on either.

But please....... Don't expect any special treatment just because you decided to fly slow in a server that has a good mix of air to air and air to ground.

Keeping yourself alive is your responsibly, if your in a server with fighters in it and you let one of them get close enough to kill you... its your fault.... not FC3's

fc 3 has introduced more co ordination between flights and flyers.

As Mav has stated, its about planning and being aware and accepting that you are easy pickings for fast movers.

doesn't mean you have to make it easy for them though.

Thanx for the compliments Smil. We were having some hardware issues whit our server the past months and finally got it resolved.

So as of now you should be able to see it open to the public a lot more often now.

Aircraft availeble in the missions can vary greatly for the moment but given the nature of our squad, eventually all missions should have the following aircraft;

SU-25

SU-25T

KA-50

A-10C

SU-33

SU-27

As OPFOR expect;

A10C

F-15C

MIG-29G

ofcourse, nothing set in stone and can vary per mission.

~S~ And don't forget to use our public Team Speak 3 server;

Funny thing is I've spent the last 3 weeks enjoying fc3/dcs combined servers with everyone conforming to rules. Yesterday I hopped into a DCS only server for the first time in a while and promptly got TKd by some bored gimp.

Those of us running the open servers deal with this on occasion but even though it doesn't happen often- considering the time involved in just getting a plane ready to go on task... the effects are significant.

HUGE props to SPEED who has provided slmod functionality that allows us to reactively and proactively ban such cretins from the server. My only complaint is that server hosts don't share the information amongst themselves.

Seriously?

That's bad.

We should resurrect the Commanders Round Table - catered well for just such eventualities, facilitating communication between Server and Squad admins.

It has been several years since I tried an open server. Mostly, people are good, but I seem to find the big a-holes and jerks..

case in point, I just tried an open server for the first time in several years. I quit flying other servers and open servers, because of jerks. Well I tried an open server, it was list as training for all, I figured it might be fun get in fly have fun and practice. Wrong! I jumped in started my P-51 engine and all of a sudden I was strafed badly,,, I then came back with a new plane and thewsame jerkoff was circling and coming back. I wil never ever again go to other servers,,,,

Our squad has been inviting and sharing, letting people join campaigns and such... but we don't just screw people while they start engines we don't even screw with you when you take off...

Some things never change... I guess I am getting old and forgetful, stupid me thought people we better after all the idiots were told to stop being stupid .. apprently they never wised up..

I doubt the people who run that server had that in mind for people to join and ruin their server... I won't name anything... but everyone knows who they are..

Open servers are actually pretty entertaining. I don't resent being shot down. I was nobbled 3x on Saturday by the same guy. The only annoying thing is when your own team doesn't bother flying CAP and just mindlessly PvP. Greifers can be avoided mostly, the map is too large for them to cover.

If you are just looking to fly around, train in a new aircraft, Air to air refueling practice or even enjoy a race course, you can check out the Virtual Aerobatics Public server. All aircraft have been emptied of weapons and unable to resupply missiles and bombs. If someone is somehow caught firing weapons they are banned permanently from the server. Of course, if weapons are what you are wanting to practice, then yes, will need to find another server.
