silverofx441 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) I purchased both A-10a And the Su-25 modules today. I not sure what I paid for, I mean, there doesn't seem to be a scrap of difference between what was the Su-25 before and after I paid for the modules. And yes I went to the module manager and installed both. Any thought on this? Alan. PS I seemed to have made a mistake in the header but I can't correct it; should read buy and not bought. frakkingcylon Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 There is no difference between the Flaming Cliffs 3 versions and DCS Flaming Cliffs A10A or DCS Flaming Cliffs SU25a. They're the same planes with the same flight models and 6DOF cockpits. The A10a and SU5a modules are for sale for those people that don't want to buy the original lock on (that is required to have with flaming cliffs 3) or only want one or two of the planes offered with FC3.
Gloom Demon Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I believe, that if you already own FC3, then there shouldn't be any scrap of difference. If nor - Su-25 and Su-25T are VERY different planes both in terms of handling and possible weapons loadout. AMD Ryzen 3600, Biostar Racing B850GT3, AMD Rx 580 8Gb, 16384 DDR4 2900, Hitachi 7K3000 2Tb, Samsung SM961 256Gb SSD, Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X, Samsung S24F350 24'
Mnemonic Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 So Su-25 and A-10A as separate modules are exactly the same as included in Flamming Cliffs 3. They made solely on purpose for people who are not interested to buy FC3 as a whole, but interested in particular aircraft in it.
muamshai Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 To Install FC3, you need Lock On. I believe you don't need to go through this long way if you install either of the modules (Su-25A and/or A-10A) This space is available for your advertisement

Sorry Tx You didn't do your research beforehand. The standalone A-10A and Su-25A modules are for people who wanted to buy only those specific aircraft without having to purchase the full FC3 package (and/or don't own original Lock-On). They are identical to the aircraft included in FC3, and it was stated repeatedly that owners of FC3 would get the same upgrades over time to the A-10A and Su-25A in that package that the standalone modules did. The slow way is to get ED to transfer them but, from what I understand, there is a way to unbind the keys from your account, at which point you can give them away and someone else can use them. I will see if I can find the information. LostOblivion Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Alan, keep them yourself for the sake of your collection. :) Also, when you want to fly the Su-25 on your next install of Windows, you can just install that one without having to go through the hassle of installing Lock On and FC3. ;) Nice plane on that gun... Here is the thing: I own everything under the sun, everything DCS/FC3, everything ROF, Prepar3D, most add-ons available for it. I am crazy:pilotfly:. Hence I jumped on both modules without even checking ( I was on medication remember?) You have to admit, they should have a program to prevent people from purchasing something they already own:D (ROF as it) but like I said, live and learn. Now, i'm in the process of giving my SU-25 key to somebody on this forum. My A-10A key is available if anybody wants it, just PM me:thumbup:. silverofx441 Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) The man has a point. "You didn't do your research" is a bad attitude; I myself always investigate as thoroughly as I can before buying, but it really ought to be the developer/publisher's job to implement a basic system to make it less easy for someone to accidentally buy something that he already has (especially when it's a digital download that's already tracked by account). Expecting every buyer to come onto the forum and read posts first isn't reasonable; believe it or not, most people who buy a program don't ever visit the forum for it. A simple solution would be for the download page to have an "if you already have FC3, then you don't need this" explanation, in bold. Right now, the only thing the download page says on the subject is, "The A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs is a separated part of Flaming Cliffs 3 as a module of DCS World." That's vague at best, to someone who doesn't already understand what the three products are. I was having the EXACT same conversation with my wife like, right now! Uncanny! Yes, a simple warning on the purchase page would be in order. I thought that they had improved both planes so much that they decided customers should pay for their work, which I agreed completely with. silverofx441 Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 I understand this. But All we are saying is maybe a bolder warning and maybe even on the "presentation" page. But no harm done really, i'm not pissed off or anything. We should put this to rest and my offer still stands for the A-10A and waiting for a reply for the Su-25. Cheers! Alan.
