From latest Wags' video about navigation. I understand that we can add multiple points in DTC "Points" tab. And if I understand correctly, MiG-29A navigation system can only see next tabs "Waypoints" and "Aerodromes" ? Can Points from the first tab be recognized and used by plane systems, HUD, etc... If they can't, what is their use then ?

The native FOV of the TV camera is less than that of the IR camera. Thus, to get a wider image to reference where you're looking, the TV image is put in the middle of the wider IR FOV. I, too, went through all of "the ATP is so bad" thing for few days. Then I realized why I thought that way. The crux of all the "Litening" vs. ATP arguments is this: The image quality of the "F-16 Litening" we have in DCS is not realistic. You get 10x, crystal clear zoom, and can pick out a foot soldier 80 miles away. That's just not possible in the real world. On the other hand, I also think the ATP is not done. The image quality needs to be tuned, if only to reduce the jaggies. I'm happy to give ED the space/time to sort that out. The ATP is still really neat as it is. My advice is to just get practiced with it. -Ryan

У AH-64D нашлемка представляет собой «наглазку». И она там так и выглядит, на весь плоский экран с возможностью построить под VR вид именно в глаз. Так что и тут хотелось бы ожидать более правдоподобных угловых размеров.

I would also love to see some sort of flyable tanker in DCS. So far the only thing I know of that might potentially come down the pipe line is a KA-6D intruder. I had read somewhere that Heatblur would like to do the tanker variant of the A-6 if its possible. But that was back in 2021. Not sure what the current outlook might be.
-
Glad to hear. Honestly I don´t know how exact that is simulated in the Heatblur Phantom but in real life it would depend on the actual altitude of the bogey and the surrounding landscape. When the bogey is on angels 25 it should be more than sufficiant to be at the same altitude or even a little bit above. Whilest a bogey on angels 10 with mountains in the back could be a problem if you are not 1000 feet or even more below. As Zabuzard just mentioned Jester looks up 10,000 feet above and below your altitude in a range of 30nm. So there is no need to give him further orders. If you switch to boresight radar mode you have to point your nose in the direction of the bogey but this is used primarily within visual range.

I'd rather he call bandit clock code better. His calls are useless because it seems like he has to say everything in order in his script as it happens. So when I have out maneuvered a bandit and have him on my nose, he still says "6:00! 6:00 He's gonna fire!" Can't stand it. v6, boNes -

Game crash after selecting Aircraft (only in VR)
BalthasarDE replied to BalthasarDE's topic in Game Crash
Finally, I found the problem. It was my in-game graphics settings, which were adjusted to my monitor and were far too harsh for the high resolution of my VR headset. I used today the wrong profile Thanks again for your quick help and effort. -

I can't seem to have a reliable positive response when I interrogate a friendly aircraft. On the the upfront panel, I have the D/L 4 on (I read somewhere that it needs to be on for this), IFF on (indicating XP), I bring the radar cursor over the track, SCS press followed by SCS right. on the AZ/AL format, I can see that the interrogation is executed (vertical green lines appear around the track). Sometimes the friendly aircraft responds correctly, but sometimes it does not. The only way it seems to reliably perform a friend/foe interrogation is to STT the target. Only then I can get a reliable friend response. Hornet should be able to perform IFF interrogation without an STT (like in the F16, and even the F4E), so what am I doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I managed to resurrect my 11 year old ED account and found my modules to be there, got some new one's and everything was dandy, until... I have searched far and wide for a .pr0 or an in-game profile for a Logitech X56 HOTAS (and Saitek Pro flight pedals), for the FC2024 planes, but no cigar. I just got the FC2024, and thought it would be a better starting point, to get back into the game after a long time, instead of my full fidelity models (A-10C, A-10CII, Mi-8, and Black Shark 2 & 3). I read that the X56 is considered a "good mid range option" for DCS, so if some more experienced pilot would help me (and all the other people on the web looking for the same thing) to get flying, I would be super grateful. It's daunting, to say the least, to try to figure out what to map and where, not having the slightest clue about what is needed, and so on. I know the FC2024 planes are not full fidelity, but that is just salt in the wounds, trying to figure out what is necessary to get up and in the air, with the least hassle, has proven a task beyond my capabilities. Anyway, if there is someone kind enough, and has the time to put togeher a profile/guide for this, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Happy landings!

@-Rudel-, Would you be able to broach that subject with ED as well? You may have more clout than just little old player(s) like myself.

mArTiNkOpAc started following Slight Wobble in Viper TQS Throttle
-
I have had my Viper TQS mission pack for about half a year and I am very happy with it. However one minor detail that slightly bothers me is that the throttle has a small amount of play in it's range of travel. This happens when releasing the throttle, the grip tends to get dragged down in the direction of the gravity. It's not that big of a problem but it still changes the input by couple of values. Incrasing the friction using the allen key doesn't help. I want to ask if this a thing with all throttles or is it just me having something loose? Thanks for any tips. 20250914_182722.mp4

F-4E Intercept Advice – Best Practice After a GCI BOGEY Call (AI Jester)
Zev replied to Zev's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Hey Zabuzard, Thanks a lot for clarifying how Jester currently handles the radar search — that makes things much clearer. Good to know that his default pattern already covers a big chunk of the sky, and that there are options in the Wheel to fine-tune it if needed. Do you happen to have any specific tips or tricks for getting Jester to pick up a radar contact faster in practice? For example, are there particular search settings or habits that make a noticeable difference? Appreciate the insight! Cheers, Zev -

F-4E Intercept Advice – Best Practice After a GCI BOGEY Call (AI Jester)
Zev replied to Zev's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Hey OmasRachE, Thanks a lot for your detailed reply — that’s super helpful and definitely something I can use! One follow-up question: when you mention flying slightly below the bogey to help the radar against ground clutter, how much lower are we talking here? A few thousand feet, or just enough to keep some separation? And in that case, should I also be telling Jester to scan higher with the radar, or is he smart enough to compensate once I’m below the target? Appreciate the insights — this really helps me get a clearer picture of how to set up the intercept properly. Cheers, Zev That would be really great -

Rudel did you figure out about the WWII AI units ? I took a look at the mission file and suppose that it is the 4x "AI Hurricane" units that may come from an old Cuesta mod (perhaps this one ) Anyhow, will try to replace them with Spits and see if it loads fine then -
