Hey all,

I'm at the point where I want to start playing some Multiplayer. However, whenever I load multiplayer I get a blank server list. Which is strange, because in the log I get:

00004.539 DEBUG NET: client has started

00010.694 INFO NET: sent serverlist request

00014.269 WARNING LOG: 1 duplicate message(s) skipped.

00014.269 INFO NET: got serverlist reply.

00014.300 INFO NET: Parsed 54 servers.

I'm using Steam, on version 1.1.1.1 (now downloading v1.2.3, not sure if that'll work with Steam though - anyone know if that's the right thing to do?).

I haven't opened/forwarded any ports, since I'm not hosting, and I wouldn't see the need if I'm making an outbound connection to another server only...

Am I missing the server list, or is there a way to filter the list (in an .INI file somewher perhaps)? OR is it just that no-one's playing. I have seen the odd server appear (literally two, both at separate times).

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

D.

yup... you should go to 1.2.3

just scavenge the key from steam install and use it to install the module you have into DCS World installation (which you will work out first, of course...)

The best thing to do is download DCS World 1.23 and then install that. Then download and install the A10 module. Your steam key will work with DCS World. Right click the A10 game in steam, click view key. Then copy that down and when you boot up DCS World and try to start a mission it will ask for a key. Enter that key you copied and you should be set for multiplayer.

You won't see anything on the server list until you have the latest version installed.

Is that really correct? Or are you going to see the servers that run your version? I know it both leads to the same results, im just asking myself why the server browser would stop working once a new version is out.

You will see only servers running the same version you have installed. There are not many servers on 1.1.1.1 out there, in addition the old versions prior to 1.2 had sometimes problems to list the servers... could take some tries to get a list. If you want to host a server/game yourself you need to forward port 10308 on your router.

If you want a buddy to join and by chance he has problems seeing your session, use dyndns services or check your current IP address on your router. He then may connect via IP, directly.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the help. I have all 5G or so of 1.2.3 downloading as we speak.

That would probably explain why I've seen a couple of lone servers - old servers running 1.1.1.1.

Interestingly, if this is a version issue, it's been happening for at least two months, meaning Steam are not updating their game (I already checked that I'm on auto-updating and verified my files too, so any lingering updates should have been picked up.

I'll shout if I have any probs installing 1.2.3 (given it's Steam).

See you in the skies, hopefully, soon. :pilotfly:

Steam isn't getting updated anymore.

Well Version 1.2.4. will be released soon.... we hope so you'll be able to use the auto updater within DCS.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

That is because Steam is not selling DCS World. They sell only the DCS: A-10C 1.1.1.1 final release.

DCS World is a new product on its own. You get this for free!

The other DCS "Modules" replace the standalone versions for "World".

The good thing here is, a key for a standalone version of DCS: A-10C or DCS: BlackShark 2 is valid for the DCS: World modules, as well!

So you need to extract your key from Steam, install World + the Modules you have keys for, then enter the key and get rid of Steam.

DCS World has its own updater no need for Steam anymore. :D

Hi,

I have the lastest version and I have the line:

NET: Parsed 125 servers.

in dcs.log, but I never got more than 46-48 servers in the list.

Do you know what can I check or do to get the full list?

Thanks.
