Hello,

I wonder if anyone (e.g. from the Devs or Testers) knows in what time frame it is realistic to expect the F-15C DCS: Flaming Cliffs module for DCS World? I'm using DCS:W on steam and thus cannot buy FC3. But I would love to be able to fly the F-15c until the hifi F/A-18s are released.

Will this module be the next one released (together with the Su-27 maybe?) or are there any other modules that are first in line?

Not sure if anyone can/is allowed to answer my question, but I think it would be a good marketing strategy to give the community (also the Steam community) the Fighter models, as kind of a substitute until the big fighter modules come out.

Anyway, looking forward to future DCS releases.

I'm guessing by Christmas or Q1 '14.

If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public.

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

Since the Su-25 & A-10A launched around the same time. I'd assume that the F-15C and Su-27 will also be.

It'll be rather interesting to get a taste of what AFM does to fighters. :book:

*off topic* Sometimes I wish I knew how to make 3d cockpits. I just have 3ds Max 13 gathering dust on my desktop. :dunno:*off topic*

I've gotta go sleep now, so I won't be replying for about 7-8 hours :p

I think they won't release it until they've made the AFM for it (just my thoughts based on ... guesswork :) ) and if that's the case then it could be a while

I love ED and the quality they produce, but I really hate their complete focuse on Air-to-Ground: A-10C, Black Shark, A-10A/Su-25 FC, UH-1, Mi-8. They all can move a lot of dirt, but neither of them can fight against air threats. The only A2A modules there are are either in the second world war (nothing wrong with WW2 modules, but a modern day fighter is more what I like) or in FC3, which wouldn't pay off for me to buy, because it'll never make it to steam :(

sounds like steam is your problem and not a game?

I wish they remove the GSh-301 sound from the cockpit of the F-15C once we get it. It'll be good if they remove the "planecannon" sound from the su-25. Sounds like the firing rate of an MP42. :|

Well, if its only DCS: World, its not too late. You can still install the free download from this site and start buying modules direct from digitalcombatsimulator.com. Just keep in mind you need LockOn and Flaming Cliffs before you'd be able to use the FC3 module. Or you can wait for the individual releases.

I already bought FC3. For Su-27 and F-15 AFM, if I have to pay for it, that's fine. ED deserves to be paid for their work. Hopefully if enough of us have this sentiment ED will work on it faster and prioritize it more!

I agree that work deserves pay, but I don't see why I should have to shell out another 20$ for improvements on something I already own. It's the same logic as buying the new Call of Duty each year!

Edit : My ignorance knows no bounds, so don't yell at me :)

This would seem the logical thing to do, but I don't think many people will follow you. I know for myself I have been paying and not even getting what I paid for (Edge cough cough..., nevada..., etc...) so I doubt "they will work on it faster" is convincing anyone. To be honest, I don't support the sentiment, nor do I plan on it anytime soon. They have repackaged FC series over 3 iterations with few improvements to the actual aircraft. This is why we need lomac, its the same work being used over and over. I would find it repulsive for them to release fc3 and then only months after produce the improvements we all expected for an additional cost. TBH I found it kind of infuriating when there was talks to charge fc3 owners for the upgrades, even though I didnt own the series. Their decision to do it this way is not only convenient to those that don't own fc3, but also to those that have bought the series. This is the way it should be. Throwing money at companies with the "hope" to get what they want only produces whinny forum trolls that complain when their "hope" is not satisfied. I will support dcs because of decisions like this, not because its something new. I was not going to buy fc3 (hence not support dcs), when they said they were adding stuff to it that I thought should have been there in the first place, it was now deserving of my money... I decided to support them. This is the way it should work.

Everything you have said is true, but for all of the fun and good times ED has given me with their sims, I would be happy to give them money for a product or improvement like AFM for the eagle and flanker if it meant they would come out with it sooner. Honestly, the fun-to-cost ratio with ED sims is sooooo much better than any other video game I've ever bought.

Unfortunately money can't buy patience, but I understand what you mean because I wish some of their products were here already.... (hornet......) :music_whistling:

Sad that none of the Devs/Testers can make a statement on that. That gives the impression that it might take a long time until this comes out, and even longer until the high fidelity stuff gets released :(

Testers are just that - testers. They don't have any info on the release shedule of modules that are months or rather years away. Keep that in mind to avoid misunderstandings. :)

The advanced flight model is being worked on in parallel with the new flight model for the Su-27.

Great! I'm totally in on the DCS F-15C, can't wait to fly it.
