Supersheep Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) You could downpatch (there's a sticky for that) and then use JSGME (sticky for that, too) to compare which files have changed in the new version. Maybe you can find one single cause and copy the files to the new version. BTW: That looks great =) Edit: Here you go: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 Edited October 9, 2013 by Supersheep The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread

Someone from ED or a pixel wizard on these forums can probably tell whats causing this to make it look like it was.
Mainstay Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Picture of now after patch ugly mountains !!!
Grimes Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Can you use the same mountains as a reference? The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Stacker Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Not at my computer but yeah, what Grimes said. Fly over to 44 08 58 N/042 55 10 E at 9000Ft and take another look. Would be interesting to see the difference (if indeed there is one). Perhaps the different altitude in both pics is a factor? Or indeed just put an AI around that area and put a camera on it. i7-4790K@4.7GHz : EVGA 1070 SC : 16GB Corsair Vengence Pro : 2xEVO 840 SSD : EVGA 850W PSU : CORSAIR H100i Cooler : ASUS Z97-AR MB : CORSAIR OBSIDIAN 750D FULL TOWER
aceviper Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I thought they looked different in ver 1.25...new higher resolution mesh maybe:thumbup:
Kuky Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 If you want to compare before and after you should use SAME map area, I would think this should be common sense... Hunden Ynk Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I haven't seen any difference. Different parts of the map looks more or less good. Plus, the terrain is utilizing normal-mapping, if I'm not mistaken that is. Allowing the "interior" parts of the mesh to appear more detailed than they really are, a trick that fails when exposed as silhouettes.
GeorgeLKMT Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I don't know what OP is seeing. Mountains were always pointy just like they are now. I checked those hills in first screenshot and they still look the same (8nm south of Mineralnye) ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
sobek Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I think i remember that that area at Mineralnye had the highest terrain mesh resolution of the whole map. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Boberro Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Exactly, they've always been a slightly curved. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Mainstay Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Ok well sorry for bringing this up then. My screenshots deceived me and led me to do evil postings. I shall pray and pay for my sins.

Hamblue Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Also the first pic is looking down at a couple of hills. The second was at a lower alt looking up. Fri13 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I so would hope that in future terrains would gain such mesh upgrade so they would get more round almost everywhere. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
