I'm looking at upgrading to pedals with toe brakes (I'm sick of trying to taxi the P-51D with the keyboard). I'm aware of the CH Pro Pedals and the Saitek Pro Pedals. Any other ones I should be aware of? Any significant differences in how the above two work? Any consensus on which one is better? Do either of them use hall sensors?

Thanks =)

I have only used the Saitek Combat Pedals, which have the same guts as the other Saitek, just heavier duty pedals from what I have been told, and I am very happy with them.

They use pots, btw. I am not sure about the CH.

Regarding differences/preferences, I have heard many people say that the CH pedals are spaced too closely together for comfort. This can be a significant issue if you fly with your stick between your legs as I do.

The Cessna Pedals from Saitek are very uncomfortable for me as I just don't know how to put the feet on it.

They are so small so there is not enough surface to savely keep the feet on it, so I cannot steer very precisely the plane, the Z-Axis of my old Joystick was very, very smoother for setting the rudders. And toe-braking I can just forget, it's just impossible for me to push down the pedals simultaneously and so the plane always crashes to the left or right side ... also this went better with the keyboard :/

Go for the Saitek Combat Pedals, best bang for the buck...smooth as heck with the DCS wares and easy to program, toe brakes and all.

I've got the Saitek Combat pedals and can't recommend them enough. Like cichlidfan said they have the same internals as the standard Saitek pedals. But the pedals themselves are a good size and made of metal.

I wear a size 15 shoe so I wanted something that can take the beating and be big enough for me, and these pedals fit the bill. If you don't need something metal then the standard Saitek pedals should be just fine. I can't comment on the CH pedals but I've heard the same thing others have mentioned.

If you can wait for a bit you should have a look at the MFG Crosswind Pedals made by a fellow Flightsimmer. The first batch of 10 has been delivered to the pre-ordering Customers. The next batch will be ready in the next 1 or 2 months or so.

I'm using a set of these since about a week. I owned the Saitek pro pedals aswell as a set of Simped pedals, which are out of production for about a year.

The MFG Pedals are a great piece of equipment. Smooth in movement,no play at all and very sturdy. You even can adjust almost everything to your own needs, like Springstrength and the angles of the Footrest. And it uses very precise Hallsensors. It's not even remotely comparable to the Pedals I was using before.

Lausbub: As cool as those sound, they are way beyond my meager means.

On the positive side, I just snagged a pair of Saitek pro-combat pedals on ebay! Now on to the MFDs. They show up as directx controllers with buttons, right? Do they show up identically to the computer? Can I avoid target?

Yes. You can assign the buttons just like a joystick. Each MFD will have it's own column in Options>Controls. However, for the A-10C, they are just Plug-n-Play. The sim will map them correctly on it's own.

I too am running a set of MFG Crosswind pedals. Absolutely superb and are the best pedals with the most realistic feel I have ever used.

Previous pedals I have used are: TM RCS Hall modified, CH pro pedals, TM Elite Hall modified, Saitek pedals.

None come remotely close to the MFG crosswind.

Luckily, I have not been spoiled for my Saitek's by access to the real thing! ;)

Ivan, I too have RCS Hall modified and was wondering how they compared to the MFG's in

spring feel, strength??

I got my Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals yesterday and am pleased with the quality I see so far  It’s so different to use pedals for the rudder when you have been used to the twist stick for many years, will have to do a lot of practice, but I’ll get it eventually. I have changed the curves of the rudder axes to my liking but there is one question regarding toe brake. How do you set toe brakes when there is no individual brakes for each wheel? Do you map it in SST to “W”?
