  8. Excellent stuff: the only proviso I'd make is that 'aiming at, or short of the threshold' will only apply if you intend to flare. If you're in an F-14 or F/A-18, and intend to land hard, carrier-style, your velocity vector wants to be on your intended landing spot so you stay on AoA, and on the intended glide path, until impact.

  11. Hi, First of all, I want to thank ED team for this clean and well appreciated release. The Fulcrum is awesome. Now concerning this topic. I also noticed some inconsistency during radar usage but : at this moment we don't really know how ED team plans to design this radar model. So it is hard to say if something is a bug or not. In the first release of the manual there is no sufficient informations to juge wether or not everything is correct or bugged. Based on what I read in DCS forums or heard from well documented DCS members I made with hexcalidraw a "fulcrum radar workflow". It would be appreciated to have a feedback from ED team and from you guys to have a clear view on : - What we should expect from the radar (in terms of performance etc) - What is implemented or not at this moment - What will be implemented or not in the future - How to correctly operate this radar (it might change depending on DCS tactics or historical doctrines) - Correct this diagram and maybe give an accurate one for the future manual versions if it helps community With that, I think we could have more tools to understand what we are doing, what might be a bug or not and save a lot of time for everyone I guess. PS : I won't debate on open source data or anything else external from DCS forums since I had problems with moderation in the past, so I will rely only on your advice and hopefully on ED team' feedback.   14. Overhead Break: Are We (Once Again) Doing it Wrong? After watching the recent MiG-29 landing tutorials, and remembering the debates that followed the earlier F-16 overhead break video, I thought it’s worth revisiting the overhead break (OHB) from a different perspective. The point is not just HOW to fly it, but WHY it was designed that way in the first place. Without that context, it’s easy to miss the purpose of the maneuver and fall into the same recurring mistakes we see in most DCS tutorials. TAC ATTACK - 1977: the "break" arrival has been designed to avoid the kills in the traffic pattern... As with the previous posts Runway Attacks in DCS World: Is (Almost) Everyone Doing It Wrong ??? and Flying Formations in DCS: Are We (Also) Doing It Wrong?, this is not about calling out individuals. We'll just treat visible mistakes as a learning opportunity, that's the basis of any serious debrief. What matters is understanding the tactical logic behind the OHB, and how to translate that into the sim with the right mindset. Below is a short list of the common errors that keep recurring in tutorial videos: Approaching slow, instead of keeping combat speed until the break Flying directly over the runway centerline instead of offsetting to the cold side Gentle 3G (and even 2G sometimes... looking at you, @Wags for the MiG-29 landing tutorial ) breaks that don’t place you properly abeam Eyes glued to the HUD instead of scanning outside Using the “45° cue” regardless of spacing, leading to huge base legs Flat final turns instead of rolling aggressively nose-low Touching down one-third into the runway like a civilian airliner instead of maximizing runway length Dropping the nose immediately on touchdown instead of using aerodynamic braking (unless chute-equipped, or not recommended for the aircraft type) Tutorial vs Reality... But the important is WHY such a difference? Missing the reasons for these errors defeats the whole point of the OHB: recover fast, safely, and tactically. I’ve tried to unpacked all of these points in a single article: combat origins, common mistakes, and practical guidance for executing the OHB properly in DCS.   16. Mission 02 (Target Range 101) in stock Campaign Avalanche features target introduction upon mission start. The scripted external view is expected to zoom in from a static view point up high and towards each of the target. But the current version is now zooming in from a view point very close to the ground, near a SA-19 vehicle, which end up looking deep into different patches of grass field. Добрый день у кого есть в наличии РОШ от Вирпилов в Новой базе с Коррекцией, так как все говорили нужно иметь РОШ я его приобрел, кто может помочь разобраться в правильной настройке РОШ , какой Угол желательно выставить для Ми 8, как разобраться с Ручкой коррекцией , и как правильно работать с Кнопкой которая находится на верхней стороне РОШ рядом с Ручкой Коррекции, а еще на левой стороне так же около Ручки Коррекции есть Переключатель как он работает и для чего он нужен.
