Incredibly loud AI Corsairs - Can't hear my own engine start
RacerOne replied to RacerOne's topic in Bugs and Problems
Copy all. I guess I've just never noticed it with any of the other aircraft, except maybe the Tomcat. It certainly isn't as loud with a Mustang or Thunderbolt when they are on the field. I'm not talking about if the aircraft is right next to you. This is when I'm on the parking stand at the start of a mission and clear on the other side of the field a Corsair starts up. It's so loud I simply wait for him to start up, taxi and takeoff before I do anything. Same thing happens (I'm talking specifically on the Marianna's cold start mission, when the two Corsairs come in and land. As soon as they hit the ground I can no longer hear my own engine running, it gets drowned out by two Corsairs rolling to their hardstands until they shut down. -
The F-35B is cool and all, but has some significant limitations over the A such as: A lower airspeed limit of 600KIAS (compared to 700 on the A). A G-Limit of only 7 (compared to 9 on the A) A smaller weapons bay which can't fit 2000lb class bombs. It also lacks the internal gun.

celestHawk started following HUD altimeter
-
You probably noticed that the altimeter works as RALT up to 1500m and if you don't bank too much which make it to lose ground (pun intended ) will show BALT. It is not a bug but a mere feature of the airframe as smaller brother to the Su-27 this is common behavior for all fighter jets from the Soviet era.

investigating Radar losing lock way too easy in all modes.
CrazyGman replied to LaCiKa's topic in Bugs and Problems
Practicing against ACE AI and in Mutliplayer the radar does most of the time drop lock if the target beams and drops chaff. Espessially when going cold. Even when using head on and then switching the pursuit, at high altitude. -
The A is First, whenever, then comes the EF :-/

I bet ED's next helicopter will be the Cobra, but I can't say if it will be the most modern version.

MIG-29A BVR - how to force enemy aircraft down low?
TheFreshPrince replied to The Gryphon's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Have you tried the tactic where you constantly notch the enemy in a 90 degree position but also fly very slow and low? It could work to get the enemy closer. -
Awsome thanks!!!

Something I noticed is that when in coop mode if I lock a target and at a fairly long distance with the helmet mounted site. -say 15 km- the irst will lock, and I will eventually get my R73 preped and ready to fire, but the radar will still not fully lock, and prep the R27R radar missiles till several seconds after the R73 are ready to fire. This is annoying because I often want to throw the R-27R out at further range to press the target.

Never mind figured out that you need to load into your mission and out again to see summer textures in satellite view (In the mission Editor).

For some reason the PRMG guidance dies during the mission. All that's left is the direct route to the selected airfield, with no guidance to the glide-slope. In this video I'm flying from Mozdok to Maykop. Maykop is selected in the NAV computer, both the RSBN and PRMG channels are set, and it's in RETURN mode. I'm receiving PRMG guidance as evidenced by the steering circle located high on the heading tape. You can see me cycle the airfields to show I'm receiving guidance from all three programmed airfields. Everything is good. At 19 minutes into the mission I lose PGRM guidance - the steering circle drops to the centre of the HUD. I cycle through and show all three airfields have lost guidance. The NAV computer doesn't show any change, I'm still in RETURN mode. I've run this mission a few times now with the same result, although the time the malfunction happens varies (15, 16, 19 minutes) PGRM dead test 2.trk Test Mig-29A Fulcrum RSBN-PRMG.miz

Incredibly loud AI Corsairs - Can't hear my own engine start
Art-J replied to RacerOne's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think what OP wants to point out is whacky volume balance in Corsair module specifically, compared to all other DCS warbirds, which have their external/AI sounds noticeably more quiet (at least idle and low RPM sounds). That was something that surprised me immediately after release as well. Since we can't tune sounds individually per aircraft, changing global settings isn't great solution really, 'cause it will mess up balance in all remaining modules. -

investigating Radar losing lock way too easy in all modes.
wcdiver replied to LaCiKa's topic in Bugs and Problems
From my experience: Using Head On and Pursuit mode is far superior to using automatic mode. So for targets that are far away: Head On mode, then setup the bracket at the relative distance to the target, and then setup antenna elevation to the target relative altitude. When target is close enough - switch to the Pursuit mode and check the antenna elevation (make sure that is not pointing too high / too low). Here is an example: lock achieved at 80+ km using Head On mode and correct antenna elevation. -
Hello, I've noticed several times that when flying at high altitude (11–12000 ft), the Apache doesn't respond as I expect it to ... Basically, I receive warnings about rotor RPM being low while at 80 / 85 % torque It would seem that the low rpm alert is tied to the amount of collective I pull and not the amount of torque being used. To me, it looks like an error, but since I'm not an expert about helicopter physics, I might be wrong.

Return button should, as the name says, return you to original airport where you took off. Airport 1. It probably was designed for that. You can select other airports manually after. Not I am not 100% sure if this is the case in RL, but it seems logical.

can not reproduce Throttle settings not saved 29 only
BIGNEWY replied to Tshark's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hi all, sorry but we have not been able to reproduce this issue, can you retry and attach your dcs logs from the session thank you -

Latest, and latest! I allways install updates. And one more thing: I use process lasso to keep the "Pi_server.exe" away from my core#4 which is the DCS' main CPU core. If they share, the core will (often) max out.
