Back on track and on more serious note - I'd really like simplicity in logo design and I'd love a DCS WWII logo that resembled the style of the contemporary aircrafts manufacturers like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland for example.

I mean the style, not how the logo should look like. Obviously the DCS WWII logo would be much more populated.

And some new attempts... It sure is hard to squeeze all that text in :)

@hegykc

Could you come up with something along the lines of this? :D

One of my ideas...
Very nice analog feeling ... bit dark on the inside though.

Yesterday's was more clean ... I liked "ww2" better. Or do something like wIIw, "1944" slightly tilted "Star Wars"-style. RRG instead of DCS. Edited by Hans-Joachim Marseille

Mmm, the "dilemma" is that the title is "DCS WWII: Europe 1944" so I guess that has to be the text? I have tried a number of ways to get those roman numerals "in balance" :)

I remember doing a "dummy" logo for a medical system we where developing once (fooling around a bit with the title). The marketing people in the states had invested $100k in a professional logo (and T-shirts and mugs etc). And when the AD saw my develoment logo she got furious that the text was not exactly correct and quite a bunch of users where testing the alpha version (which made the branding effort a bit hard naturally, but I had no idea they where going to do a logo for it ;))... And the users liked it better than the $100k logo ;)

EDIT - by considering your nick - how about the one with a 109? :)

Of course I love the Bf.109, but it's not about me. I really liked your dynamic logo, with a warbird coming towards you and that black/grey/blood red colour scheme.

Considering this is a WWII flight sim, how about some nose art inspired logo?

Think Peter Driben meets Adler ... that takes care of the "Europe" and "1944" part.

I've got an idea for a logo (unfortunately no means to execute it):

Combine distinguishable elements from USAF, RAF and Luftwaffe WWII medals and/or badges (ie. combine the us eagle, lw albatross and raf crown) to create a hybrid badge/medal as the logo. The logo has bordering wreaths that curve over the top and bottom where text can be embossed ie. RRG DCS at the top, and World War II at the bottom. The logo itself should be 3D modelled which has a texture of bronze or silver and has slight patina to show its age.

Nose art for the logo is a great idea, will try something with that...

I like it, but it needs more light and contrast I think?

Nice but far too American... I certainly have nothing against Americans.. but this is not an American product. I like it all apart from the star in the middle.. would look better with a harp :P (yes i'm Irish!)

Just for a laugh..

I have a pretty good idea of what to replace the Stars & Bars with that will be inclusive of all nations. When I originally started the logo I couldn't think of anything else to use for a backdrop, so I ran w/ it :p

I'll be out of town for the weekend, but I'll throw a new one up on Mon.

This logo I think is perfect if adjusted to be universal :)

Great job, wish I had those graphical talents!

Also, I personally prefer simple logos. I look at them a funny way. I zoom out the picture to like 8x8 pixels, and if it still looks unique and recognizable, it's good.
I would use something like this as an icon. There is no way you are going to fit the clutter of all those words into something recognizable at 8x8 pixels, but people still know KFC sells chicken.

(Alternate color, 128 x 128, 64 x 64, 32 x 32, 16 x 16, 8 x 8)

Considering the size it's displayed, I'd recommend something pretty simple and obvious.

I like this; it fits well with the other modules' icons.
