Not at the moment, although I might dig something up. Doing my research I found out about at least two ex-UH-1Ds (I wrote about such helicopters elsewhere) that were modified in the States by Northwest Helicopters LLC. Those helicopters were "zeroed" - meaning fully refurbished, giving them a "factory new" status. Plus some modifications upgrading them t "Huey Plus" variant (something like Bell 210 Huey II... but not trademarked ;) ):

- dash-703 1800shp engines;

- 205A1/212 transmissions;

- BLR Tail Strake kit;

- BLR Fast Fin kit;

- NVG capable cockpit and exterior lighting;

- new engine filters (AFS);

- composite rotor blades;

- changes in avionics and electrical wiring.

Basically, with exception of MLWS and countermeasures dispensers, those birds were kited out similar to the US DoS ones in Afghanistan. Here are few pictures of those Hueys:

I might look for more info if I have more free time.

From the manual perspective. and the photos of the cockpit. That answer appears to be No and No. Both items would be a much welcome thing in life. personly i reather have the RWR then the dispenser. But both would be ideal. At least the RWR would give me a chance to get out of the way of radar contact.

But over all i am very happy what the aircraft has to offer. And it brings me back to my days when i was going to college to maintain aircraft. I spent alot of time there sitting in the UH-1H there.

Heres a nice data base of Huey serial numbers with pics of some of them.

JUst for reference this Turkish bird looks like its got the discoball fitted. From reading around seems they (ALQ-144) were supplied to the US in '81 and rushed into service for the gulf war in '91, according to the interwebs.

Some people might not like that i suggest this, but i for one wouldn't mind would not mind to pay extra for DLC upgrade packges to a module. They cost time and money to develop, don't they?

Rise of Flight comes to mind: You purchase a basic aircraft (much like this UH-1H now) and can buy (unlock) extra equipment from an online store to kit out your aircraft. I don't know if such a system is feasable within the DCS: world structure, but at the least you should be able to release different variants that require the base package to work.

Short story: i would gladly pay another 15-20 dollars for a later developed and released huey update package that would bring it up to georgian army or US DoS standards.

P.S. Please let's not enter into another pricetag debate here just because i called out some numbers. I'm just thinking out loud about how such upgrades could become a future reality.

Thanks!

Yeah Dirk, upgrades are always welcome, paid or free.

I think we need to all just get airborne first in what is being developed at present.

Future upgrades I am sure will depend directly on how well the existing module sells/is supported by the community at large.

If you look at almost all other sims that stood the test of time, upgrades do come through if there is solid customer support.

With such a iconic airframe that the Huey is, I personally think (and sincerely hope) that the sales surpass Belsimteks expectations, cause then that gives them options for the future and a budget to do it.

I have never ever been so excited about getting virtually airborne in a sim as I am with this Huey. I am about to explode hahaha.

Can't wait, but will, and I know its going to be worth it.

Our current plans for additional equipment beyond what is included in the beta version are limited to the Reflex sight. Things beyond that are possible, but I would not expect it.
Fair enough.

Now I have to think over if I want that helicopter just for itself or not, as it won't be useful in the online missions I fly.

Assuming I understand correctly, I won't have to worry as much about missiles in the future. This is certainly welcome in the modern DCS environment and will give an advantage over the Black Shark. If not, it's not a deal breaker for me.

:thumbup: I like it. Can't wait to do sling loads in my slick. Who needs guns, when you are trying to control a net of ammo swinging about below you.

The more I see, the more excited I'm getting, and yes I did say I wouldn't be checking again till tomorrow.............. I lied ;)

I will rather pay 100$ for a F18C or F15 E ..."end of the history"...We want and need something accordingly with this modern combat scenario...P51- Huey- and F119 etc are just machines to practice flying skills ..I am not trying to diminished their combat history, is just reality..and Yes I do have all DCS modules that doesn’t mean I like them. I am a DCS supporter and a costumer with an opinion…
