Make sure you have the windows installer service running. If not, set it to start automatically and reboot. if you don’t have the windows installer service or it won’t start, you need to reinstall windows - it’s broken, usually due to an over eager attempt to “de-bloat” it.

Now it´s absolutely clear: Every time I gave a command (i.e. engage bandits) to flight or ATC I got an fps-impact from 60fps (constant) to 29 fps for 30 seconds. I repeated this 15 times with a timedistance of about one minute - every time the same framerate-impact. Think it´s a bug. p.s.: I use the keystrokes "menu/F1/F3/F1" for the command "engage bandits".

Did you see what the temps were at on the 3090? IT seemed to have crashed pretty quick did you try and rerun the test and see if maybe it was a glitch of sorts.. if you do run the temps does the fane seem to be spiining as well?

hi Qcumber, I tried downloading and running the XRFrameTools installer, but was unable to get it to install. It did nothing. (There was no popup, no setup, anything). Just wondering if I'm doing this right, or if it installs silently behind the scenes, etc? Thanks actually_fred. I'll try changing mine and will see if I notice any difference. Also - very strange, but I was playing DCS on the weekend and stumbled across the stuttering again (with Turbo mode on). I task swtiched out and loaded up Rivatuner and task switched back in, and it locked straight to 72 fps, and went from flashing between Orange & Red CPU bound, to a green GPU Bound - and a theoretical limit in the high 90's. (I was running at 72fps). I don't doubt that the FPS limiter in Rivatuner is not ideal, and may cause microstutters, but it's far better than the frequent jittering that I get without it. (This changes depending on the mission/conditions. It's as though I must be close to the limit of CPU binding with whatever the spikes are, and once it goes over, it starts to fall apart). Very confusing to see how many different settings work so differently for different users. You've almost got to be an IT Technician just to use DCS in VR these days it seems.

I would really like to help but you have not really answered the question I asked about maintaining the minimum frametimes. The only data that you have shown is at 45 fps and/or with high frametimes. In my experience if you exceed 13.9 ms with 72Hz you will get stutters. Even with reprojection. The other issue is if you are using OXRTK (or QVFR) Turbo mode. This can help. But in some cases it can make stutter worse.

Is it related to any particular map or module, or is it a general issue? I have a very similar system to yours. Perhaps you could share a mission file that gives you the most problems, and I can have a look? There are issues with stuttering that were introduced a few patches ago so that would be up to ED to fix, but I think that's a different issue than what you are experiencing... In any case, if you want I can take a look (tomorrow as it's bed time now ).

@MigpartsFrom the air intakes I would say that it is a PZL Kania. I would also like to see a Mi-2 in DCS. Especially since in my unit where I served, I have been retired since February , they still fly and are used for training. Poland is probably the last country where the Mi-2 is still used by the military.
