  2. Hey Actium, thanks for checking! Yeah, I was missing the file dialog you just posted. I deleted the settings.lua in my Save Games\DCS\MissionEditor folder and now its fixed. I guess it tried to open an not existing path anymore or something. =>So, I guess when you run into these problems, reset your settings. I've no idea though, how I got there. I just realized that I used this functions two days ago with the same DCS version ...
  3. Hey, there are three months left until the end of the year. It's great that the MiG-29A FF has arrived, but what about the promised Su-25 FC3 refresh? Maybe some news in the weekly news + some screenshots? Is there still a chance the new Su-25 will appear this year?

  5. One thing that needs to be tweaked is when "the dot" turns into the plane model. Right now, the dot disappears when the model is still smaller than the dot. DLSS has its own problems, and it's a moving target as nVidia keeps kicking out new presets. -Ryan
  6. B650E hätten auch noch paar schöne Kinder. Die in der oberen Klasse z.B. Taichi lite, ROG Strix E-E dann aber auch wieder soviel wie ein B670E kosten. Aber wenn man wie ich, mit nur 2x M.2s und 2 Zusatzkarten auskommen kann, brauch ich vermutlich weder ein X670E noch ein B650 Oberklasse mit zwei "E"s im Namen. Aber das "Bessere" reizt mich hald immer.
  7. I successfully resolved the problem! Repairing with an option to find and delete extra files helped! It found a bunch of MiG-29 9-12 files, and after deleting them authorization passed well! Great thanks, guys!
  8. Yes, your are correct I have forgotten the FBW system. In a dogfight if the pilot skill was the same, wouldn't the miggy have a huge advantage with HMS and off boresight capability?

  10. Did a quick test (on Windows 10). Newly created, empty mission on Caucasus. Added a ONCE trigger with the SOUND TO ALL action and could open the file chooser dialog:
  11. @C0re Gewissermaßen. Die Light hat ja die gleiche Auflösung wie die Crystal OG, aber eben kein Eyetracking. Eyetracking und das damit verbundene Dynamic Foveated Rendering bieten halt ein nicht unerhebliches Plus an Performance bei hoher Auflösung da wo man gerade hinschaut. Q3 und Pico haben von Anfang an eine geringere Auflösung. Die Light hatte ich aber nicht erwähnt, weil sie neu über Deinem Budget liegt. in ein paar Monaten wird von Pimax wohl die DreamAir SE erscheinen, die klingt für mich auch sehr interessant. Als Referenz: Ich hatte mit einer HP Reverb G2 angefangen und bin jetzt seit gut 2 Jahren mit einer Quest Pro unterwegs. Ich hab auch noch eine Pimax Crystal, die ich von jemandem hier im Forum erstanden hatte und die auch sehr gut funktioniert. Insgesamt bevorzuge ich aber tatsächlich die QuestPro, obwohl sie auf dem Papier eigtl die schlechtere VR Brille ist.
  12. Well, ultimately it is pretty pointless to discuss such online without the possibility to experience each other’s hardware (difficult choice of words here ) and what exactly they mean. Obviously you need ‘some’ kind of resistance or friction to keep the stick steady. What I was going for is that you definitely don’t want to fight the typical resistance springs on an average Joystick if possible. Once you positioned the cyclic it should either hold by friction or you should force trim it so that the position is the center of any recentering force. Those are the two ways real helicopters would operate. Smaller lighter ones usually just have basic linkages, and since there act very little outside forces they basically stay put, even if hydraulically augmented. Bigger or more sophisticated ones may have a force trim release system that spring centers the cyclic around a trimmed middle position. Either one is difficult to mimic with a classical joystick. Best approach I could find when I still used a classical Joystick, was “central position trimmer mode”, long extension and light springs with no middle notch (that was already a premium joystick with variable cams and springs). Because fine control (“fingertip control”) is paramount for hovering a helicopter. All those walls of texts basically to hammer home one single message: You don’t want to fight the Stick! (personal/subjective opinion: I’d rather have a completely limp Cyclic than one that has too much resistance)

  15. Wie sieht es da mit der Pimax crystal light aus? Wenn ich doch ein bischen mehr geld in die Hand nehme? Muss ich mich auf einschränkungen in der Leistung einstellen? Ich habe leider nie Kontakt mit VR gehabt, wäre halt doof da auf die Nase zu fallen.
  16. В принципе уже сейчас можно взять любой наземный юнит, прописать ему команду на зацикленную передачу на заданной частоте и мощности, и вот он готовый маяк. Только со звуком для передачи повозиться придется, если хочется, чтобы маяк свое имя передавал морзянкой. А так, конечно было бы удобнее, если б маяк был отдельный юнитом с возможность настройки ему заданного звукового сигнала морзянкой, а не рандомного звука.

  23. Ja ja, je mehr rezensionen man liest, desto überall findet man was. msi und der RAM z.B. Das Carbon ist schon schick preislich aber nochmal ordentlich drüber, und da frag ich mich schon, ob mir das den Aufpreis gegenüber dem Tomahawk wert sein soll. Hab bei NBB auch eine B-Ware entdeckt. U.a. steht da "2x Halterungen fehlt" was könnte das sein? 2 von den 3 M.2. Clips? Das wäre zu verschmerzen. Weil sonst schreiben sie auch mal "Sockelhalterung fehlt" aber das wär ne andere Hausnummer.
  24. No, Block 15 MLU did, and only in foreign service. The MLU package gave them avionics and cockpit similar to F-16C. Stock Block 15 was heaters only, it was the last F-16A. Sparrows were only on a single ANG variant (either Block 15 or 30, I'm not sure), no other Viper carried them. It's still the same generation, and very similar role, that of a lightweight, short range, low cost dogfighter. And you're forgetting one extremely important feature of the Viper: the FBW system. It had a better RWR, sure, but the big deal was its novel control system. It would have been a particularly good match for our MiG-29, at least if it survived to the merge.

Hello Everyone, I've a plain and hopefully simple to replicate issue that when I want to add a sound to the mission, the dialog to select a sound file is not showing up anymore in the mission editor. To replicate: create new mission, add a trigger, add sound to all, try to select a sound -> no dialog. It still works for pictures and script files though. Tried on Caucasus and Cold War German maps, but I don't think it is related to the maps. does anyone else have this issue?
  26. Then technically we might have 3 in the works. The original Wild weasel was the F-100F they didn't have ARMS so they attacked sams with cluster bombs. They were retired as Wild Weasles very early on, my dad started EWO training in the summer of 1966 and the Hun had just been retired as a Wild Weasel. We have a single seat Hun in the pipe but some of the code could be reused EF-4C they were converted towards the end of Rolling Thunder of course we have the F-4E which were converted into the F-4G I didn't say we had a weasel in the pip just the base aircraft used for weasels in the Pipe and we have the F-100
