  2. some snow liveries (WIP) for the SAM Sites Asset Pack ...
  3. Some new snow liveries (WIP) for HDS mod...
  4. You are correct. We just meant that the missions are very dynamic and exciting.
  5. Couple things: ED isnt implementing any engines. The Airplane Simulation Company is. But I am pleased to inform you that any possible to bind throttles in any configuration!
  6. Exceeding WEP time limits also causes gradual loss of power followed by a seizure. No cockpit shaking or engine temps outside of limits on this failure. More testing needed to see the time limits. Edit: Military power (no wep) also has a time limit. Follow the manual/ kneeboard data. I found max cruise MP/RPM pretty easily in my testing. I'm keeping that to myself tho. Intercooler flap are the key here. Half open usually prevents issues unless your in the high blower too soon.
  7. Carburetor temperatures appear to be VERY aggressive. It seems to take very little time under WEP for the carb temperature warning light to come on, at least at middle altitudes, forcing you to shift to Low or Neutral (even in the Low Blower band) and lose a good chunk of your power in the process. And your engine WILL seize if you don't. Personally I've never been a fan of this sort of engine temp modeling, as it just feels like an artificial limit on the player.
  8. The only Winwing base that is force sensing is the MFSSB base; the Orion II base is the analog base. The shaker kit is meant to give feedback through the stick when you're pulling Gs, firing ordinance, landing, etc. I've had the Orion II base with the F16EX grip without the shaker kit for awhile. I recently got the shaker kit and had the same question about getting it to work. The video below explains how to get it to work about half way through. Basically, you have to have SimApp Pro running, go to the Dynamic Vibration Motor page and chose the game and aircraft. On the Game icon there is a Settings option. Click on that and you get a window that lets you chose Default or Advanced. Default gives you basic shaker behavior while advanced allows you access to downloading other profiles from users or creating a new one on your own. I ended up using a profile uploaded by Reflected. Once downloaded, you will have a run button and three dots. The three dots will open another window with an Edit tab. This allows you to adjust the settings. I haven't a clue what the best settings are. You'll find that the shaker is very subtle. It's not going to even come close to vibrating the stick out of your hand. Unless you have the MFSSB base, set the settings in the Special menu to on and the dead zones to Zero. If you need dead zones for the Orion base, set them in the Controls section.

  10. It seemed to be different to me. If you go full rudder you can sometimes do quick pivot turns. However... I agree it does not behave like any of the other warbirds. Locking up one side without rudder input still locks the whole thing up to a stop and it requires quite a bit of thrust (to the point of almost prop striking or tail bouncing) to get it to start turning.
  11. I did some more testing. Oil temp definitely will cause the engine to seize now too. Seems to only be a problem down low. I bet this becomes a big problem for a lot of new people since the gauge is small and it changes quickly, especially carrier ops. Misuse of the supercharger handle caused issues as well. Sometimes you'd get the knocking noise, sometimes the cockpit shakes quite a bit. Cylinder head temps cause issues. Nothing new here. Overall its a lot to manage. But I think its well done and nothing is surprising or sudden so long as you do normal instrument sweeps.
  12. I preferred prior to this update when you could angle them to look behind you and not just skewed views of my own face.
  13. I don't recall seeing an A6M5 mentioned in the changelog.
  14. I tried again with a smaller ordnance load and no problems. Stuck to two 500lb bombs and four HVARs and the engine did not seize. Although the load of two 500-lb bombs and eight HVARS was within limits on the accompanying chart (98 percent) it seemed to overstrain the engine. I think that was my problem. In other news: I still can't find a WEP switch or the A6M5. I have the latest update but don't see them. Strange.
  15. I'm not sure how I fixed the issue, but everything is working normally following the last DCS update as well as a Windows 11 update.
  16. Oh, wow, there is a real life beside DCS?! Must look for it. Just kidding. Take Your time, @Doughguy. WW2 Pacific is my favourite currently anyhow.
