My first advice in almost all cases will almost always be skip meta link and just go for virtual desktop. I just did another try last couple days with meta link and just convinced me even more how better virtual desktop is. It just gets better and better with each update, totally unlike meta that just breaks, removes useful things and gets less and less user friendly for dcs.

You can safely comment out the Helios line in the export.lua and the exports will be fine after Helios installs the patches. Helios doesn't do any exports by itself, (except for custom instruments), while it's very handy to write the files for you. Any reason you just don't make a mod and apply it after each update with a mod manager? A much quicker and easier process. Seconds instead of minutes. I have all the modules and have exports even for modules that don't really have them, like the MB-339, I couldn't be bothered to edit all those files. Cheers!

okopanja started following How export map terrain for TacView?
-
Just did this for myself. It's very easy to use and ridiculously simple. 1. Enable Tacview Terrain export in Special section 2. Open one of the quick start missions on terrain you need 3. Click on Fly, the DCS will freeze, wait it is exporting the terrain 4. Once it unfreezes, exit mission and disable the Tacview Terrain export again 5. Once you finish you find your exported terrain tails here: C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\Terrain\DCS World Caucasus: ~11MB Syria: ~18MB 6. Open tacview and enjoy your new terrain maps, which should be accurate to the terrain in DCS.

Shift +R works!! I dont know why but it works! Thx a lot for your help

Far more than Block 1, that's for sure! Absolutely! I guess that @TotenDead has been living under a rock and failed to notice what Israel did to Iran recently with their F-35s (Block 3F's, by the way).

If the glidepath car and the localizer car are both on the same channel (24 in the example) how do they not interfere with each other? Are they not both producing both localizer and glidepath information?

Request for a legacy SPO-15 realism option

I still can't understand why simplify what makes this game beautiful? In the modules, a lot of things are already simplified, especially depressing the default position of the tumblers and various kinds of regulators. Much is included, configured and does not require intervention. (The same Apache will not lie) -

This is interesting to me and, I presume, also for some of you who do not want to migrate by force to Windows 11 (Windows 10 is now over EOL). In the next coming months, there'll be changes on Linux that should (finally) boost Nvidia, to work as good there as it does in Windows (if not better, considering its other advantages). Bazzite, Pop!_OS and other distros have been getting big momentum and will start propagating Linux usage in coming months and years. I'm only presuming now but, more hardware and software developers will start looking that way. So, and just a FYI:

Nobody is asking for the game to be made casual, you are free to play it as realistically as you please. All that is being asked here is that an option could be made available for those that want it. Nobody would become disadvantaged or have their realism spoiled if this option became available. All the hard core 'real' pilots, will still have their beautifully modelled as real as it gets SPO-15. While the rest of us can enjoy our snap views, labels, easy radios, easy INS, auto rudder and if we are lucky an easy SPO-15 when mission designers allow.

I‘ve tested a lot these days. if i turn the ECCM switch to AJ i can lock targets from greater distance. Regarding pK i did not see an improvement. Almost every R-27r/er is getting either chaffed away or outmaneuvered. Tested on hostile mig-21 and 23. The dcs ai is still stupid as it was years ago. No matter what, enemies starting their evasive meneuver at ~10nm range from them to the missile. That behaviour is hardcorded and includes fox1 and fox3 missiles. Fox2 works good imho. Next on my list is a 2-Ship flight wirh my buddy. He is firing his 27ER, while i try to send my 27ET after his fox1.

Training mission only starts out of Mission editor
mkel2010 replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in Bugs and Problems
Most likely issue is that the training missions are in the DCS World folder. You probably won't be able to start them from the training menu. They should be placed in the Save Games Missions folder. I use the same Missions and have them in the Saved Games folder. They will start from the Missions menu without first opening them in the Mission editor. -
I agree. Good thing is, this is setting a standard that others will hopefully try to match. Let's just hope they don't end up on the radar (har har) of that weird Mario company that holds a patent on having a game play itself when players fail the C130 start-up too many times

Training mission only starts out of Mission editor
RogueSpecterGaming replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in Bugs and Problems
Well it says it right there "To be started from the Mission Editor". Those are official training missions from ED so that is why. You clearly downloaded a set of training missions from the user files and they can only be started from the Mission Editor as the mission creator stated. That isn't a bug or something you can fix. -

Please don't make the game casual! There are other games where you can fly simplified airplanes.
