hazzer Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I have found that when I am flying around airports or places with buildings my fps drops alot. It does this more so when online around aircraft, its nearly unplayable. Is there any settings i can change or anything i can modify. These are my current settings: Textures: high Scenes: high Civ traffic: off Water: low Vis Range: high Heat Blur: off Shadows: High Resolution: 1360x768 Aspect ratio: 16:9 Monitors: 1 screen res of cockpit displays: 512 msaa: 4x Hdr: off Clutter/Bushes: off Tress visibility: 5000m Preload Radius: 80000m Tree Shadows:off vsync: off full screen: on cockpit shadows: off tssaa: off Pc specs: Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 CPU AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 32nm Technology RAM 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 806MHz (9-9-9-24) Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. AtaliaA1 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) The HDD could be changed to an SSD. That's about all I see. But you didn't say what ver. of DCS you are using? Have you overclocked that CPU? Edited January 11, 2014 by AtaliaA1 This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. Snaut Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Make sure your aa method setting for the radeon is multisampling. Vis range medium should give you noticeable improvement. How much memory does your Radeon have? With textures on high you will max out 1GB quickly. What fps are you getting with this setup? MSI GTX 770 2GB -> 1920x1200, MSI H97M, Xeon 1231v3, 16GB
Snaut Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 If I have to, what should I upgrade? I would get a CPU with stronger single-core performance and a stronger GPU with lots of video memory. SSD will not improve your fps. MSI GTX 770 2GB -> 1920x1200, MSI H97M, Xeon 1231v3, 16GB

I have 1024mb When in the air I get 28fps but when on the ground its goes between 12-18fps. RTX 2080ti, I7 9700k, 32gb ram, SSD, Samsung Odyssey VR, MSFFB2, T-50 Throttle, Thrustmaster Rudder Pedals
Kuky Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 You should upgrade 1st CPU and then also video card. SSD will only improve game & mission loading time, nothing else. ENO Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 But if you don't have one of those- an i5 4670k is scrumptious. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art

I am fairly confident that when I (stressing 'i' here) upgraded from a hd that was not a ssd to ssd, there was a noticeable increase in performance, in game. "Look buddy, this is all I got...." sorry, couldn't help with the terminator connection... :megalol: As you note, wouldn't mind the i5 4670K.
