reported already Troops embarking in DCS 2.9
Ripcord replied to Abburo's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
Ah hold on, a UH-1 will pick up that stationary JTAC infantry troop - you gotta land right on him almost, but he just disappears and the Huey flies off. EDIT: actually the UH-1 will land right on them and kill them. So that's an interesting twist. -
Got a chance to fly the C-130J. It did, with all due respect, feel better than the C-130 mod. But then again, I was not using my own rig or HOTAS so pretty much everything I fly will feel different. It was nice though. I met up with Xpendable there and he was saying that he inadvertantly had the C-130J throttle thrown to reverse, and it started taxiing backwards. By the time he had gotten control of it again, it had been backward taxiing at 80 kts! Wow. It was also great to meet Baltic Dragon, what a great guy. Here is me, Baltic Dragon, and Xpendable. v6, boNes

Cannot confirm. Autorudder unchecked in special settings and no rudder inputs observed during takeoff. Perhaps it's the old issue where it's secretly enforced in the mission. Can you specify which mission(s) you tried it with? And a track or the mission itself would help to confirm that.
-
It is possible to look around using head tracking (say TrackIR) while driving a tank. It could be enabling by "TrackIR on external view" option. It works fine in isometric view, but breaks in first person view - sight is moved by the head instead of mouse. head-tracking-breaks-aiming.trk

hi, @NineLine The auto-rudder is back on during the take offs. DCS does not honor the "no auto rudder" setting in the Special menu, and it's turning it on on every take off / landing. I'm not attaching a track because you can replicate it by trying to take off with D9. It's the same story with the A8. I'll open a bug report there as well. Cheers.

Jester Not Recognizing my Designated Ground Target

Any of the Foothold missions in MP. On rare occasion it might work, but not very likely. v6, boNes -

In order to work, Patriot site's ECS must have line of sight to a target, which, I guess, is wrong. It is the only manned vehicle in a site, why would it require to be exposed? It used to work fine without line of sight, but then it has been changed without a mention in patch notes, so assume it is a bug. P.S. I would imagine it must be somehow connected to radars and launchers, but it isn't the case in DCS, which is fine because it helps to offset AI stupidity (smart AI is very hard). I originally saw this in the Germany map and now I am seeing it in the Kola map as well. I can pilot the bird to a sneaky 20 feet and then switch to the cpg to start throwing missiles. As soon as I enter the front seat we bob up to 110 feet. I check the Hover menu to George the pilot in the back seat and can set altitude to 0 but he still stays at 110 feet. This gets you spotted and killed fast. Anyone else seeing this?

After setting to let Windows manage the Pagefile, today the problem of DCS being unresponsive showed up again. I have attached the latest log in case you need it. I have now set up a No Paging File since you mentioned I don't need a pagefile because of my 128Gb RAM. Let's see what happens. dcs.log

I would like to add 3 observations/gripes.. 1. So, do JTAC infantry objects not move? What's up with that? I guess that means no way to embark/disembark a JTAC group? 2. We have RPG-toting insurgents... Can we not get this as regular infantry ground guy? I mean, it's just a different model, really, same in-game logic. 3. Is there no way to allow for 'embarking' a downed pilot? This seems like such an obvious feature to have, after all these years... You need a lift? Nah, I'm good...

When departing from the hanger I head straight and turn right for RWY05, and I have to maintain a relatively quick taxiing speed to avoid the humvee that initially stopping in front of the wingman bumping into my back engines as it will chase me on the same route with at a certain speed. That's how I failed the mission in the first attempt. Any way to improve this? After landing, I was prompt to taxi to slot 19 (or 18, I forgot), I end up in the place like this It's a dead end labeled 19 on the AIRPORT DIAGRAM and I received no further prompt that I've received the destination.

Yeah, I'd much rather see a sooner implementation of the improved radar mechanics, even if at cost of further delay to the release of the F1M. Maybe servers would finally allow the F1 to carry the SARH missiles when available...

Just be aware that Windows may decide to give the devices a new ID when you unplug and replug them which can mess with your bindings. You can rename the config files, but it may not be as easy as unplug/replug (which may work, especially if you shut down your computer when doing it, but no guarantees). If you're leaving both plugged in there is no issue. As an example, a squad mate realized they hadn't plugged there joystick in, and since they had VR up and on they just plugged it in "hot" and it changed ID's which messed with the bindings.

Hi! Mission 10 requires a show of force in a contested area with manpads... OK, risky but feaseble....after all you are calling yourself a "Weasel"... I tried twice and I was blown up by the manpad... I came to this forum and saw many pleople complaining about it, but instead of crying, giving up or complaining I've decided to master it... so I create a mission at the mission editor with the same payload and weight, with a MANPAD at 0,6nm to learn how to dodge it...played it more times than I can count... At 3000ft and 0,6nm from the manpad (like in the real mission)... Manpad missile comes with high energy and its very hard to dodge it unless the missile pick the wrong target by "pre-flares"... At higher altitudes like above 7000ft its much easier...but then its not a "show of force"... At high speeds like mach 1,05 or 650kts you get in and out the manpad WEZ range really fast but the jet isn't very manuverable, so again you rely on the missile picking one of your flares... at 400kts its very maneuverable but the manpad will likely shot you twice... My final solution was... doing the show of force at 4500ft instead of 3000ft, slightily offset the trucks... by 0,1nm or so... and my slant distance from the manpad went from 0,6nm to about 1nm... with the extra room your chances of survival improve significantly... After trying several aproaches (even the sugested orthogonal defense) my final tatic was: (no pre-flare to be able to dodge it,only in my trainning mission, the real one I was of course pre-flaring) 550kts...As soon as I got shot by the manpad, Engine to idle and wait 2 secs (to allow the EGT to reduce temperature so your flares look more attractive) then flares as you pull up (the first flares go in your last trajectory this way) then turn into the missile but keep some room to turn harder in the missile when its very close about to hit you, and do that aplying full power...(when it works You feel like a "Maverick")...keep the missile in sight at all times... OR At mach 1,05 ou 650kts, As soon as I got shot by the manpad, Engine to idle and wait 2 secs then flares as you pull up, if the missile is still inbound for you ....turn away from the missile... still idle changing your trajectory..and perform a hard tuneau (barrel roll) flaring as much as you can... (the best rate of survival aproach in my tests) Used program 4... Nailed it on my third attempt.

UNBOX the SEQ in the bottom right hand corner of your SA or HSI page. When boxed it will only allow you to cycle between WP's that are part of that sequence (which can't include markpoints).
