Something that's been buggy me what flight model is the Su-25T using i seen a video on youtube where it lost and wing and someone flew for 20 minutes and landed it so am guessing the standard one?

Nope, advanced flight model, just like SU-25, ka50, a10c and p51d

TimeKilla - People have landed planes under those circumstances in real life, it's just most people do the sensible thing and eject.

i dont think so

su-25 and 25t are simplier than ka-50

and much more simple than a-10c AFM

there are clearly visible grades

Su25T has AFM

KA50 Super AFM

A10C Super Ultra AFM

....

:)

AFAIK an SFM means that the developers specify some numbers like drag, lift, thrust and so on and thats it.

With an AFM the developers are able to specify many aerodynamic surfaces that have their own properties and produce drag, lift, thrust and so on all on their own. Every aerodynamic surface can stall on its own and can induce vibrations on its own and so on.

So if the developers just define a simple AFM using three surfaces (like wings, vertical and horizontal stabilizers) it will be less realistic as if they use much more surfaces (and also measure real thing to be able to define the surfaces' properties in a realistic way).

More like KA-50 Super Ultra I would put my money on making copters is harder than fixed wing when comes to flight model.

Not sure, AFM for su27 or Mig29 will be a hard task to do, but...

Super Ultra Extra AFM is for the Huey :)

Am going with standard then as I know planes can still fly when losing parts of there wings but the whole wing, all the fuel and electronics to many things against ever being able to keep flying would be one in a billion landing would be just taking the p*ss.

Why? F-15 has done it in real life, A10 as well. Why not SU-25 (T) ??

This is what I was telling you earlier TimeKilla - this is not an un-realistic thing to have happen to a plane as such.

The un-realistic thing was you not being so frightened looking out the window that you ended up ejecting ejecting - not that the plane could still fly.

There is no super ultra AFM. Its basically AFM but it probably isn't at the level as the A-10C. Simple aspect that the Su25 and 25T were the first aircraft by ED to fly based on physics rather than canned animations. However, I think the P51, A-10c, black shark and now huey have more variables and more systems modelled which makes it more realistic and more accurate compared to the dated early AFM model on the Su25T. Yet...its still leagues ahead of the SFM aircraft like Su27, 33, F15 and the migs.

And there are several accounts of world war 2 airplanes flying home with major components missing from battle damage.

I don't see how people find this so unlikely in a sim where we probably have more flight hours than most of these aircraft have had and allways fly unrealisticly unsafe.

I know some pilots have landed but they seem to be more an exception and very very lucky.

The only reason I ask is because I can't find anything from ED saying its using advanced normally this would be included not like them not to list it on the product page not agree?

Have you flown the Toad? There's a reason the majority of pilots liken it to a flying brick and a select few that recognise it and fly it with the finesse it deserves: As far as bombers go, it's lethal, dispensing all manner of hurt with grace.

The difference in opinion alone is indicative of the intricancies and standard of the Flight Model, in this case the Advanced Flight Model. I am sure it's officially mentioned as well. I'll see if I can find it.

no I've not flown it yet is on my list to do tho just not in to fix-winged really at the moment. :smilewink:

Take 5 minutes, runway-start with 100% fuel, 29T's, Vikhrs' 25ML's, R-73's, smoke and an ECM pod and take her up for a circuit, touch and go and landing.

You'll soon appreciate the flight model :)

Oh yes, ensure the axis inputs are linear.

Im pretty sure it was stated somewhere that the SU-25T used the AFM,

Might have been removed from the DCSW Page when they updated it. or it just may have been common knowledge to everyone that followed the LockON/FC Series.

I would like to know what people believe are missing in the Toads flight model, since a few posters considered it a lesser flight model than the A-10C's?

It's an Assumption Based on Age...

TBH, the SU-25T AFM is pretty well done, It doesnt feel like it's missing anything.

People just assume it's lesser cuz it debuted in Lock/FC 1.0x and not DCS:A-10C 1.1.0.0+

Ok will do buddy! Not sure why I was worried about the flight model tbh

If it fly's well then sound, I suppose what does it really matter then.

Apologies, neglected to mention that once you've done a flight loaded for bear, do the same but this time with empty pylons and 20% fuel and appreciate the difference in the Flight Regime :)

Pretty soon you'll be treating her like a Lady and taking her to the extreme:
