Stutters on 9800X3D 96 RAM in MP
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to SpecteRED's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I’m not undervolting, so it’s just the default settings. My temperatures stay low because I can hear that by the sound level of the fans. I have a custom fan curve that lets them speed up when the temperatures reach high levels but that doesn’t happen in DCS (other than due to a bug a while ago that was fixed). -
The stutters when players join/disconnect is very intermittent. It will only happen on some servers, and only some of the time. You mentioned using your wifes machine earlier, you might want to try having both machines logged into the same server at the same time if possible. You will likely see them both stutter at the exact same moments. A server like growling sidewinder for example is far less likely to have any of these join/disconnect stutters, but a more busy server like 4YA will have them more often. Particularly if 4YA are still using non dynamic slots, I haven't checked in a while if they're still on the old slots or not.

now I really only have statturs when another player join/disconnect, but they didn't happen before. also, there are no 13700 of them either. So this is a solvable problem. moreover, I see such a problem in star citizen. And I saw a similar situation on Reddit in Final Fantasy (online).

According to he's OP, he's not using VR but TrackIR. Just mentioning it. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Yes, I did it. I'm pretty sure it's not about the Windows settings, because with the same Windows settings, I used 2 different processors and there were statters on one, but not on the other. I didn't have any statters. Then I changed the processor and the motherboard and the statters appeared. everything else remained unchanged (antivirus, USB devices, Windows settings, video card) I'm talking about the voltage curve. I have -25 and a stress test temperature of 72 degrees. game 62 degrees

Your opinion of Enigma is irrelevant I only posted him because like the OP he felt that there should be more FC style modules, which is the discussion at hand. As I stated my view is that no there should not be any more FC style modules in DCS and that FC should have been spun off provided that the spin off product supports modules and shares enough code that you could connect to the same server and share campaigns and missions (or at least convert them easily) .

If you don't feel comfortable editing the file yourself. Helios is an option to help you easily build it, even if you don't plan on exporting anything. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk -
Oh, they do give credit at times. The A-4E has been featured in videos. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Any chance you gents are looking at any future Helos like the Jolly Green, Sea Stallion, H-34 Choctaw, H-19 Chickasaw, or CH-54 Sky Crane? Would love to see a proper H-19 or H-34. Also, greatly appreciate all your hard work. Been putting a Vietnam airbase together on the WW2 Marianas map using the VWV pack, VAP pack, and Eighballs civilian maritime pack. Should have a video up soon. I will throw it on here. Looking forward to incorporating your mod pack going forward I have some suggestions for further Vietnam Maritime assets I think you gents or Eightball would be awesome at bringing to DCS.

get the resolution width of each monitor. in DCS you are basically making one very wide monitor. then you have to modify an LUA with the appropriate parameters. this forum may have your answer. https://forum.dcs.world/forum/999-multi-display-support/ i have one monitor so i cannot share my file with you. say i have 3 exact monitors 3440x1440. 3440x3 (10320) would be my number. -
Oh, and there is one other MP specific stutter bug to be aware of. It was partially fixed earlier this year/last year (it was VERY bad for a while), but it's not gone entirely by any means. Sometimes ground units taking damage from certain munitions (or certain units being damaged at all) would also cause server wide stutters. Mavericks in particular were bad for triggering them. These stutters when ground and naval units were taking fire would also show up in track replays in a repeatable fashion, so it's possible they affected SP just as badly. But generally the more complex the MP mission and the more ground units there are the more the odd performance issues start to stack up. Keep an eye on the chat feed for AI units being killed that coincide with the stutters, as well as players joining/disconnecting/dying. You might see some of them match up.

Interesting illumination.

@BIGNEWY @NineLine Any sign of the landing gear on this, the Mosquito and the Thunderbolt being fixed in replays yet? It's still three planes that I can't watch back. I won't send in a .trk file as you have already had plenty, certainly from me.

The X3D's also perform much better at 1% and 0.1% lows. Unfortunately stutters in DCS in VR are notoriously tricky to track down. It can be memory, vram, third party monitoring overlays/apps (CPU temp monitoring, RTSS, MSI afterburner etc), antivirus software, the CPU itself, BIOS settings (or bad BIOS versions), the GPU or specific GPU driver versions, issues in the VR software itself, wireless problems if playing in wireless VR, usb problems if over USB. And then there are the DCS bugs and server side performance issues. That's without even getting started on in-game settings. Just got to go through it all to track them down. It does get frustrating. The stutters when players join/disconnect you can at least rule out as something you can't control. It happens to every user connected to the server when it's happening, not just you.

Well done! You've put in so much work into this!

If a mod team wants to create something official, they need access to the SDK, and that's what it means to become an official third party. And this isn't the first time a mod team has become one. Remember that ASC and C130 was a mod team, and now they're making an official module as 3rd party.

I take it you also added exclusions for all DCS folders (both main folder and saved games) in your antivirus software, and are making sure no other processes interfere while gaming/simming? Have you debloated Windows and made sure the amount of processes running stays at a minimum required level, without stuff running in the background that’s not needed? -
Very Sad also the ED Moderators and Helpers and the DCS TEAM Must know about the Huge 4 engined Ai Lancaster Bomber project. But as usual they sit back and give ZERO HELP with information about the problems with development A huge bomber project done for free in spare time and theres a stoney Silence from the TEAM Wont hurt to Wake up and give some credit to users who build MODS once in a while

Did I make a Mistake Windows 10 to 11
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to chardly38's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes, there is. The difference can be “just” 10% but can also be quite massive. Even 10% is well worth the effort of doing a fresh install, in my opinion. 24H2 was a pretty substantial upgrade for AMD CPUs, and for me there was a very noticeable difference between upgrade and fresh install.
