    • Keep DH/DT with Hdg Hold and BA/RA with Alt Hold (keep apples with apples)

    • Map BA/RA with Hdg Hold and DH/DTwith Alt Hold (like actual panel switches)

Rudder Trim Problems

I am having problems getting Rudder Trim to work on all aircraft. I use VR for all flying and do not use Head Tracking. I have set Head Tracking Hardware=2, Default POV Hat function in VR=1 and Force VR Trim Mode on Cycle=1. I can't seem to get the Rudder Trim to work with any aircraft using the shift (S3) function. All other trim functions work with no issues. All other controls and functions work normally.

Does anyone have an idea what I need to do to enable this function?

Thanks

I don't use VR, so I really can't test this.  However, the rudder trim is not mapped to Hat1 in VR since shifted functionality defaults to either aileron trim or mouse buttons.  Rudder trim is often mapped to another hat switch (often one used for SnapViews), but it matters which aircraft you're flying.  Also, be sure to check the controller reference and see what the VR substitutions are (they're usually beneath the HOTAS graphic).

All,

In light of yesterday's patch, I'm hard at work updating the lua and diff.lua files for a hotfix.  So far I have updated the F-15E (updated the TF couple switch) and AJS-37 (KONTROLL button) and updated the F-86 NVG mod.  Most controller lua changes seem administrative in nature.

That said, if you discover any broken mappings, please post them here so I may integrate them into the next hotfix.  I'd like to get this out over the weekend.

All,

I am in the process of upgrading my network infrastructure, which should hopefully show improvements in reliability in the coming days (i.e. my not having to keep resetting the server).  Once the upgrade is complete, I will post a new downloadable version of CTS with updated links.

Until the server is back up, I've posted the files on my Google Drive.  Just extract the zip files to your CTS folder and they're nested properly to go to the folders they should be in.  The version.txt will let you compare existing files with the updated files to see what needs to change (if you don't want to do a complete install).

Just to keep things simple, the hotfix for DCS 2.9 will come once the infrastructure is upgraded.  The only thing you'll really miss until then are NVGs on the F-86.

Hey HomeFries,

I DL'd the files from Google drive and when I extracted them to the CTS Folder they did not seem to be properly nested unless I did something wrong unzipping them?? but they did not put the fileswhere they belonged. it was just all unzipped folders in the CTS folder..

hello,

I am struggling with the Track IR center function:

- I did set it properly in the Naturalpoint Track ir software (ctrl-shift-F12)

- I launch the CTS

- On the desktop, I try the S3+S4 on the joystick..it doesn't work, I go in DCS, it doesn't work also

- if I use my own BMS setup up (by using F12) it works. So it is definitely not a joystick issue as I tested both S3 and S4 separatly and they work.

Does anyone face the same issue ?

thanks in advance for your help

best,

Pascal

As you notice you must configure your Track IR Center function with Ctrl + Shift + F12

In CTS Hardware Configuration, have you set Head Tracking Hardware to 1 ?

Have you tested this combinaison of keys outside DCS to check if it center well your track IR ?

Have you tested to check "Exclusive" for the Track IR profile you have defined for DCS and that use this combinaison Ctrl + Shift + F12 , to be sure it's this one that is run ?

Which program did you use, and did you make sure nesting was enabled when you extracted?

I use 7zip, I looked and did not see an option to enable nesting. I will look again..

I downloaded the files from your Google Drive and currently following your superbly written manual to install - I wish commercial software providers went to such lengths.

I'm having trouble finding the profile for one of the aircraft I own, the P51 profile - its not in the Modules screen.

I have profile jpgs form 36 aircraft in Explorer but only 35 aircraft are listed on the Modules Page - everything is listed except the P51.

Is it just not included in the Google Drive files?

Thanks

Hey!

As TF-51 is a free module and P-51 shares all the settings with it, it is not listed to be enabled.
It’s in the script by default.

Happy flying Max.

Hi Home Fries,
Just wondering if you plan in short/medium future to acquire Mirage F1 module and develop a profile for it ?
I am hesitating to purchase a module when it doesn't have a profile in CTS 😉

Dang.  Server is down.  Bummer.  I need to upgrade.  Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

See the Google Drive link in the initial post.  This is the solution for the time being.

I do have a Mirage F1 plan but it won't be until CTS 3.0.  I'm at the stack limit of what TARGET will allow, and to add more I need to completely revamp the system.  I do have a plan for this, but I just need the time to implement it.

Even if it can take a while (what I understand), nice to hear that

All,

It's been a while, but I'm happy to announce that I have a persistent solution to hosting that takes the CTS content off my NAS and onto the cloud.  I would like to thank @VAF [136] Striker of the Virtual Armed Forces (shameless plug) for the storage space.

A month ago, I had to change my network solution, and with the new solution I was unable to forward the HTTP port to my NAS, and I refuse to set it up as a DMZ.  Once the cloud-based solution is finalized (thanks again, VAF, in another shameless plug), I will upload a new installer EXE as well as an updated version.txt for you to use if you don't wish to reinstall.  In the meantime, the latest files are still available on my Google Drive.  Just extract the zip files to your CTS folder and they're nested properly to go into the folders they should be in.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Hello,
Unfortunately I can't get any further with the profile.
When I start the target software this message appears: Running script: C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\scripts\DCS_World.tmc
Compile Error:Type required in sys.tmh at line 1

Since I understand English very poorly, I would be happy if someone could help me in German.
Thanks a lot
Werner

First, you shouldn't install CTS to your TARGET folder in c:\Program Files (x86).  This is a protected folder.  Install CTS to someplace like your Documents folder.  CTS will find your TARGET install.

Next, be sure to compile DCS_World.tmc in the CTS graphical user interface prior to running it.

I'm sorry I can't spell this out auf Deutsch. Ich habe 2.5 jahre Deutsch gelernen, aber Ich vergessen!

Everyone,

I'm happy to announce that version 2.72 is released, along with a new webhost that should provide better uninterrupted service than my personal NAS.

A new installer is available in the original post, as well as an updated version.txt that you can place in your CTS\DB folder.  However, if you do not wish to do a full update, you can open your existing version.txt and replace the top line with this entry:

http://cts.virtualarmedforces.com/CTS/DCS/CTSversion.txt

I would also like to give a special shout out to the Virtual Armed Forces for hosting CTS going forward.  This may seem a bit self-serving since I am a member of the VAF, but I cannot appreciate enough their commitment to the storage and bandwidth CTS requires.  If you ever want to play PvE multiplayer in a competent, yet relaxed atmosphere, give the VAF a look.  You can also see us in the Air Combat Sim Podcast #42!
