  2. Correct, the clipped wings were to improve roll rate. However, as I stated they were considerably more clipped than what was done to the Corsair.
  3. Please tell me, do I need to install these mods on a dedicated server if they are installed on the clients?
  4. Wow! I thought the mod was completely abandoned, but here's a surprise! Thank you so much! Btw. Could you add a slightly better rotor animation? Is that possible? It would also be nice to have a slightly better glass effect on the inside. If possible :).
  5. It's odd. I think this was happening before the ATP was released. You don't really notice this when using standoff weapons. Usually I notice this when coming into a landing pattern. Steerpoint for the airfield is still right in the middle of a runway. TGP looks right at the steerpoint, but HUD/HMCS can be off like 100 yards. -Ryan
  6. Good list. I don't think in all my time on a B-52 I knew that much about the ADR-8. If I understand what they have done is use the right pylon to hang a more than one type of TGP. As for the ECM capabilities, I wish DCS had EW. That's a good list.
  7. I used a 4040 extrusion but had to make the hole a little bit wider. It mounted perfectly. So that's also a good option.
  8. Now with ED for upload Thanks LG

  10. Agreed, and I think that AI and scripting support in DCS has become decidedly subpar. DCS's future will live and die by good content: what people can do after they master a module. What's problematic here: IMHO DCS today is hell for content creators. Content creation tools (Mission Editor, QAG) are abysmal, support for content creators is non-existent, community content integration into DCS is not even planned (how do players discover community content from within DCS? They don't - it's not integrated, even though ED host 'user files'. Publish/update a mission to ED's User Files for content creators from Mission Editor? Nope - even though the creators are logged in. Have these been suggested to ED? Oh, yes. Any response from our 'community managers'? You must be new here). Support for better API (cargo management, events, unit tasking, multiplayer, persistence, security/sandboxing)? Community suggestions are ignored, and as the last 'dostring_in()' brouhaha in July showed, ED's is long on ignoring the community, and seemingly quite short on good talent. The constant stream of exceedingly low-quality additions to DCS Core (save state, QAG, warehouse API, cargo UX), combined with a consistent lack of central improvements (AI, ATC, Mission Scripting API, UX) after more than a decade of feedback has cooled my enthusiasm for DCS significantly - to a point where I no longer can be bothered to contribute (I have occasionally contributed in the past). The tools are terrible, DCS core seems to deteriorate, and the community managers simply aren't. Hopefully the fine people at ED can turn DCS around, and re-kindle our love.
  11. African PvP mission recreating the Yom Kippur war between Egypt and Israel in 1973. Flight Leaders will plan the mission referring to the Briefing, including routes, target options and flights composition.

  13. There's a lot of threads about fixing problems and working around bugs, because DCS is an old piece of software with heaps of technical debt piled on over the years. ED is chipping away at it, trying to make it more maintainable, but it's a slow process. Add to it the fact that the simulation is complex and inherently resource intensive, and you've got something that takes some effort to make work correctly. IMO, the single worst offender is the mission scripting system, which is so ridiculously brittle that complex campaigns such as Raven One often break on every other update. That's one system that could use one good refactoring pass behind the scenes (preferably leaving the language the same, just making it work consistently).
  14. When you guys order the WinWing MCDU or PFP panels, I highly recommend getting the desk mount that they sell as well. It's positions it at a good angle for viewing, is easy to relocate, and provides a stable platform to press buttons. Adds $30 US to the price, but well worth it if you don't have a plan for mounting.
  15. The work continues in earnest on the AWG-15. I had to redesign the WPN SEL wheel again, as taking a second look at the example Tomcat at the museum showed me that I had the display lens far too high up. I also have to recess the DLVY OPTNS rotary knobs further into the panel as those weren’t supposed to be flush. Regardless… here’s another photo!
  16. Hey look it's the same usual crowd.
  17. Today
  18. Fully understand. So what should I do? pin ED staff?
  19. Roger that.
  20. I’ve forwarded this to the dev team and am waiting for their input. Will be away from the office tomorrow but will be back over the weekend.
  21. found a way to get rid of the default sound all together. should be fixed now
  22. I've ordered a PSVR2 from Amazon to see how it looks. It's arriving tomorrow.
  23. I am by no means expert on the weapon at all. So I cannot answer these questions (maybe someone else can). But these are points you have to consider if you are having a bad time hitting anything with them in-game and want to improve your experience. Once you kinda understand that they arent just "fire and forget" and put more thought into employing them, it will also work better
  24. I think it was to improve roll-rate. I can't think of any other flight dynamics benefit. The induced drag is smaller with rounded wingtips if I'm not mistaken (that's why the spit has them in the first place I guess). But I might be completely mistaken - that's out of my league to be honest.
