bkthunder
is it just me or DCS is eating up A LOT more ram than it used to? I have 8Gb, never had any problems at all, but now I get this annying windows message saying DCS used all the RAM. Anybody else? sslechta
Yeah, for me it was mostly noticeable in multiplayer since 1.2.5. I had 6 gig of memory and DCS.exe would use up to 4 gig and crash. I upgraded my PC to 10 gig of ram and it uses anywhere from 3.5 to 5 gig in multiplayer but my crashes have stopped. ajax
Yes. I have 8 GB and had no issues before 1.2.5. It seems more frequent with 1.2.6. I get the same Windows warning you described.
Kaiza
I have 4 gig and DCS has been running very poorly since 1.2.5 for me. I suspect this is the problem. Not only that, when I exit DCS after it has crashed, my computer is almost at a standstill until I reset it (shutdown takes about 2-3 mins alone). Bigby Wolf
And then there's the guys that reported black and green screens on startup. Sounds like memory leak.
bkthunder
Ok, glad I'm not alone. I also notice it way more in multiplayer, I have 8Gb and DCS uses 5 to 6. Multiplayer gets very very choppy sometimes. This started with 1.2.5 also for me. howie87
8GB here. 1.2.6 crashes and I get the low RAM warning. 1.2.5 is also installed and works fine
Mustang
Do any of you guys have your virtual memory disabled? not a good idea, pre-1.2.5 i had it turned off completely but since i've had to enable a fixed 1536/1536 and the problems stopped (oh and this is with an 8gb system running Win7 x64)
sslechta
Thanks Mustang. In my case I've always had mine set to 2Gig fixed. So for me that wasn't the issue. Since my memory upgrade, I've been fine. AtaliaA1
Thanks Mustang. In my case I've always had mine set to 2Gig fixed. So for me that wasn't the issue. Since my memory upgrade, I've been fine. You have your cache file set to use "2gigs fixed" of the 10 you have installed? tell me I am misreading that? I watched one of your Aerobatics shows.........Mannnnn! that is to cool for school, pulling those moves off, even in a Simulator is something to see. Had my Son watch it too. Mustang: Can memory leaks even happen anymore with the new ver. of C++ Programming Language? I would think not, unless the definition of mem. leak has evolved to something other than its definition in the 90s. Edited September 25, 2013 by AtaliaA1 This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. sslechta
I may be getting terminology mixed up there. I meant my page file is set for 2 Gig on the main hard drive. AtaliaA1
I may be getting terminology mixed up there. I meant my page file is set for 2 Gig on the main hard drive. With 10Gigs of Ram your Min. is 2Gigs and your max is set to like 27Gigs then. using an over clockers methodology that is. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. BRooDJeRo
Hmm interesting. For some reason after having already 1 multi player server joined and joining another i get the standard connection interrupted. The only resolve is a full OS hardware reboot like something is wiped from the RAM after the power loss. Nothing is acting faulty or no not responding programs. Always the reboot when i want to join another server. This is with 1.2.6.
