That's nice performance. these days i guess your setup could be cheaper to invest in than mine, not sure. Only thing could be that yours may generate more heat and watts?

System spec:

Intel Core i7 920@4.2Ghz (stable, 65degC fully loaded), EVGA GTX-780, Asus P6T Deluxe V2 v.5.04 BIOS, Saitek X52, 1TB/500GB WD HD for system/storage. Kingston SSD 120 GB for DCS, 250GB Samsung 840 SSD for the rest. 16GB Kingston KHX1600C9D3 Memory, 9 GB Pagefile, EK HFX-240 Watercooling, Corsair HX-1000 PSU. HAF-932 Tower, TrackIR-5, Win64Ult

So did some testing with the new 13.8 beta drivers and noticed an increase in frames. So running crossfire off I get 8fps with your benchmark and the card is running 59% solid. With crossfire on I get 10fps and both cards are running 43%. The only thing is in order for crossfire to work I have to run the game in full screen mode and I cant do that since I have the mfd's exported to another monitor :(

Its a big mess with the ATI's on DCSW and doesnt seem like ppl get any help or hints from ED about what might be the issue (will hurt sales) There is one thing i also would have liked to know and that is if there is any performance difference using DirextX 9c compared to 11. Anyway to put things in extreme perspective, as i have the same CPU as you and when i run at a even 3.6-3.7 Ghz and high settings i get 35 FPS in this test with the GTX-780. I even run a old driver (Pointless to upgrade regarding DCSW) Then you see the out of the world difference it is using a strong single GPU Nvidia card in this sim. I dont know how much you have to pay to get an usable SLI setup, but when it comes to DCSW and current CPU's the definate best deal and least hassle is a 780, preferable one of those with the custom coolig solutions. Big OC potential too on many 780's. With that, many 780's outperform the Titans well at stock speeds. But using multimonitor setups it may be a different story again only when it comes to DCSW with the ridicolus amount of GC mem it requires for that. When it comes to SLI i think for the money used GTX-560ti's 2 GB would be a good deal for most games. For DCSW i have just totally forgotten the idea of a SLI or Crossfire setup. Only thing which works for DCSW is a 10 Ghz Core i7 and a 10 Ghz core/mem GTX ;)

13.8's only benefit DX10 and DX11 in regards to XFire Performance.

DX9c was untouched.

Wich programs are you using to mesure? And for how long we should let the Benchmark run?

Actually you don't need to externally measure, just use the RCTRL-Pause to bring up FPS counter in the upper left. Reset the view like it states in the first post, and read the FPS when the first A10 is entering the runway. Around 30 seconds in I think.

The aircraft used to stop on the taxiway and you could measure at anytime after that, but a past update broke the AI stopping so just check FPS when the first aircraft is taxing onto the runway and that's the number.

in that case, here... Take this.

AVG FPS :27 fps

GRAPHICS CARD : AMD Gigabyte Windforce R9 280X

CPU : Intel i7 4770K @ Stock

MAIN MEMORY SIZE : 8Gb

GPU MEM USED : 1558

ALL Maxed out, AA quality at 8xQ

Posted (edited)

can't get below 55 fps no matter what camera angle or zoom , mostly fps is between 80 and 130 (seems capped there ?) all maxed out @ 1920x1080 but with 8xAA

3770K @ 4,7 ghz

GTX 680 (sli)

mem usage, 2,9 GB i think (= not gpu mem, don't know that one)

p.s: How do i get to "default camera angle" if my keyboard has no numpad ?

Also, how do you get to your "average fps" ?

As Mustang said, check out the 14.4 WHQL drivers if you haven't, they made a nice improvement for most users it seems.

Prior to 14.4, 13.9 had the best FPS at around 22 for my setup, other newer versions were all below 20. After the change to 14.4, I'm up at 34 now with the same settings. Since the aircraft does not stop at the runway now, I simply take the lowest reading I see. After the first aircraft departs, FPS just starts climbing.

The average is in () and should be next to the FPS counter.

Missed out on this one, would love to have it tested on my previous system and compare but... too late.

So i tested on my current:

One thing: Point 5: Wait until planes line up on runway entrance.

They don't really line up and wait on the runway entrance, they all take off in front of me one by one...

So i noted some AVG FPS's on the run:

On entrance of the mission: 78

After F1, Num 5, Num Enter: 52

After all aircraft have taken-off: 117

CPU: I7 4770K@4.6Ghz

CPU Usage: 62,5% max

Main Mem Size: 16GB (PC2100)

Memory used: 3768 MB

Old DCS World 1.2.4/1.2.16 vs. new DCS World 1.5 ...

.. on the same pc.

I have a benchmark made before the update in order to compare the performance.

Older Version 1.2.4

AVG FPS : 9.0

MEMORY USED : 3342 MB (in game), 1560 MB (Windows resource monitor)

GRAPHICS CARD : ATI/AMD HD 5770

CPU : Intel Core i760 2.8 GHZ

GPU MEM USED : about 1000 MB

COMMENTS:

x4 MSAA, 1920 X 1200 resolution, Medium shadows, no heat, Textures High, Scenes High, Visible Range Hight, HDR Off

Full screen or Windowed Mode is the same

It's the same PC, only with a more recent graphics card driver (15.7).

----------------------------------------

Old Version 1.2.16

AVG FPS: 11

----------------------------------------

New Version 1.5

AVG FPS: 33

This is nice....
