The update pays special attention to the islands, each of which has its own airfield, ready for use in missions: Alderney Island is the northernmost of the Channel Islands. Guernsey Island is an important strategic point. Like Jersey, the island became part of the Atlantic Wall. Jersey Island is the largest of the Channel Islands, with an area of 116 km2. From July 1, 1940 to May 9, 1945, the island was occupied by Germany. The islands' challenging weather conditions and interesting locations can add variety to your missions. These additions not only visually enrich the game world but also provide a wealth of new flight opportunities and interesting missions—whether taking off from the limited runways of island airfields or operations around iconic fortifications steeped in history.

As stated in my signature, I fly in VR using a Varjo Aero. The default pilot position unpaused can be seen in this screenshot. The shoulder strap clips through the ejection seat. I specified "unpaused" earlier, because when paused (for example using the ESC menu), the pilot model flips into place again becoming unclipped. This is immediately obvious when looking over your shoulder in VR and pressing ESC a few times.

Did some recent update broke elevator trim in P-51D?
milo85 replied to milo85's topic in General Bugs
Yup, it doesn't make much sense but indeed the setting that was messing up my elevator trim (and nothing else) was FF (guess it was on by default on a new PC). When I went to Settings > Misc. and unticked the Force Feedback checkbox the problem is was gone. -
Having paid all the modules and then being thrown out of DCS for such an absurd reason is really a bummer. Why the hack is DCS permanently checking the status of a client by using a i386 computer connected to a 56k modem, standing somewhere in a wet cellar, when the authorization is anyway determined when starting up DCS? I mean, this is simply rediculos in my opinion and ED should really re-think this strategy. I am upset everytime I have a mission opened in the mission editor and then DCS quits without having me saved the mission.

Alright, let's roll! As requested today, England. The DCS: Normandy 2.0 update will add new original objects and islands with airfields. Today we'll show you key objects of England and the islands, which have received significant detail. Each of these objects not only decorates the map but also serves as an important tactical and navigational landmark. Dover Castle is one of the most famous and largest castles in England. It has long been considered the "Key to England." Citadel Western Heights is a powerful fortification in Dover. The Citadel contained barracks, stores, and magazines arrayed around a large parade ground. It later housed a prison. Western Heights of Dover is a complex of defensive fortifications with a rich history. Royal Hospital Haslar is a historic naval hospital in Gosport. During World War II, the hospital established the country's first blood bank, treated casualties from the Normandy landings, and deployed clinicians to field hospitals in Europe and the Far East. It was also a key medical supplies center for the fleet. St. James Hospital is another important infrastructure facility and is popularly known as Jimmy's. HMP Winchester is a prison in Winchester. Its shape makes it easily recognizable from above.

Looks like FSR4 is starting to also work on RDNA 2 & 3 Cards. For now it would require Optiscaler and some dll swaps but eventually it couod become official driver implementation... https://www.guru3d.com/story/amd-fsr-4-unofficially-enabled-on-older-radeon-gpus-via-leaked-int8-dll/

I can’t get the Aekran system set to English, or maybe I just can’t find the option. In Matt’s video you can see that his Aekran is in English. In the Special tab, I’ve set the cockpit to English.

Ok, found it! Go to Settings > Special > UH-1H and untick Autopilot Availability checkbox.

Какая-то дичь происходит с прохождением проверки САУ, судя по всему, из-за работы обратной связи. Как его правильно включить-то?

@ThorBrasil you are correct, I missed that part in the manual Im sorry. I have spent 1 hour now (making 8-10 bombing runs), I can not hit anything either. The bombs continue to fall short all the time no mather what I do.

cannot reproduce AFCS failure on cold start
Jarda replied to Major Corvus's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
I’ve got a Moza AB9 and was playing around with the settings. Looks like the main issue is the force-feedback mode—it’s gotta be set to Integrated, and the axis travel has to be Linear. The rest of the stuff in the basic settings doesn’t really seem to make any difference. I’m flying with the MiG-29 (Crazy Andy) profile I grabbed from the Moza Discord. -
Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
Thundersmoke replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
I do. I’ve got a VPRhino base. My point was that despite any initial damage state the plane or landing gear might be wrongly experiencing at spawn (which I’m not disputing and needs to be fixed), I’m still able to functionally overcome it and use the plane without too much fuss. It doesn’t stop me from taxiiing, taking off, landing, trapping, etc. It’s obnoxious and the worst part of the module to me, but it’s still mostly mission-capable. I’m also often taking off with disgustingly overweight loadouts, so even that’s doable. RE: the vibration — one thought that occurred to me is that I sometimes feel my haptic seat / stick FFB from the flaps after takeoff as I exceed the airspeeds for the higher flaps settings. I think it’s the feedback of them slowly blowing closed if I don’t manually raise them myself first. But the end effect is long, sustained vibration in the stick that’s much longer than a normal flaps actuation. -
i have yet to see this error on my system. when the logs indicate an error, it seems to be something on the computer or their ISP. i am sure ED tries to avoid peak hours for updating. but being literally all of the world, what would be the peak time? perhaps it happens to you because of them doing updates? also it could be their servers overburdened.

Nvidia 5080 4k is awesome
HansPeter1981 replied to m1tp2king's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
m1tp2king could be just trolling... or his english skills are very limited. Best way to compare apples to appples is load the same mission with the same settings take a screen shot of the ingame FPS graph. Also very important to have the same FOV and dont pan the view. For me I like to use K50III convoy hunt mission aftrer the mission starts I leave the standart FOV and just turn the Shkval on.... I bet 5080 4080 4090 5090 are all <90 fps my 7900xtx barely makes 60fps 4x MSAA 4k. -

currenthill replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Sure! I just had to spend some time working on updates and fixes for the core assets. Especially since it was my first update and I needed to understand the process. But as I said earlier, I intentionally started the mod pack updates with the smaller packages, to get a feeling what needed to be done. The work is pretty much linear with the number of assets in a pack. So it takes time. But I'm now back at it again. Just stay tuned. That's correct. The Buk TELAR have its own FCR. Which in itself makes it a tough opponent. Using the external radars will of course extend its capabilities a lot, but it will be able to engage you even without them, in a more limited mode though. -
Yeah. It's a nasty issue that comes up from time to time, this time I went to the forum with that. For a user this error is just a totally unneccessary killer, because it literally stops you being able to play DCS without any reason.

Hello, first of all. Many thanks to ED for implementing the RSBN and PRMG objects. What is your experience with the new RSBN and PRMG units for the L-39? Tried it on Syria placing RSBN and PRMG units for RW17 at Latakia. Works great. One thing I need to investigate further with a clean mission in Caucasus I guess. Having the L-39 in landing / PRMG mode (forward position of RSBN switch), the needle on the HSI swung around while passing the PRMG glideslope object. Being in navigation mode (middle position of RSBN switch), the needle swings correctly next to the RSBN car further down the runway. Thanks Jens

Hi @currenthill It has been more than a month since the first pack update, and the forum has been quite quiet lately. I just wonder if the update process for the other packs still going smoothly? -
I would go on a limb and say it's something on your end. It was plug and play on my Rhino, no tuning needed.
