Cosmetic: Grey guidance kit for (green) USAF type GBUs
Fitzcarraldo replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
+1 ED, Give us all the combinations, especially if the models are already in the files... Grey kits on regular bodies simply look cool and coated bodies (navy) with older green kits are needed for historic naval aviation. -
In-cockpit head tracking apparatus for monocle
kotor633 replied to Cgjunk2's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum

We can already put "Not correct for DCS version" tag as we will have a version from around 2015 but in general the idea to integrate more drones into DCS would be great.

FF Mig-29 Weapons Mod
VictorDavion replied to VictorDavion's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I was able to add new weapons. Unfortunately, they aircraft systems dont recognize them so you cannot use them at all. I havent been able to find a way to fix that like with the M2000C and the PCA script. Hopefully some can figure it out... -
Bump. We still looking for Hornet pilots

How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I did find out why the .1% Frametime was so high, it was because of QuadViews. I turned that off and again got Frametimes both CPU and GPU at 100%.. Even in Singleplayer I get a slight stutter every now and then, what is causing that in a singleplayer mission? -
Mig-21 doesn't have KH-23, (that was SACLOS like the RB-05 on the viggen or bullpup). Grom (which it never carried was Kh-66?)
-
I can confirm the issue too.
-
Sorry for the late response. Are you able to share it?
-
Hi, Unfortunately, that's the way it is. Years ago, I bought the NS 430 as a pop-up window (requires DCS World version 2.5.2 or above). However, waypoints, city names, airports, etc. are still displayed. The map in the background is missing (example: Syria): null

Interesting, thanks!

Visibility range of aircraft external lights
twistking replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I don't want to derail that thread, but in theory every light source gives you blooming. It should be directly proportional to perceived size of the source and perceived brightness of the source (and the condition of your cornea etc). Atmospheric conditions can of course further add to this. Even high quality photographic lenses struggle to render point light sources at their geometrically correct size. Your eye is optically inferior by a long shot. The issue in DCS is obvious. The implementation is just done without care. It's inconsistent between aircraft and even on aircraft where it's less bad it still scales weirdly and vanishes too early. Other light sources (city lights, the ships on PG maps, airport lights) look beautiful, have nice bloom, scale well and have acceptable visibility range - technically still too short, but "good enough" for gameplay purposes in most cases.- 12 replies

NineLine started following ATP: Lost crosshiar in TVXR and Apache FCR doesn't detect ships
-
The APG-78 FCR was not designed to engage maritime targets. However, the FCR can, in fact, detect them, but you will need to use RMAP mode to see the raw radar information, as the FCR will not process "ship" targets. You will need to use the TADS for targeting.

What does it matter? Just use flaps up as your “up one level” and either take off flaps or landing flaps as your “down one level”. It doesn’t matter, as they are functionally the same.
-
Ah that's good to hear at least. I was worried I'd either have to learn Russian or imperial units.
-
This is correct as of the latest update. It was mentioned in the changelog. The box and crosshair will appear if lasing while in XR mode.
-
There is, sort of. But ED needs to fix that and it has been reported.
-
I was thinking of having a crosshair that you could select areas with to land, then the crew chief would guide you there. Curious what other people have in mind for crew chiefs.
-
? Did you read carefully what I wrote?
