Testing new 1.2.3. version.

 

I have just found some model bugs on new Su-27 and Mig-31.

 

Su-27: Afterburner ON. The exhaust AB cone works perfect but inside engines there are no afterburner texture, only default engine texture. The texture don´t change with AB on.

 

Cockpit textures light off and on don´t fit one over the other. With lights on, the words in weapons control panel don´t fit over the lights off panel.

 

Mig-31: Mixed lod Skins when there are more than one Mig-31 with different skins. If you put more than one Mig-31 with the same skin, all runs perfect. If you create a flight of 2 or 3 Mig-31 in the same group or as individual flights, and every Mig-31 with a different skin, they appear errors.

 

Mig-31 default skin , nose section turns white, Mig-31 blue skin, mixed parts of various skins in tail and fuselage, Mig-31 Boris Skin mixed parts of various skins. Also when changing the outside view distance appears weird effects changing skins, bort numbers, etc.

 

Ka-50: The same issue like Mig-31 but in the bort numbers, mixing colors in each number and pattern.

I believe I'm seeing the exact same thing. I've attached images of two F/A-18Cs from a Quick Mission I jumped into.

Also IIRC...the F-18C, Mig 31 damage model is not implemented yet? The plane just goes down in fire without any damage model.

Can you give me your Visib Range setting?

 

It seems thats the reason for the problem:

 

 

  • set to high or medium: no bug
  • set to low: object bug on F-15 Hud and R-27 / R-73

 

open graphics.cfg (Config folder) in notepad++ and locate lines 167 and 168 and change to:

 

lodMult = 1.0;

lodAdd = 0;

The #1 comment, made by --Esac mirmidon-- gives some flaws with the Su-27 and MiG-31 skins. Now I would add what I've discovered so far:

 

Su-27:

a) the numbers on the rudders start with blue 21 to blue 25, even if you use the right bort numbers in the ME,

b) It seems to me, that this is the only skin made for the Su-27. I'm unable to use other RuAF squadrons just this one has been provided,

c) when the afterburner is active - the ab nozzle opens, but the engines produce no textures in yellow/red color.

 

#1 MiG-31: 174 GvIAP "Boris..."

- changes during LOD's the wing colors in white/red

 

#2 MiG-31: Demo 903 White

- there are no numbers on both sides right under the canopy, but you see a tile of the skin which doesn't fit there,

- the LOD's change the bort # from 5 to 915

 

#3 MiG-31 AF standard

- nose section is in white (no skin) - zoom in

- rudders bort # white 1 but the 6 is missing, due to different LOD

- landing gear is completely white (no skin)

 

Would like to add that both aircraft are now excellent.

I sincerely hope, that someone from ED would take a look at these birds.

On the F-18 (A/C) the rudder works vice versa... On right pedal the plane goes to the right, but the rudder turns to the left, same thing with the left pedal

ok, excuse me for double reporting..

noticed also that the pilot on the F-15E don't move his head and on the F-18C the right (green) nav light, that one on the fuselage, works vice versa too.. when you turn on the lights, it turns off

unfortunately this problem came back with 1.2.4 update.

 

i've alredy put a autoexec.cfg file into Saved Games\DCS\Config containing this:

 

options.graphics.lodMult = 1.0
options.graphics.lodAdd = 0

 

but not working.

btw. this time the models of R-73 and F-15 Hud are ok, only R-27 have this problem.
