Red Transparent Box in top left corner - Hot Key to turn off?

Is there a way to turn off the transparent red box in the upper left hand corner while in flight?

Hehe, with lines in it? Its the control indicator, the lines should move when you move your stick.

Sometimes after creating a mission that red box comes up by default until I disable it myself, any idea what might be causing that, or if there is a permanent way or option to disable it?

Go to Options, "special" tab and then select the UH-1H, from there uncheck "weapon hints" and than you will no longer see the red box control indicator when you start a mission.

 

The downside is that you will no longer be able to see the yellow weapon hint text on the right side of the screen.

 

I believe this changed during one of the recent updates.

is it possible to move it around the screen? when enabled with A10C it is right hand lower corner and with huey its at top left corner

I edited Line #45: base.init_pos = {0,(1 - 11.95*size)}

Of course this value is for my monitor. You can change these values to move it. But, change them in very little intervals.

disabling weapon hints did not remove the red control position box completely. I made another mission and again it appeared so something else is controlling when it decides to show up.

I think was introduced after some patch the "always" on. And linkage with weapon hints is annoying. Also Autopilot availability is linked with having it take control when in copilot and you toggle the sight.

 

I don't know why adding an option means sticking it with another two?

 

Yes we like the controls indicators from time to time but we would like it off buy default.

Yes we do like weapon hints but we would like it default Off...and not linked with AP option

Yes we would like AP options on screen but default we would like it Off and not linked with availability of the Autopilot all together or weapons hints as said above.

Yes we would like AP availability but not to take command automatically (unless told to do so) when we turn the sight on as Co-Pilots

 

And since I'm at it.

 

Yes we like to turn aiming from headtracking to mouse but either when we choose via a keyboard command or by a preset in Option that will allow us to set which view to have headtracking aiming and which not.

 

Surprisingly is cool to aim with headtracking as pilot while still flying but not when Autopilot is flying.

Also

Is not a surprise that aiming with headtracking while in gunners is annoying as heck.

 

Is it hard or not an emergency? I hope for the second.
