Hi,

I'm working on a mod that enables a kneeboard in-cockpit for all modules , and looking out for help .

One thing you have to know: I never worked with 3DMax.(But I will start to learn if it is necessary-..and I learn quick)

Question:

Is there any way to add connectors in the cockpit-space/to a texture (DDS)?

- so I can hook up buttons and define the function of the connectors in the clickabledata.lua of the existing module ?

If there is no 'simple' way , I have a plan 'B' :

I would probably add a external autohotkey script that can recognize mouse gestures that will trigger the prev./next page , hide/show and mark position command regardless where your mouse pointer is placed (similar like this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92553 ) .

As far as I know you cannot add connectors if you don't have the original model file...

Otherwise Beczl made a small tutorial explaining how to add connectors : here

But your "Plan B" looks really great!

I think HungaroJet can add connectors using some hex editing magic. No idea where to begin there, though. :P

Thanks for the hint including a Member-name .

I also already tried briefly to edit the EDM files with a hex editor- will have a deeper look into it .

I have considered this as well, thinking it might be possible to load multiple EDM models as the cockpit... I'll let you know if I find anything.

I had the theory:

Make a Blank 3d Scene, put a small poly somewhere no visible in the cockpit, Add Connectors, Export to EDM.

open model viewer, open cockpit EDM, then attach/merge new edm w/ added connectors, then save as a new edm.

doubt it would work though

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

Thanks very much for all the suggestions so far!

I had up to now no time to have a deeper look at it .

-whatever -

The mod is up !

KNEEBORD_Tablet_Mod_PP_for DCSWORLD_1.2.4

Without click-able function...

and

Right now without a autohotkey mouse gesture recognition (but this can change quickly when I find 1-2houers coding time.) ... ( to be honest: the code takes about 20min - the documentation is most time consuming - so I understand somewhat ED...)

Feel free to twist the files your own or see if you are able to do something with it to get the knee-board somehow click-able.

Excellent work.....cant wait to be able to flip through some kneeboard pages....this is almost a basic need for any pilot....only way it can get any better is if you animate an arm holding a crayon for me to take notes on the cockpit glass with.....

It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.

cheers again!

+1 (it's actually 87 points)

but: just because I distract and have a problem to stay always "on topic" , doesn't means that everyone can this too in "MY" threads :D .

(You have to know : I follow a plan that will work out in the end... .... sometime(s) ...(and my own OT is part of it...))

So: Please let's stay on Topic ;)
