mazex Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) A bit out of topic but not completely... Found these when searching for old images from D-Day... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2100326/Stunning-rare-colour-images-World-War-II.html Amazing stuff. Color adds so much "immersion" like that image of the German POW:s that look like a bunch of sorry boys instead of the black and white images that feel so "historical"... westr Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Oh she's a big aeroplane especially looking from the front. But the plane that really stands out for sheer size especially for a single engined airplane is the Grumman Avenger. leafer Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Wow, nice find. Thanks. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
BabyJail Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Can we have the Razorback please? I find it just has way more character and grittyness than the bubble canopy version. Its big, its ugly and thats its charm!
hegykc Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I think A-10 guys just might like this one. It is it's predecessor right? www.replikagear.com
leafer Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Yes, even the A-10 has a daddy. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Bucic Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Can we have the Razorback please? I find it just has way more character and grittyness than the bubble canopy version. Its big, its ugly and thats its charm! Nope. The variants are set. Instead we can read on the specific variants and learn to love them. Dutchy93 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Can we have the Razorback please? I find it just has way more character and grittyness than the bubble canopy version. Its big, its ugly and thats its charm! I wouldn't say ugly, but of course the razorback is the most characteristic thunderbolt in my opinion. but when you have the teardrop canopy you can see a lot more!
SlipBall Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Interestingly, the Razorback was conceived designed by a Russia immigrant to the US
BabyJail Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Nope. The variants are set.I know. My opinion remains the same. Rarorback>Teardrop. I wouldn't say ugly, but of course the razorback is the most characteristic thunderbolt in my opinion. but when you have the teardrop canopy you can see a lot more!I guess you are right on that one..
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) i dont know, when its about the P47, i always prefered the teardrop canopy... for the P51 its the exact opposite... Edited September 26, 2013 by 9./JG27 DavidRed