  17. There will be changes coming to the wings' hydraulic system, so I haven't adjusted the animation yet.
  19. @BIGNEWY Has the team had a chance to report anything back on this yet? Latest update still not working. Cheers
  20. Hi @baltic_dragon I made some notes on M10 a while back but forgot to post them. Not sure how relevant they are not as there have been at least 2 major updates since I played the mission, but I'd thought I'd drop them here just in case: M10 - Not sure if I missed some dialogue, but it wasn't obvious that you're still permitted/expected to drop JDAMS normally (having read the book, I expected to have to drop the JDAMS manually somehow) - Hammers datalink not set up correctly - Sweeps just orbit around the boat - Hammers roll-in right initially before turning back for bombing run which was confusing, not sure if there's a way to tweak the waypoint so they roll straight onto target Thanks for a great campaign! Looking forward to trying Dominant Fury soon!
  21. I flight mate of mine got engaged and shot down by an SA-15 while at or near 40,000 ft. This is completely outside the range of the SA-15. We have either have the 9K330 Tor (1986) or 9K331 Tor-M1 (1991) which was introduced with the 9M331 missile, which is more likely. the 9M331 has max altitude of 10km (~32,000 ft) and range of 16km (~10 miles). The Tor-M2E (~2007) still uses 9M331 missiles but greater tracking. I am positive we are not using the 9M338 missile for the Tor-M2E or better variant as that has a similar envelope as the other 2 missile variants I will try to get a track file as soon as I can, but thought I would bring this to your attention. EDIT: I made a couple errors on the missiles. Here is some info on the 9M338 in the Tor-M2DT (2017). The 9M331 has 12 km maximum range and 6 km ceiling. The newer 9M338 can reach altitudes up to 10 km with the same range.
  22. @Skyspin, Confirmed. I just tested the diff braking effect. It's still broken. There was no mention of it in the change log. I wanted to see if the problem was secretly solved. That is a resounding "NO." Can we get a few more Corsair flyers to chime in, please? We need to squeak more loudly to get some grease.
  23. no lock.trk Hello all, Today I was running a dogfight I often do with the Hornet. It's actually the 2v2 DACT training mission from the F-14 instant action folder with the Hornet swapped in for the Tomcat. I was not able to lock anything with TDC depress. I checked my bindings to make sure it was still there and it was. I checked the patch notes for indication that the process of locking targets with the Hornet radar has changed, and to my understanding nothing involving what I was doing has changed, so I thought I'd drop this track here and see if I am indeed doing something wrong or if the process has changed in a way I didn't understand.
  24. So there I am, kicking it old school w/ my Reverb G2, just sittin there, cold start Tomcat, three beers in, reppin' a Felix the Cat livery of the VFA-31, and I bring up the Kneeboard with my trusty VoiceCommand prompt to, you know, "go through the checklist". Very cool. From there it seems to be completely arbitrary: Sometimes I get the small white dot cursor which allows me to grab, move, or re-size the Kneeboard; other times I get the standard mouse pointer icon and I can't move the Kneeboard at all, however many curse words I unleash, and I begin grow weary of DCS world and contemplate the simple joys of retiring to the un-wound afterworld of back porch margaritas and re-dedicating myself to the months-long project of finishing Thucydides. Is there some simple command I'm missing which will allow me obtain the elusive "small white dot" and thereby to grab and move the damn kneeboard, or am I forever resigned to the whims of this strange, modern variant of medieval obscurantism, revealing itself in esoteric devilry of hidden cfg files and 'polling rates' and 'windowed' modes and other similar nonsense? Please help a brotha out.
  25. The Mk81, while used extensively in Vietnam, was no longer produced afterwards. The USN gray ablative coating didn't come about until 2002, during which Mk81s were no longer in service nor produced. Furthermore, the three yellow stripes are only used on the BLU-110 (Mk83) and BLU-111 (Mk82). No BLU- designation exists for the Mk81 at all. If any ablative coating is to be applied at all, it would be the green color with two yellow stripes indicative of the 1980s-2002 period between Vietnam and the introduction of the gray color, though I cannot find any photographic evidence of a Mk81 with ablative coatings at all.
  26. Thanks for the update and the Currenthill assets I also might start flying Afghanistan again. However no fix again for the CH47 CDU issues, this is the second patch that has not included a fix for this annoying bug
