It was not my intention to flaming against FC3 players or yelling for a "free way" to my tgts!!!

I just want to bring some suggestions for a future mission design.

Im 90% flying the bs. (still 1.1.1.1 and world) and I had no problems to wait on clearance to advance from a game or side commander or something like that.

I can also imagine that this server get closed and after regsitration i get the pw and a specific objective (sead, cas whatever). Im just thinking out loud.

but 2 ka´on red against 5 figters in blue i guess is not what this mission want to be when i read the briefing

 

That's the nature of the beast, nothing you can do with what side people want to fly on and what aircraft. Start putting restrictions like that and people will go fly somewhere else. Best thing you can do is hope that more people join the server. Stuff like that happened to me all the time, just waited a little bit and more people came in.

I had same experience sometimes with BS1(FC2).

But now with DCS world and Slmod it shouldnt be a problem to add some AI-CAP.

Maybe when A10/Ka-50 clients join a server and they have no fighters over their target zone they could request AI support via slmod. Something like: "request CAP at target zone 2".

It's all very good speaking about all these options, but the problem is stability, once DCS reaches an acceptable level in multiplayer we could start looking at adding more interesting features to our missions.

Right , normally a mission is won when certain ground forces or ground force tasks are eliminated correct ?

 

So , your saying , its ok for the Ka-50 to take out the very thing that wins a mission , and the other side has to sit and watch ?

 

War is war , unless we are not playing a war game ?

 

If I see a Ka-50 , its getting it , full stop .

 

I mostly fly A-10C , if I get popped by an enemy fighter , thats life and I dont whinge about it .

 

If you dont like Ka-50 getting shot down , express that in your server brief .... but thats not going to happen now , is it ? Maybe you could say , no Ka-50 should be shot at unless their side has at least 1 fighter on their side .

No issue as a KA-50 if you stick to the weeds, there are plenty of hidey holes that make it hard for fighter pilots to shoot at you. Sneaking around like a ninja means im yet to be shot down by a fighter pilot, mainly because I dont get caught doing the dirty on the groundies :)

 

Dont sit in one spot either, move around!

So you know why,

Its how you fly,

Not the other guy,

So dont be sly,

Change how you try,

Go in real shy,

Else you might die

I agree 100%.

 

When I fly to a target area in my Ka-50 I am feet off the deck, less than 10 meters, usually. They should make the trees real! LOL!

 

I do not fly straight into a target area using the pre-defined waypoint path.

 

And I could care less if I have air cover or any kind of team support. In real war this would be crazy. In real war, an air attack is defined using a whole mess of various aircraft types to accomplish a mission. I have yet to see used in any FC2 or DCS dedicated mission use of aircraft electronic jammers in front of a raid, as an example.

 

My favorite technique is to hide just off the top of a ridge, usually in a mess of hills and valleys.

 

I do it, it is dumb, and I am just asking for it---hovering in clear space, not hiding behind anything, in clear "sight" of any enemy radar looking for me.

 

My 1st solo sortie out is usually just recon by myself looking for the enemy. Best way for me to know who the enemy is, is to get shot at, then I know what is what and nobody complains about me teamkilling.

 

I know enough about how other sims' guys like to feel a guy out, then switch sides and they come looking for me. Happened just yesterday on another server. Please, no disrespect meant, but I tend to fly solo and keep to myself and not tell / show where I am.

 

You should implement a 12 hour or so no team switching sides limit to curtail this.

 

104th's server' missions are best there is in DCS and I love it!

 

Been flying Ka-50 not quite a year. At age 61 I tend to just concentrate on one aircraft because of the memory issues us older guys experience as we age. I am just starting to get good enough with the Shark to enjoy the combat and yes, I do die a lot. But DieHard means I never quit, I just keep coming back for more.

 

I am still learning the Shark and will be for years to come.

 

Weapons restrictions? Who cares? Not me.

 

Quit whining about stupid stuff!! If you are afraid of a good fight, take up knitting as a hobby.

Hello, it's been many days I tryed to join 104th server but I'm always disconnected while loading the mission. I read old posts talking about file check by server but it was for FC2. I can join 51st server without any problem and didn't find recent informations about this file check ... Is there a post with recent information and configuration required to join 104th server ?

IC checks on the 104th cover the following:

One thing I've learned is to never dip under 20 meters because it kicks up dust and gives you away easier. I agree with staying low though. :-) 104th's is an awesome server. Definitely my favorite place to fly right now.

 

Yep! Nobody has nailed me, yet, but I have noticed the dust.

 

Water, too, if low enough, will show where you are.

I confirm that I set to LAN connection and it doesn't work :cry:

No problem to join 51st server ... Is it the same file check than this server (is there one ) ?

 

On the 104th's forums, search for the "File Integrity Check" thread by Crunch.

 

There is a listing of the necessary files and the download dated in December 2012.

 

I just spent hours a few days ago experimenting how to get on to their server; now I can.

 

I did not even know what terms to search for. That in itself took awhile to figure out. The mod should have a link off their 1st---front 104th's page. The link may be there, but I did not see it.

so far so good without the router(I took it out of the equation), I did not crashed on the 104th, however still crashed still on the 51st, question on how many users I guess...

also plz name waypoints in the order of tgt alpha , beta etc and setup the net ids for everybody in advance, that way you'll be able to see all friendlys without everybody needing to set up.

A couple of other ideas that might help your server run smooth.

Include the awacs frequency (and others) in the brief

Put a map in the brief to clarify objectives/ waypoints

Have the hogs start out with an standard payload the way you want it (for example no mavs and cbus but with mk82's 70% fuel etc.. Saves a lot of time with the rearming/refueling.

Maybe shorten the brief a bit, its a compelling story but it makes it a litte hard to extract the goals, frequency's and other important info. Everybody comes there to fly so possibly put the story in a separate place or shorten it.

Thanks the feeback degoe,

 

-AWACS freq is avail by pressing the comms menu,

-Map is still WIP sir,

-We choose no loadouts to stop people landing and going straight to spectators to save time on rearming and refueling. We know its a 'small' pain to have to load up at the start but feel its better for realism in the bigger picture.

-I will work on shortening the story down
